That's what I mean - has the app been updated, or does it still cause the steering to freak out?

Mic taking the credit again... Techlug credits him as the designer for 42055, despite the fact that both he and Olav worked on it. Cool! Smyths should knock it down in no time. Morten - do let us know if your version has the same "quirks" as the one @Sariel reviewed.

Apparently TLG were divided on whether or not to do Star Wars in the first place. Remember when Technic got a taste of the violence?

I can see @grohl lurking in the back of the room. Wonder how he feels about this. I can guess how Markus feels...
-
He may not be able to share them now. Since this is a cancelled set, distributing the manual might cause trouble.

42100 was delayed because of hitches related to CONTROL+. This is political. Waaaaay more serious. I do feel for Markus, though.

Just answering Magical Duck (there's a sentence I never thought I'd write). But back on topic! Volvo Not-Quite-A60H, whee! Woah! Back off-topic! I will fight for that strange little truck! It's fun to drive about and those body panels are pretty neat. It reminds me of the odd futuristic sets TLG did around the turn of the millennium. Maybe it's more of a nostalgia thing... And back on-topic. I'd say it's a software thing. I don't see how the physical state of the motor would be a factor. Surely you'd hear a weird noise or something if the motor was duff.
-
Don't think this is for me. It's too inauthentic and rough around the edges, it has no B-model unlike previous Volvo sets, and where the hell is the suspension? Plus TLG are so unnerved by the inccuracies that they couldn't even bring themselves to slap the model designation on it, the steering freaking out is beyond ridiculous (call me a pessimist, but I don't see TLG fixing that bug in two weeks) and the steering joint has the sturdiness of a pipe cleaner. I still love that engine bay, though. I'm sorry, but 8264 does it better. Bogies!

42097 Spider Crane
Maaboo the Witch replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah. We don't need him around. I second that. The crane has that good ol' Alfredo flimsiness in places and the slewing of the boom (when extended) is utterly awkward (bear in mind that this boom was built for 42082 ), but there's nothing else like it and who wouldn't want gear racks in yellow? Plus the B-model is a fun build if nothing else, and the stabilizers really work with that one. -
Cool. Apparently, the A60H is going to see action on massive civil works such as HS2.

Don't look at me mate, I got the 42099 for £100. 42114 is good value for money when compared to 42099's RRP, especially considering it has double the parts and similar number of C+ components. And a license as well!
