  1. I'm actually going to go with the drawbridge defense on this one but only barely. I own both though and you can't go wrong with either.
  2. Hello fellow train fans. Although I consider myself a train fan I have only bought two train sets, High speed train and the second Hogwarts Express. I also built with my parts almost an exact copy of the My Own Train engine. After getting the hight speed train for christmas in about 2003 I stopped building trains until I took a ride on the MBTA and decided I should bring out my old sets. Over the years I had lost one curve track and the motor so I just built a car on a small section of straight track from the parts of the Hight Speed Train and set it up behind my modular buildings. After seeing an article on Eurobricks by The Brickster I decided to build another train and I built the My Own Train engine from a picture. I also found the motor and bought another track piece so I could still power it. When the contest started I decided to build an engine for the the train car I had built and after I take pictures I will enter it so you can all see it. Just recently I also bought the Hogwarts Express. I now have two MOCed trains, and the Hogwarts Express with only the oval track. I will probably eventually get more track but for now my only layout is the oval track.
  3. This was pretty funny, great job with the cameo from the scooby-doo characters.
  4. Great job on the building. Like others said the surrounding area could be better green plates for elevation and maybe another tree would help.
  5. Great job creating one of my favorite periods in American History. If these figures where used in sets I would buy them in a second.
  6. I would have certainly bought this if the pawns has shakos. Now though, because of this and the lower quality I'm not sure.
  7. For a first MOC this looks fantastic. I can't wait to see it finished. Some great decals and some 1950's cars will really put this one over the top.
  8. 7595 - Green Toy Soldiers If this list is real then this seems to be the only one worth buying. The set names sound made up though without words like chase or attack.
  9. I had a similar problem and ended up making two separate layouts, one with the town plan buildings, all the modular buildings, and some modular MOCs. The other one uses road baseplates and classic buildings. I like the separation because I use only classic smilies in the classic part and newer minifigs in the modular one. This also allows me the have basically two town layouts so the common buildings in sets like hotels and restaurants arnt too common in either. My advice would basically be to split the layout so that everything works better together.
  10. I would like to see two things from the next release. 1. A civilian ship with 3 civilians, 2 pirates (not the captain), and a different figure head. $40- $50 range 2. A soldier battle pack like the knight or dwarf one with mostly generic figures and perhaps a cabin boy with a new torso $15 Overall I would like more base plates in all the sets.
  11. Looks good but I think the hood ornament would look better in silver and the windshield would be better as some other windshield piece. What torso is the man on the left wearing? I can't wait to see the whole MOC.
  12. I got it as soon as it came out and I still like it. While it is not as detailed as the other 3 it was also less expensive. The style may not go together as well as the others but I think the blue works well. Like Svelte said the gate part looks odd wherever you put it so I modified my to fit better. It's also nice to have the entire line as a collection too.
  13. It would certainly be computer animation because otherwise each 1/2 hour episode would take forever to make. I don't think it would be bad if it wasn't for really little kids.
  14. That would be really the only reason for me to buy anything if they don't have minifigs. 2009 Dodge Challenger, my dream car...
  15. This is incredible, it can move just like the real thing too.
  16. I was hoping for something better than this but I think I'll wait until we have clear pics. I for one want an underwater city with mermaids that the good guys protect. Edit: Where are the minifigs that everyone is talking about?
  17. These are some very interesting pictures but too bad they never made it into sets. Those wigs look fantastic.
  18. I noticed that too. Thankfully though most of those are in expensive sets so it is unlikely that they become too common.
  19. That is the exact same thing I thought. This should fit well in my new Harry Potter layout.
  20. I in fact believe that you have converted me. Those are some good points that you bring up in a very well done article.
  21. I personally would love to se the line come back, but the closest things we have now are the vintage minifig packs.
  22. Those singing faces will be nice. I can see it now, a Lego opera. I also like how the boy is afraid of the cat. I'm also glad that this set and other 2009 city sets are using the short legs so often. They have been around a little while and they really add diversity to a city population. I'm getting this to build on Christmas day for sure. edit: what is the power functions symbol for?
  23. I am an owner of the castle tic-tack-toe game and the base is glued to the box. I removed the base but there is glue on the bottom though.
  24. When every building you see you think of how to build it in Lego.
  25. I personally don't usually like the use of clay to make things like this, part of the fun of a brickfilm is that its Lego, you could just do a claymation film instead. Share some pictures though, it would be nice to see how well they fit in your movie.
