Ragnarök Now 3: Day One
Chromeknight replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'd responded to your accusations in post 205 elsewhere, plus in the post before you'd just agreed with me that one player defending another doesn't mean the defended player is scum. So I felt no need to comment on the other parts of your 'reasons' and focussed on the ludicrous. -

Um. Logic fail there? Either my lack of sig name is one of the reasons you voted for me or it isn't. If it is a reason, it's reasonable I highlight it and call it what it is, a stupid reason to vote for someone. If it isn't a reason, why include it in a sentence about voting reasons and use a conjunction? (and you even complain I unfairly removed it!) -
I meant that Nerwen was healing the other elf, not herself. As for battle songs outside battle, fair enough, I can see it in the rules. Nerwen coughs and splutters in the smoke.

I was responding to the assertion that town don't defend town and scum don't defend town. The incoherence is a demonstration that that assertion does not hold up. As for knowing if you're loyal or not, I don't know that. I do know that you don't have a problem with Jarl, you have brought no reason to suspect him and have rubbished the slight reason I brought up. That's why I think he might possibly be town. But possibly doesn't equal trust, in either him or you. -

I'm sure others can attest that my play style does involve reaching out via pm. I said I was happy to accept that you were town. Nothing in that indicated rock solid certainty or even an outright apology. I figured if Hervi is weighing in defending you, he's got more experience than me and the balance is toward your being ok. Since you were probably ok, I wanted to open a channel for future days as the town coaleses. It's not like I then went fishing for roles or suddenly blurted mine, both of which I agree, would be scummy. I left the conversation there since there wasn't a lot to add until voting blocs form. No worries about shining a light on this, I've got nothing to hide either Bah. Your grandpa or something. You pudding heads all look alike. You should try growing a manly goatee. -

That's a hard and fast rule? Any defending others indicates both are scum? Hervi pokes at you (granted it's only fluff at this point). Brands first post? Deflect attention from you... Hervi defends Jarl's comment as idiomatic mistranslation. Going by your logic... 1. Cranbienn pokes Jarl. Could he be scum poking town to distract. 1. Brand defendy/suspicions me. Therefore he and I must be scum. 2. Brand defendishes you. He's scum (see 2, which happened before 1, but never mind) and therefore so is Agnar. 3. Hervi defends Jarl. Jarl is town if Cranbienn is scum, but then Hervi is scum is Jarl is town. But Hervi poked Cranberry. Is that distraction or is Hervi town too? Maybe Cranebean is too. But if Crabnean is, does that mean Agnar isn't since he poked Crabnizle? Or maybe sometimes scum do randomly defendy/suspicion townies just to screw up neat chains of logic... -

Mmm. So if my reason is I think, that's bad. But if my reason is Agnar thinks and I bandwagonly agree, that's good? Brand and my interaction has been clear, and several people have commented on it already. He said he was trying to cast suspicion on me. I find that suspicious. Especially if he accepts (as he seemed to do) that I misspoke when I said vigilante instead of serial. As I said earlier, I'm happy to be examined. I know that I'm a useful loyalist. Some seem to think Brand and I are in cahoots and might argue I voted as I did to bus a lame duck teammate. My comment above was to forestall such a woolly headed conclusion. -
Nerwen moves closer to the elf and plays a love serenade to restore any health she'd lost.

I suggested he might be based on something he said. Others pointed out that the evidence in what he said was so slight they couldn't see it. In the end, it wasn't the specific accusation but the responses to it that were interesting. Jarl wasn't defensive or counter accustiory. He just ignored it, then calmly denied it. There was no panic about being 'found out'. So no, I don't think he is. -

Sure it's petty and vindictive, sure I've got no good reasons other than 'I think'. Sure twisty minded people can twist it to read it as something it's not and conclude wrong headed things about me. I don't care. Vote: Brand(Brickelodeon) -

I get that Brand's 'defensy/suspicioning' is odd and his interaction with Puddinghead is too. What I'm not sure about is how to respond to the suggestion that his action makes me look bad. I didn't ask for his reply, for either the cack handed agreement or the clumsy shade casting. That's all on him. -

Is it? Really? Surely in the grand history of hapless warriors people have been outed for less and for slighter hints of their allegiance. And it's even not so much what he says as how he responds. Is he defensive? Counter accusatory? Does he reach out via PM or clam up, all good things to know aren't they? -

Enjoy your stretching. But don't fret your flamey head. There wasn't anything to miss in what I said. I'm all for analysing what I said, though I do hope you agree you should be equally scrutinised for the desire to "throw suspicion" on someone. Fair enough. And that's what I expected. But it was worth asking the question. And it's worth letting him answer rather than jumping in and short circuiting the discussion. -

I'm happy with my words being scrutinised and picked at. That's what this game is about. Jarl said "I can't think of any group I'd like to be with" Indicating he doesn't like either the loyal or the others, suggesting he stands alone. Perhaps he meant "I can't think of any group I'd rather be with" meaning he likes this group above any other. As for lurking or consulting, I confess I have other things to do in this place that don't involve skull smashing extreme prejudice. Sometimes I pretend I'm an elf and I prance about singing pretty tunes. Doesn't make me any less manly or my goatee any less attractive. -

Seems brain farts can happen to the best of us. Of course no good can come from spotlighting a loyal einherjar. Finding someone whose goal it is to end us all, as possibly indicated in the speech of the one I replied to, is a good thing. So yes I did mean serial killer. I should spend less time grooming my stylish manly goatee and a bit on refreshing myself on the rules of this hall. -

Yawn. It's like I live in a whole other Timezone or something.at least your nattering woke me up. At least I look manly in the morning and my goatee is still so good looking. Either you've had a brain fart or you're trying to subtly say you've got some desire to reach Valhalla alone and (vigilante) kill the rest of us. -

Look at my goatee. I am so manly and grown up. So much better a warrior than my father. -

Nerwen narrowed her eyes. I knew I should have bought a plectrum at Fabians. It seems harder to keep singing than it used to. Nerwen continues her Lucky Chant.

Nerwen is agast as the monster snacks on the Pretzel. Silly old coot shouldn't have waved food in its face. Elemental weapons don't hurt it, effects don't affect it. We have to beat this thing down the hard way. Clearly these heroes needed all the luck they could get, Nerwen chants a Lucky chant again.
