Your Bot must be withing 45x45x45 when you place it in the Arena. After that, it can expand in all directions as much you want, BUT...all movements/actions/expanding, after you place it in the arena, has to be remotely controlled. So, no touching, indeed.

Rules about only new, never shown models, are same as they were in TC6. About your flipper, I have already answered the same question four posts back. Just make the new disc and enter it! It works too good to be left out!

Its a tricky to decide is something "new enough", if it is based on already presented model. That's why we prefer to have new, never seen models on the contests. So, no keeping any sections that are already presented in the past, but if you can make a complete redesign of a machine, it is ok!

This is a small presentation/review of BuWizz controller. I got it some time ago, and I must say, I am very pleased with it. This presentation is for those who still haven't decided whether they want it or not, it is no in-depth technical analysis, but rather a common builder's view on a new way to control LEGO models. As most of us already know, BuWizz is high performance remote control system and battery box for LEGO® Power Functions. PROS Easy to setup and use Smooth controls 3 speed modes Able to control up to 2 XL motors per channel, in fast mode. More powerful and more range than regular LEGO rechargeable battery box + IR receiver Compact size, it has footprint of just two IR Receivers Lots of ways to connect it to your model, I build in ModelTeam style a lot, so brick-shape is really great for me. Battery and receiver in one package Generally very stable app, despite the very first 1.0 Android app version. It never crashed, only lost connection once in a 8 hours testing, and numerous on/off. CONS 1.0 Android app has 3 predefined profiles: Car, Loader and Crane, with fixed joystick and sliders position and orientation. Hope we will get a customizable layout very soon. Lost connection once (not really a major issue with early app, but fair to mention) Studless builders (who form a major part of AFOLs) would probably like more attachment points on sides of the case. If your model needs more than 4 channels, you need additional BuWizz Conclusion: Since I do not own any other non-LEGO controller, I can't compare it to them. But I can compare it with LEGO IR, even though it is not fair to compare new BT controlled product with old IR system. But as always, this can additionally motivate LEGO to bring us its own new controlling system. So, BuWizz really did well. It performs great, controls are smooth and responsive, and power delivered to the motors is noticeably greater than LEGO rechargeable box. Not sure how greater, but enough for motors to sound differently and for a model to perform more agile and with more power. Not to mention that it can be controlled via smartphone at long range, with gradually accelerating/decelerating motions. And for me, all of this is a big step forward. I can truly recommend it. I like how low it is, seems very hard to flip over. And yeah, it is quite big, and there is still lots of space left! 15 studs on the sides, and a lot of room to go up and mount signature move device!

To me, it looks just the opposite :) KikoTube's truck is 20 studs wide, and MLonger's is around 19 studs wide. Just LOVE the cleanliness of the MAN design! Those studded wing wedges are the only thing that brake the full clean look :)

Agreed! Or the other way around, if you (Matty) want to use that scale of 5.9 for some reason, your tires should have diameter of around 11.2cm. And overall length of 73cm, or about 92 studs.

Glad to see unique ideas like this. Technically it is a Lego, but it feels too cheaty, lets stick to something you have created, and built yourself.

Guys, but mostly @aminnich @PKW @IA creations Instead of (again) quoting the rules and replies, I will write some reasons why it is not good idea to have second dummy bot: 1. Main bot will be built and fit to perfectly crush perfectly fitting dummy, and we don't want that! Does real Robot Wars Bot have that luxury? No, they are built like all-round machine that are designed to fight a bot of any shape and size. We want that! 2. Second bot could have influence on the judging! Which can only be avoided if none of the Bots have a dummy adversary. We need to make sure all the attention is on the main bot! 3. We would have to introduce a new set of detailed rules for the second-dummy bot! It will complicate things and is a bad idea, especially when it seems it is hard enough to follow the existing ones. Having said this, lets get back to building and enjoying the contest!
