  1. Nerwen shakes herself, the memory of Sorrow, Sonora and her Dark General, Haroka clear and present. Speaking to Deborah she says, There is a reckoning for everything, good or ill. But yes, we should leave. By my count, we have this loot to divide. What is feather of Lithe? Bella's ashes? Bella's Ashes, Soma x2, Feather of Lithe x2, Mead x2 Trickster's Mask of the Angel, Mulled Wine, Order Imperial's Assassin Cowl (Immune to Light and Darkness, Wearer is Nimble, Suitable for Assassins, Chi Monks, Infiltrators, Rogue Thieves, Paragons) Tonic x2 Potion 150 Gold Grating Stone Burning Knuckle Helmet (SP: 10, Wearer suffers burning -3 effect) Never Blessed Helmet (SP: 8, Immunity to Blinded, Doomed and Blessed, Wearer deals double damage to Holy Enemies, suitable to Knights, Barbarians, Regulators, and Skirmishers), Never Blessed Armor (SP: 10, Immune to Darkness, Light, and Blessed, Wearer deals double damage to Demons, suitable to Knights, Barbarians, Regulators, and Skirmishers)
  2. Hunting... Nerwen murmurs in response. Though whether it is agreement or merely echoing is difficult to tell.
  3. Pretzel is perma-poisoned. Monk! Can you neutralise the guard's luck? Grimwald, can you get Kiray up? It'd be a shame for her to miss seeing him fall. Battle Order >Grimwald Abel v. Deborah - Heal Samuel v. Marcellus - Heal Pretzel v. Guard - neutraliser Nerwen v. Guard - Essence of Sorrow (Finally! a worthy valid target!) Avery v. White-Cowled Guard - Dagger >Deborah v. Guard - Crossbow Marcellus v. Guard - whip Kiray
  4. I won't bother distributing loot, nothing that dropped will a make a difference this battle. The enemy is currently lucky, but only nimble is listed as permanent. If he's neutralised, does he lose lucky for the rest of the battle? Is Marcellus hastened? He's in the party stats twice! Abel, Samuel, keep everyone on their feet. Avery, take point. Battle Order Nerwen v. Party - Lucky Chant Abel v. Deborah - Heal Samuel v. Marcellus - Heal Avery v. White-Cowled Guard - Dagger >Grimwald v. Guard - Darkness Kiray v. Guard >Deborah v. Guard - Crossbow Marcellus v. Guard - whip Pretzel
  5. Gocklo took one of the witches held by the order imperial. We had previously agreed they were to be rescured first. We met Bella's brother Simon, the Prophet, he encouraged Gocklo to act rather than wait, clearly hoping to divide our party. Gocklo is pursing his own ends, much as Deborah, Yu Shu, Marcellus and Oko are.
  6. Nothing Mitchell did gives me any reason to mistrust you. We met Simon. It was his words that inflamed Gocklo and drove him to act early. Who is the white cowled man you mention?
  7. Infighting. Demons corrupting minds. Debates about morality. Nerwen says flatly. Sure we have those. But there's been a lack of demons this quest. And of moral issues. And it's a bit hard to fight party members when removed from them. Nerwen shrugs. Yu Shu is the one directing this jaunt, blame her. Reaching Deborah, Nerwen holds up her hand. A greeting and also a signal to the others that a single reply would be sufficient. Gocklo fled with one of the witches, Deci was her name I believe. Mitchell fought beside us against a burning knuckle. He nearly fell in combat and his constitution was not strong enough to heal himself as it usually would have been. Perhaps there was some other force at work. Nerwen looks at Morta briefly. We gave him the means to heal himself but he would accept no assistance other than the coup dé grace, holding himself shamed since he had failed to prevent Gocklo from betraying us. We did not count him so and would have yet fought alongside him. I am truly sorry for your loss
  8. Humans don't live as long as pretzel says he has. So either he's lying about his age or he's not human. Or at least not wholly human. So it's plausible. The question is, if he's half elf, what's the other half?
  9. Nerwen nods. Thank you for your help. Do you remember how you got here or will we need to navigate the maze of passages still?
