  1. Well done for doing something cool with one of the worst Technic sets ever!
  2. Well done to @kbalage! Much deserved. Also, as highlighted in his video - presenting the first alternate build for 42163, courtesy of @mic8per! It's not an official B-model, but it's something, at least.
  3. Yes, but AVCampos was making the point that TLG thought of the mechanism first, using the listed sets to illustrate the argument.
  4. 8094 is from 1990. What's your point, exactly?
  5. Young builders are more particular and perceptive than people seem to think.
  6. I'd like to retract my "reasonably attractive" comment.
  7. To be fair, he did give it a 2/5 for Authenticity (which I think was a bit generous). I mean, it looks alright - aside from the blue pins it's reasonably attractive even if it doesn't really resemble the real thing.
  8. Said it once, might as well say it again. Adorbs!
  9. Sariel's cons, slightly paraphrased: Wrong tyres Looks like a generic harvester, not the 9700 Green stickers don't match parts The gears on the harvesting unit shouldn't all rotate in the same direction Sooo, pretty much what a lot of us have been saying.
  10. Sariel has obtained a number of 1H sets, so we'll be getting some reviews!
  11. Just did some measurements and no, this 🐕 can't connect to the trailer from 42136 - the hitch on the harvester is too high.
  12. I dunno, I could see the space loader fitting a Tech-fig.
  13. Placing the two middle gears next to each other would produce the counter-rotation, with maybe a slightly off-centre drive gear attached to the wheels underneath. That wouldn't affect the size of the header much, and would achieve a more accurate spin direction in the other gears.
  14. No, that's just a clever way of hiding extra parts, like the additional T-part in 42053. It's not advertised as being an integral function or even a realistic detail.
  15. Yeah, I'm not doing TLG's job for them. But orienting to your main point, neither 42036 not 42092 are "real" vehicles; they're vague approximations, and can thus skimp on the details a bit. This set, on the other hand, is supposed to be a replica of an actual, existing vehicle, and it does not accurately represent the real thing even at the scale presented. *mic drop*
  16. But what motion is there is realistic, unlike the header on this set. 42121 is at least spared by not being a specifically badged, licensed vehicle, whereas this 🐕 professes to be a realistic portrayal of a John Deere 9700 forage harvester and is anything but. Even the bodywork is seriously off, and I'm one of the people who defended the shaping of 42078!
  17. Again, the linkage isn't realistic, but the motion is, and is as accurate as is possible at that scale. And I'm not sure what situation would warrant half of the blades on a forage header going the wrong way.
