  1. Need reservation at Kirchenbauerhof: No, Thank you. I will likely be staying at my wife's grandmother's house, who lives right at Guenzburg. - Apartment sharing: yes/no -> N/A - Number of persons and length of stay? Still difficult to say, most likely my wife and son will be with, but I can't yet say if they will attend the whole event. I will try to be around the whole event though. - Are you member of a registered LUG? Only those will be eligible to receive a discount of 15% on Saturday - Yes, 1000steine, but I haven't heard anything about these stickers until now. What should I do? - Anything else we need to know? (help needed in flying/transport ...) Nothing else comes to mind.
  2. I'm also hoping a border is not included in the limit but it doesn't say anything about that.
  3. I had assumed this myself, as that seems to be the standard in GoH. Clarification would be great.
  4. This challenge broke my mini dark age. First build in far too long is here: Edit: It appears that since Eurobricks updated, I've lost my ability to hyperlink. I will work on this.
  5. The flightless Dracolisks of Naga, though uncommon for transportation, are highly sought, as they eliminate the need for extra security precautions. Most bandits or brigands choose not to attack whatever kind of cargo they are pulling, and those that are foolish enough to attack ensure the beasts stay well fed. When word that the High King had returned reached the Naga tribe, they sent out whatever men they could spare to carry this message with safety across all of Historica.
  6. Could you clear up category A a bit for me? Should a build for the Spire depict a rider for the Spire or Spire troops intercepting a resistance rider?
  7. @Hersbrucker An Avalonian here, I'll most likely attend a few days, if not the whole event (work pending). I just live an hour away so it'd be a shame to miss it.
  8. The idea of a collab sounds great. Unfortunately i don't have any time right now. Not to mention my bricks are either tied up in another MOC or are in one of several "to be sorted" bins. Whenever I have free time again, I'm intending to use it for Lego again. I'm just not sure when that will be!
  9. Hello Town Forum! This is my first MOC I've posted to this forum. I usually stick to the historic and occasionally pirate themes, but I had to come up with a MOC for work that depicted a farm. I had originally planned to go with a classic American style farm, but since I came up short on red bricks for the classic red barn, I went a different direction with it and tried to depict what local farmhouses look like. Overall I was pretty satisfied with this MOC, although I wish I had come up with a better solution for the roof. Granted, it looks worse in these pictures than it really did in person, had I had a little more time, I would have spent it on the roof. Anyway, C&C are gladly accepted!
  10. Well, this probably isn't my ideal snow, but I know my wife would like to go skiing. Thank you once again for hosting this raffle again, Mike. It's still amazing to me how you can pull something like this off every year!
  11. Hi all, I've never spent much time in the MCW section, as I consider myself to be strictly purist. However, I've been playing around with the idea of coming up with some Game of Thrones decals for shields and banners, and possibly something else later on. Thanks to the MCW section at Eurobricks, I found some templates for shields that I was able to use to come up with designs I'm happy with, but I can't find anything regarding piece 30292 ( http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30292#T=C ). I've considered the fact that a decal for this piece is just a rectangle, so it shouldn't be too hard to actually do, but I'd like to make sure it's the right dimensions so the image fits right. It would also probably be simple enough to do from measuring the piece itself, but I've never done anything like this before, so I'm hoping someone more experienced can help me out. Does anyone have a template that fits this piece's dimensions? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  12. How would it work to come to part of the event but not all? I live 45 minutes away and my wife's grandmother lives at Guenzburg, so it'd be a shame not to at least come and say hi. While I'd love to come to everything, and will see if it's possible, I'm not sure it will be yet, so it'd be nice to know if that'd work.
  13. Wow. While the landscaping itself is amazing, the giant is just phenomenal. Unbelievable. Will we see him in action during the civil war?
  14. Looks like they need to keep practicing a while! Very nice build, I especially like the little scaffolding. Looking forward to phase 2!
  15. Sometimes you just have to keep patient. Check bricklink, eBay, even local to regional classified ads, and eventually you'll find a decent deal. Yesterday I was finally able to get the Mill Raid set for 85, which is still a bit more than the original price, but compared to what you usually see it for, I'm happy with the price.
  16. I definitely appreciate the input, but I'd rather wait for an official explanation, as the description was so ambiguous. (One can also argue that threatening ones life you're bribing them with their own life)
  17. Is bribery required for Category 3? There are other ways to cheat--sabotage comes to mind first.
  18. The 1x1 plate with clip on top was the first of mine to break as well. I thought, OK, it's a clip, they're weak, no big deal. I think now I've had 4 or 5 of those break, all of which were reddish brown. Since then, I've had stranger pieces breaking. 1x4 tiles splitting down the center, the side wall of a 4x4 plate chipping off, half the knob of a 1x2 jumper plate breaking off--all reddish brown pieces. To be fair, I have also had dark brown droid arm clips break, but they were being used in a way they weren't supposed to be used, so I'm not at all surprised that they broke, especially considering how thin those clips are.
  19. Hi, Eurobricks. I have a question, and I'm not sure if this is the right place for it or not. Hopefully it hasn't already been asked, as I haven't seen it asked yet. I realize that after building with pieces enough times, eventually they will weaken in certain points and they will break, especially any clippy pieces. My question is, are pieces made of certain colors weaker, and therefore more likely to break than others? I'm sure the question sounds a little silly, but my reason for asking is that I have been having more and more reddish brown pieces break on me lately, and I don't think I've had pieces of any other color break on me yet. Granted, I have a lot of reddish brown in my collection, and I use it in every build I do, but there are other colors I have a lot of and also use often. Is there something about reddish brown pieces (or any other color) that makes them structurally weaker, and therefore more likely to break?
  20. I haven't tried it yet with the new piece, but you could try a method I did a while back. It might work? You can see it in this post here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103100
  21. My personal recommendation would be to create your own fiefdom where you get to decide how everything is, thus allowing s lot of creative freedom. Claiming the land doesn't mean your character rules that area. You can still write your main character as whatever role you choose, and can also make and MOC all the other characters that fit within the fiefdom, including the leader should you choose, but they will not be your main character, or SigFig.
  22. The tasks I've completed aren't listed by my name, but my name seems to be in the correct list! Thanks, Rogue. Any idea when Task 4 settlements will be updated?
  23. Welcome! Always nice to see new members here. You're certainly welcome to ask questions here, and as many as you like. Once you pick a guild, you can also ask questions in your guild thread, which is also a very common for questions. There is a topic (I believe it is the bottommost stickied thread, titled something along the lines of Story and history, start here! This covers most of the story from book one. The next place to start is the first post of each guild intro thread. We obviously don't expect you to read 100s of pages of posts, but reading the first posts in each should give you the most important information for each. Otherwise, keep asking questions!
  24. Steampunk and airships have been discussed multiple times, and it is always turned down. Some dwarves machinery is used, but be aware that it is pushing the boundaries of the established lore of GoH. Use it with caution, as using too much could upset members of cause controversy. I don't think there's a problem with having a brick built figure, but you might also want a minifigures version for others to use, should they want to include your character in a build.