  10. There's still Simon to deal with, and however many troops stand between us and the exit. Let's not count coins til we're out, Battle Order Sir Able - heal Pretzel > Nerwen v. Enemies - Angelic Aria Marcellus v. Burning Knuckle - Whip Avery v. Burning Knuckle - Dagger > Pretzel v. Burning Knuckle - Flying Broomstick > Grimwald v. Knuckle - Darkness Kiray v. Burning Knuckle - Katana > Samuel v. Pretzel - Heal
  11. Berwen shrugged. We found the witch, but it turns out there were two. Gocklo betrayed us and ran off with one. Mitchell stood in out way for a bit, then one of these hot pockets showed and he joined us again. He got beat down and checked out. Then we were coming to find you but got turned around in these passages. The witch seemed to think it was a maze, but clearly you didn't have any trouble with it. As it was, we found guards then more guards found us and our luck turned. Battle Order Sir Able - heal Pretzel Marcellus v. Burning Knuckle - Whip Avery v. Burning Knuckle - Dagger > Pretzel v. Burning Knuckle - Flying Broomstick > Grimwald v. Knuckle - Darkness Kiray v. Fancy-Foot - Katana > Samuel v. Pretzel - Heal > Nerwen v. Self - Grand Tonic
  12. Battle Order > Nerwen v. Party - Lucky Chant Sir Able - heal Pretzel > Pretzel v. Burning Knuckle - Flying Broomstick Avery v. Burning Knuckle - Dagger > Grimwald v. Self - Grand Tonic Kiray v. Fancy-Foot - Katana Marcellus v. Burning Knuckle - Whip > Samuel v. Pretzel - Heal
  13. As the song that was uppermost in her thoughts before she was knocked out spills out, she notes the others piling in, though with a wan looking Yu Shu hanging back. Grimwald's magic finally rips out, an action long overdue. Ignoring the witches muttering she smiles in welcome to Kiray and Pretzel. Did Gocklo go past you? Did you stop him? And what of Bella? Seeing Grimwald's aura shrunk almost to invisibility she says Do you want someone to give you a tonic or to just drink one yourself?
  14. Battle Order > Pretzel v. Nerwen - Pheonix essence > Nerwen v. Party - Dirge of the Pheonix Avery v. Burning Knuckle - Dagger > Grimwald v. Jonas - Darkness (Magical Staff) Kiray v. Not-Jonas - Katana Marcellus v. Fancy Foot - Whip > Samuel v. Enemies - Arc scroll of sleep
  15. Battle Order > Pretzel v. Party - Pheonix incense > Nerwen v. Party - Lucky Chant Avery v. Burning Knuckle - Dagger > Grimwald Kiray Marcellus v. Fancy Foot - Whip > Samuel v. Enemies - Arc scroll of sleep
  16. Arguably, a world with magic wouldn't even develop firearms since a mage can do the same thing with just a gem. And any development of chemical combustion powered metal projectiles would be offset by magical shielding development.
  17. Freudian much? Also, is such a shame quest #21 didn't run. Boomers, Nyx and Nerwen...
  18. Nope. You can't be in a different row to the poison that is in your own body. Edit: ninja'd by the one word answer...
  19. Not sure if this is the right forum, but Minecraft sword by ChromeKnight, on Flickr thought people might like it. Very simple build, but I can't put it down, it wants to be carried and swung!
  20. I'm planning on running some heroica board game (upsized to minifig scale) at the Sydney brick show next weekend.
  21. I actually think a flat ether rate for songs is all round easier. Both for QMs and players to strategise around. I agree Nanny's lullaby (as it stood) needed to go. But a song which eliminates free hits for the round it's sung would be a winner.* But I still think there's no compelling reason for a minstrel to attack. Ever. Even the chance of stunned. And especially not with that shield roll. Because if you're attacking, it's a statement that there isn't a song you could sing that'd be more useful. Therefore any song (especially one chosen at random) is, self evidently, worse than doing Level in damage. An attacking minstrel is below tanks (and prob below artillery too), for suvivablity, which means a shield will nearly never benefit the party much. Yes, I get the point that the new ether costs are going to drain down in an effort to force the minstrel to attack, which means that your 4 roll is so much better than your 1 roll. Is there any other class that's the case with? And forceing attacks isn't the same as mistrels having a reason to do it. *or a song that steals ether from enemies, or that steals gold from enemies
  22. If a dragon levels seperately (but parallel to) it's PC, can it wear a medal of glory? Is it affected by a PC wearing a MoG?
  23. Guts already has a boat...
  24. The other option for nanny's lullaby that I've just seen is a possibility is that it puts enemies to sleep while the song is sung as opposed to slapping the sleep effect on them. But all the songs's ether costs could be taken as a per target cost too.
