it would make a lot of sense if BL did have corresponding terminology. however, i doubt it would happen... the official LEGO color names are public knowledge, and BL still uses there own set, which is very different from the offical LEGO set. *wacko* i wish it was all uniform. - BrickMiner

wow, it has really improved. the wooden board headers did the trick ;-) - BM

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
only if i had a business partner... and that partner would have to be LEGO :-D - BrickMiner -
i have to admit, the mars mission page is pretty nice... the alien font download is a pretty fun concept. i like that LEGO is fully developing their lines. these two sites are a tribute to that. these are both much better sites than the other new theme this year... AquaRaiders. - BrickMiner

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
thanks for expanding... this is great !!! it is my observation that LEGO attempted to combine multiple western themes into each of their WW sets. thus, you see a pioneer-style covered wagon that is also a calvary weapon supply wagon, and why you see a saloon-style card table in FORT LEGOREDO. similarly, in my MOCs, im attempting to overlay as many western themes as possible in each set. especially the larger sets, like this one.my idea was that LEGO would have tried to get more playability out of the (otherwise pointless) caboose. therefore, i combined the idea of a mail car, luggage car and caboose into one. inside the caboose are 2 small barrels with letter pattern tiles, briefcases, and an adventurer's crate with a "safe co." safe in it. that -
yes, that was my thought, it was thinking of using this as reference... it seems to me that LEGO tried to pack as many western themes into each set as possible. thus, you have a card playing (saloon style) table in FORT LEGOREDO, and why you have a bandit hideout and gold mine as one set. there are other examples, but basically im trying to do the same in my MOCs... pack as much into one set as possible. also, i think this overlay of western themes ties directly to the playability of each set. that is why i think this cableway could be combine with other western themes, and made into one super-playable set. im slowly realizing a "BOULDER PASSAGE" set for the train to pass through. it would also have a bandit hideout and traps similar to those seen in 6761, for robbery of the train. this cableway could also be included. this set also would also be focused on the wilderness aspect of the Wild West... something a little different, and not really explored in the official LEGO sets (with the exception of maybe the two larger indian camp sets). - BrickMiner

im glad im not the only one who has thought of doing this... i have deleted my MOCs currently for that reason !!! i still don't like all the glitches i have found. im not sure how much i like the site, currently anyway :-/ - Brick Miner

i think this theme is doing really well... at least the small sets here in the states. when these were first offered on S@H all sets were available (save 7009). then 7090 went on back order until june 15th. now today, its back order date is pushed back to june 22nd. equally, 7092 is now on back order!!! wow, those are the two sets i want 8-

you use the word "rigid". that is reassuring. maybe i will get this set afterall. thanks - BM

congrats !!! gottcha. ya, im taking a break from MOCpages... i find that the feedback here on EB is much more constructive. all i ever got on MOCpages was "this is a fantastic! creation !!!!!!!!!!!!!" yet my MOC rating were 2 and 3 stars *wacko* i don't get it. i think you should be required to write a review if you rate it... that way, if you give something 1 or 2 stars you can tell the builder how to improve.furthermore, one day i decided to go and rate other peoples creations (just to get more actively involved in the site). i rated fairly... if something wasn't great, i was honest, and tried to give constructive feedback and an appropriate rating. days later, my MOCs dropped by 2 or 3 stars each and got a tons more votes (3 and 4 times the amount, im not exaggerating). could have been coincidence. i just think its strange. also, i noticed glitches... like some people's MOCs i was able to vote on and unlimited number of times, and others only let me vote once... how unfair would it be for me to tally a vote more than once ??? in fact, i could probably login right now and vote some more :-| also, some of my reviews haven't shown up yet that i posted last year... including some reviews of yours B ;-) when i go to try to rewrite them, it says i have already written a review. im just frustrated with it. but i can't figure out how to delete my account. i don't think you can. annnnnywaaay... sorry to ramble in your thread :-$ i just have a lot of free time right now (if you can't tell by my number posts recently). - BrickMiner

thanks for the tip, i'll have to try again... i don't want to wait until after the 15th (backorder date).- BM

the figs are definitely the best part of this theme... and both sides make great armies. i think its funny how your princess is even a warrior on the battlefield :-D but she has no weapons :'-( i wish my toy stores around here had these (i can't wait to redo Shiversdale)... did you get them from S@H B ??? - Brick Miner

but you might not get as much traffic.i see why you love the commments and voting feature, as your MOC are the highest voted western MOCs :-P ;-) - BM

Brickster, im curious, was there some reason you didn't (don't) like MOCpages... it seems you can almost do exactly the same thing you are doing here. or was it not customizable enough ??? - BrickMiner

that does sound like a useful smiley to have. though smiles aren't my specialty :-/ - BM

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
thanks for the feedback KD !!! your comprehension of the WW theme is very noteworthy, so your opinion is a very valuable one !!!-------------------------------------------------- i do think your cableway set is an excellent idea... im not sure i would want to make this the focal point of an entire set, but its inclusion in my BOULDER PASSAGE 6785 MOC may be prefect. BOULDER PASSAGE is an MOC expanding on the train sub-theme of the Wild West theme. while the LEGOREDO STATION focused on the city environment, BOULDER PASSAGE 6784 is going to focus on the wilderness of the frontier... these two sets will give the western train two very different environments to explore. and i think a cableway would be an excellent characteristic for the set !!! -------------------------------------------------- -

after reading back through the responses here, i realize i missed some of your questions Asuka !!! yes, the solider is actually not a soldier, but a train engineer !!! his uniform is based on a lionel train engineer statue that i saw on ebay a while ago, though i can't seem to find the reference via google now. i think the spiders got it ;-) i wish i would have saved the images on my computer, but i can't seem to find them off-hand. anyway, i think his uniform is pretty authentic to the time period. -
:-D that reminds me of the yellow hands of the ghost in kings castle 10176 *wacko* - BrickMiner

the converstation reminds me of something from Seinfield... just pointless fun, i like that kind of joking :-D i actually think the debate started when i asked what the thing on top of the smaller building (main box art configuration) was. i was actually asking a broader question regarding the entire black configuration (dino tails, whips, and animal included). we must not have that type of archetecture in the states, cause i have no idea what that thing is. is it just an ornamental gate entry ??? again, i've never seen anything like that before. to me it just looks like a cluttered mess *wacko* - BrickMiner -
Fort Legoredo on sale (auction) at Brinklink
Brick Miner replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
61 USD is a good value for 6769... the thing about this set is most of the pieces are valuable, in-an-of-themselves. lots of old brown log wall panels, tons of calvary figs, light gray 8- -
oh, i thought those were sealed sets... not as crazy as i thought :-$ nevermind.- Brick Miner

though i loved dinoaurs as a kid, i never really got into jurassic park, or dinosaurs in LEGOs. however, one of the prettiest MOCs i've ever seen is a jurassic park. if you haven't had the pleasure, BT, i think its something you will like... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=298549 - BrickMiner
