I expected something dark and mystical but it surprised me in the good way. The overall design is just brilliant, very organic. I especially like the tilted part in the tower and the small Tudor styled sections everywhere. Great building sir!

Well I do reckon it's a great system, I stored my minifigs like this aswell at first but they collected to much dust way to fast hence why I disassembled them all in their parts.

My signature just contains an image of my latest MOC, it links to the thread here on EB.

This makes me wonder how glorious stage 5 will be! Love the idea of modernising it like we know Castles today. I love this parking lot area! Great Castle at its own, lovely details in shape and decoration. I have a question, do you rebuild every stage or is it a whole new moc like you could display all stages next to each other? Might be expensive but I would love to see that! Anyway good luck with building stage 5, and maybe a 7 as a futuristic one (if a Castle would survive stage 6). The whole display just looks so real, stunning work. Still like stage 3 the best. Keep at it man!

Far beyond the fortified kingdoms, deep in the cold and foggy medieval forest lay the homes of several creatures. Meet Calyva, not much is known about her but people say she speaks through witches. Calyva with her own personal 200 years old witch.. The place where she breeds her plans.. A closer look at the tower.. It has modest interior.. It even has a door in the back to look inside the cave.. So what is inside it? The moc is seperated into modules.. I'm really happy how this turned out, my largest (finished) moc untill now. Took me about 20 hours to complete in 3 days (I'm enjoying a vacation!) It might be a bit weird hence the fact I'm sharing this with you. I really want to know your thoughts about it. Any suggestions/remarkes/tips&tricks will be appreciated. Thanks for looking and reading, hope you've enjoyed my latest moc. Kevin.

Interesting debate here. Let's face the facts, humans always have been predators, that's nature. Compare recent world wars with ancient battlefields... In the end there is no difference at all . Massmurders, wiping out entire civilisations! Violence = nature. If Lego tells me they're having a no-violence filosophy, I disagree. Basically most themes are based on violence, wars. I do notice tho there is no man-to-man war but either man-to-creature war except for maybe Pirates. In that sense you'll never see realistic military nor roman themes. Take the Castle themes, it still is one yet annonymous royal army against a bunch of fantasy living evil skeletons with dragons and orcs feeding trolls that you get and not several entire Kingdoms in war for land nor political wars or crusades. I'm in with those orcs tho! Point is, Lego offers a fantastic fantasy world, if you want realism you'll have to make it happen by yourself. Even better, it actually fits Lego's filosophy the best.. I feel like it has been said many times before and will be mentionned again later on

I have my white plates in the same bin as my black plates at this moment, I don't see what you mean with permanent marks? At first sight there's nothing wrong with neither the white or black. Is it really not good to put black and white together? Anyway when I build a set without numbered bags, I just clash them all together and start building. Sets with numebered bag are just build bag per bag as in the instructions, I don't sort these bags. When I started on the MMV I was surprised not to have numbered bags so I thougt what the hell and opened each bag and let all pieces flow over my desk. It took me a while to build the MMV due to so many great small parts all over the place! I recommend sorting very large sets or sets with a huge amount of small bricks while building. As for the poll, no, I basically doin't sort out my sets.

Got me another 3 of these lil steamers. Excellent colors and partselection in my views, sets the total on 6 I also placed (my very first) bricklink order, mainly some minifigs heads I could use for future mocs and a couple of bricks I need a larger quantity from. A total off €50. I hope this adventure doesn't end in a nightmare, normally not since I choose the store carefully.

Sounds good to me, putting all ideas about the apocalypse itself, post-apoc lifestyle and needs to survive, in short to clear out as many details as possible, in 1 thread gives us the chance to discuss and share/find ideas pretty quickly/efficiently. Put all popular ideas into a poll to get a final agreement. Once everything is settled, it stays that way. BTW, I've added dark blue to the colorscheme as I was experimenting with it creating the figs and vehicle I started some time ago. Dark blue gives a bit color to the bley and black but still is neutral enough not to overwhelm. Besides, dark blue is the perfect colormatch for tan (at least a bit more appropriate for post-apoc than eg dark green, brown also is perfect but things could get to monotone).. I've completed 3 figs already (without accesoires), all have tan based torsos with grey helmets, combined with either a brown, black or dark blue pants. To bad I can't take or upload any pictures right now, within 2 days I must be able to snap pictures again. Just a thought.

Thanks for this info! I had no clue this was around, looks like there are some great articles online. To bad it would be to much of a hassel to get the magazine in my mailbox.

