  1. It's more than likely to be an Alfred job. The 3x3 curved liftarms in the front follow a similar pattern to those in 8071. It also copies Uwe's technique for the front of the cab, and of course there's the two shades of colour separated by white trim. Personally I'm not keen on the cab pillars; the technique from 42098 would look better. The cab doesn't seem to tilt either, which is a letdown and a wasted opportunity. Oh, and no opening doors either.
  2. Hey @Blakbird, just a quick question. Does/did your 8283 have frictionless pins in the boom extension mechanism? I've looked quite closely and the rearmost pin looks grey rather than black.
  3. Two years, actually. 2017 didn't have a 4000-part set either - the flagship for that year was 42070, which only had 1862 parts. Yes, there was 42069, but that didn't scratch 3000, let alone 4000.
  4. 2013 also had one, the 41999. Disturbing trend though.
  5. Some sets (Stunt Rally, Drome Racers) included instructions for alternates. It was actually the late 2000's when B-models disappeared from Star Wars; the 2007 wave was the first to not include them. Of course, 2008 was the year when Technic B-model instructions went digital/print-only, and I think TLG has been trying to eliminate them ever since. This year, I think we've seen their plans come to fruition...
  6. C+ is TLG's attempt to stay relevant in the age of smartphones. No more, no less.
  7. It's the underbite on the front that irritates me the most. It looks sloppy and gappy.
  8. It could just be a glorified battery box using the same (or similar) mould as the hub.
  9. Which means it shouldn't have been released yet. PF was perfect.
  10. Uh, we can see the final result. My mind is hardly blown.
  11. Even so, the cab is just too high and looks unfinished.
  12. It's against the creative ethos of TLG if you ask me.
  13. It's piss-poor. A token effort would have been to offer a front-discharge truck (as seen in the US) as a B-model. Not hard.
  14. No tailgate either. That would have been a great feature.
  15. Nice to see it has a payload! 1L beams are a good choice. "CM 42112" probably just means "Concrete/Cement Mixer 42112" so that gives little insight as to who designed it. Likely Alfred, given that it uses a lot of "of-the-moment" or simplified parts (biscuits, the drum) and has two shades of blue separated by white trim (two shades of green SBWT in 42080). Also, a crank for the drum! No B-model, though. That is becoming a disheartening trend.
  16. The real A60H has a tailgate. I'm not sure I can see one on 42114.
  17. Water tank. Never mind, @MajklSpajkl beat me to it.
  18. Definitely liking this puppy better the more I see of it. Think that dump bed sucks up most of the parts. It's massive!
  19. If we could get a better look at the number plate on the front, we'd be able to identify the designer.
