Lego Southern Preserved Railway Layout
Chromeknight replied to jamesed_1971's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think your measurements are off. Three tracks side by side, plus some is around 48 studs or 2 baseplates or 20 inches or 508 millimetres. A turntable 20 studs across will fit one and a quarter pieces of track, unless you're running very short locos, you'll need something bigger. Otherwise, it looks like a really good plan. Looking forward to some WIP photos.- 12 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest#88: Fathers and Sons

Nerwen paused in her attempts to heal Jess and spoke gently to Hoke. I agree. It might have been more helpful to have changed what I was doing and attack, but your instruction to all was to repeat what we were doing. I will follow your orders even when they are not the best ones possible. -

Seraphael shimmered into visability in front of the party. Nerwen nodded in satisfaction as she heard Hoke sound the advance. Although Jess had drunk a potion she was not yet fully healthy. She focussed again on healing her comrade. -

Nerwen looked up at the grey sky. Telling time in this desolate landscape was difficult. She blinked and focussed again on gathering healing energy. -

Nerwen heals Jess. Fear not Miss Islanti. I will keep you standing so that you may concentrate on assassinating them. -

The are coming faster than we can kill them. Nerwen hands general mint her morning star. A small weapon is better than none. Next round Hoke can give you his electro gear. -

Nerwen swung her shield up, confident that it could deflect any harpy attack. Once again the bangs on the side of the seal of the warrior priestess, perhaps the angel watching over it was asleep. Then she turns and swings her staff at harpy B. -

Thank you General. Once Nerwen is on her feet again she strikes Harpy C with her magical staff. -

orc barbed shield SP now 11 not 10 Nerwen's defence is ((11+2)+3)x2=32 Also you need to roll for the seal of the warrior priestess. Do hanging heroes that have been rescued have an action that round (like revived heroes)? Did you intend that AoE attacks such as Hoke's spellspin and Benji's beast unleashed and AoE defences such as Nerwen's Guardian angel only affect one of the facings? If so you haven't specified such. Sir Ablesword! A hand if you will. You will need my shield. -

Nerwen cocked her head listening closely, trying the follow, if not the words then the tone of, the conversation. Benji's bellow made it clear that whatever form of persuasion he had been trying to use, it had failed. She planted the butt of her staff in the ground and sent a pulse of ether through the aquamarine and amethyst embedded in its top. Flying creatures are vulnerable to a sapphire's wind and topaz's lightning magic. They are immune to the earth magic of a garnet also. Sir Hoke. Perhaps you might put the electro gear to use somewhere? -
Nerwen's mannerisms are quite subtle. She doesn't does not use contractions. Means she comes off a little more formal. She also tends to longer sentences, with comma breaks indicating subclauses, which make use of polysyllabic words where possible.

Nerwen raises an eyebrow in surprise at Benji's shift to animal talk. Then she nods her head in acknowledgement that he handled it much better than she would have. OOC animal talk, of course! -

Nerwen looks at Hoke, clearly indicating by her expression that she thinks she can handle this. She waits for a nod. -
Because all minifigures are the same shape?

I know quite well how flocks work. Each member tries to get move closer to the rest, without going to close, while heading in the same direction. But you may be thinking of pack hunting behaviour, where a group works out if we are worth chasing for food. If these harpies have learnt that men are soft and delicious, there is not much that will prevent them attacking. If they have not learnt this, they will be no trouble. Either way, the call I made was meant to give them pause. Pack predators rarely attack other packs, too dangerous for them. So it will be if they try us. -
At least with the one piece nose, the passenger train will be very light. Possibly a good contender for a speed record for stock built kit. See here for more fun!

Of the 80 or so characters listed in the stats thread, 14 are female. Less than 20%. Female gendered items are the reward for those women who happily play, and for those guys who make the effort to believably play a character of differing gender to themselves. Yes there are other minorities (sort by race/species, age, vitality, class etc.) and most people, other than teenaged male human rogues, make some effort to play outside themselves, but it is the gender imbalance that Sandy wants to address. Hence the paucity of male only items.

Nerwen lets fly with an equally piercing screech in reply, substituting the the falling third tone for a rising one. Her intent was to reply to the challenge in kind. She looks at her companions. I think that is a suitable reply. It has been a long time since I met any of the Taraerea. -

Seraphiel hovered above. Unseen by all but Nerwen. Nerwen knew an attack was immanent, but was, she thought, prepared. -

Nerwen swaps her shield of the red lizard for the Orc barbed shield. Noting it's dented and scuffed condition , she sets to work with her bright polish on it, incidentally making it slightly better at blocking blows. She then nodded at Sir Ablesword and Generals Mint and Hamilton. Let us proceed when the others are ready. -

That is an... interesting view of the situation. With such a view I am surprised you pay so little attention to the gods, to those who bestow power. Nerwen drinks the ambrosia given by Frederick. She also approaches the bar and orders another ambrosia to take away, handing over the 77 gold to the barkeep to pay for it. -

Nerwen's smile with thin. Fear not young Prince. Mine will not be the next hand that whacks you over the head. As for the moral of the story, I am sure you have something in mind. But I would say that if the old one made an offer to one side, who is to say an offer was not made to the other also? And if accepted, what price was paid by the people of Tarokai? Is it Tarokai or Torakai? Or is the mistake Frederick being a jerk and not caring about proper pronunciation of his enemies' historical figure? -

Nerwen speaks very quietly. Quiet enough for Jess' Elven hearing to pick up but not loud enough for the humans to pick out over the hubbub of the inn General Mint has two functioning eyes. It is Fredrick's father King Speros that has lost an eye.