The piece is actually not that bad but considering I would brick build spikes if I need them, makes the piece rather useless to me except for maybe reference Funny how one person calls something crap while for the other it is usefull, makes the world go round I guess

It has taken me lots of my time but I did sort out my Lego and managed to store it and find it easily. Thing is, it's a never-ending-job.. Luckely i find it rather plesant to sort out Lego. Anyway, my collection is put into boxes, like in boxes often used in the kitchen -Note to myself: find another way to mark the boxes because these stickers ain't working pal.. Well I'd rather choose for these non-transparant boxes to protect the brickes even more to UV-rays. When you open the boxes, you'll find something like this.. I put all colors from the same part together, when I got a lot af the same color I start deviding that into subgroups. Plates are stacked and could get devided into small and large when I got to many of them. Another example are the tile boxes, colors are kept seperate. In case I get a larger amount of the same piece/color, it gets devided. Minifigs: That's basically how I sort and store my collection 24/7 and in case you're wondering, there also is a box like this one: ...It still is Lego..

Something more like 'I Am Legend'? Very near future (also 2012 if I'm correct) and sudden chance in things, the cure for cancer has been found, 4 years later almost every human is mutated. Maybe the near future would be better, otherwise it would get to spacey instead of post-apoc. I really like the mutants idea tho, but maybe it also is to obvious. Conclusion: it's harder than you think to set up this sort of groupproject. Discuss these things people, we need some uniform agreements before building anything. Anyway I'm open for all ideas.

Woot I really like the idea, I've more bricks now and putting together some figs for my own post-apoc mocs. I already started on a vehicle last month, now I'm pretty motivated to finish it and go further with it. So the city is gonna be fortified? Fortified to protect themselves (+/- normal people) against nuclear mutants? What year are we in and what will be the general colorcode? I'm suggesting a year around 2500, colors dark/light bley, tan, dark blue, black and brown? I'm pretty intrested in this thing, great idea after that Castle thing.

That's exactly what I've added too! I mean the nearest Lego store is more than 800km away... Thank God there's internet. Thanks for noticing us about the questionnaire, I love the way Lego wants to interact with their costumers to improve their company. BTW, what is this Brickjournal thing?
-
Ok, this brings up memories.. Now where did my old Blactron stuff go?! Perfect, I'm home for 2 weeks ( ) and have the time to clean up the attick, might find some more of my old Lego! Anyway, as a kid I mostly got space Lego (but loved Western more), I liked these figs. I voted Average. The robo aliens (red with black faces and transculent helmets) where excellent tho.

Why Can't I Add a Poll to My Thread?
Perterz replied to Algernon's topic in Forum Information and Help
Thanks for a response this fast! Sounds pretty logical about the polls. Well yeah it ain't a big deal, nor for me, I was just wondering these things. To bad there always have to be a few little kids/childish adults who're causing things like that. Thanks for pointing it out. -
Why Can't I Add a Poll to My Thread?
Perterz replied to Algernon's topic in Forum Information and Help
And why exactly is that you have to have a gazillion posts to be able to create a poll? Are we considered to stupid or what? I mean I've been admin on several fora, I know the deal. Same with not being able to post in Buy, Sell and Trade as a vassal? 500 posts takes me years... I'm not ranting here because I don't feel the need to make a poll or so, just asking myself why, what's the reason/cause? -
Great, some pictures. Like I said before, the detail is intense. Great way to make a simple towerconcept this attractive! Thanks for the share.

Should've made all water green Simple but cool idea, you should finish the series.. My favorite part of the MOC would be the top of the rock with the grass and the bikes. I really don't know why, it just looks good.

I bought a big Castle lot last month for €150.. It surprised me 4 times! It contained 7038, 7040, 7048, 7041, 7092, 7091, 7009, 7090, 5618 (first surprise, she failed to mention it was not 1 but at least 12 off those..), 5615 (here she also failed to mention it were at least 8 of them instead off 1, a nice second surprise), 5614 (same with this, there were 4 not 1, 3 surprises!) But the biggest surprise was yet to come! Apparently the lot contained this aswell: 6090 Royal Knight's Castle.... It's in used condition but I will clean it so I can sell it. Reason to sell is just I build with the newer bley shades of grey. Plus I could sell it with an extra off 2x 3732 (castle expanding set), I bought 2 of those but didn't realise it was old grey so it's useless for me. Anyway €150 seemed to be a good deal!

I've been on countless forums all over the internet but Eurobricks seems to be the only one where posting standards are high which is very good. Close to non-spam threads. I enjoyed the kind comments and help on my first MOCs a lot. People here seem to be forming a close group.

A bit odd towards the rear shapewise bit I still like it, I love the assymetrical setup. 1 question tho, that canvas, what piece is it or is this something custom made? Well done!
-
The mixed shades deffinatly add some sort off realism to the walls which isn't bad after all. It's a great start already to something excellent if you ask me! The modularity looks well done with good base shape and divisions. I actually like the interiors a lot, nice little details scattered through the rooms. To bad you're running out off bricks I also find it hard to complete a castle, heads up for those who do, tending to start all over any time while building.. *sight* maybe it's perfection that overpowers us

Would like to know that too.. That's just outrageous! Incredible detail and creativity for a concept 'that simple'. The fact it being gigantic makes me giggle even more Can't wait to see some detailed pictures of this beauty, keep building I'd say
