  1. I used to have a couple small Pirates sets from the years I believe somewhere during '93-'97 but I was more into Western Lego as a kid. Those Pirates sets always have been pretty neat imo. I've recently noticed the new sets but I don't find them that attractive except for Brickbeards Ship and the fort. The minifigs are excellent tho, I bought the fort past week mainly for its nice parts as an addition to my Castle collection. I made myself stick to 1 or 2 themes to maintain somewhat control over myself (Castle). I buy pretty much every set (in duplicate) available from the theme tho. That means I tend to look at sets released in other themes more as partpacks, Creator and Pirates seem to be the only ones tho lol. Saying current Pirates sets deffinately aren't bad, I haven't owned enough sets before nor do I own enough now (just 1) to state the current sets are worse than the older ones.
  2. Looking good, perhaps the walls could have been a bit more 'stony' with a few darker and lighter bricks cluttered in them. But that also is nothing new.. Nice extra's with the windowshutters and smoke from the shimney! What is the piece the baker is holding? Never saw it before.
  3. The wall decorations + it's colorsheme is just wonderfull, looks very intresting. Small scenery with lots of things to discover, great work.
  4. Agreed, very well done! O yeah I guess Age Of Empires is the only series off games I ever played, ever! [OFFTOPIC]Except for Need For Speed Underground (wich actually sucks) since I have this love for cars aswell, that's also why I think those NFSU games suck.[/OFFTOPIC] Where's that hairpiece from if I may ask?
  5. That's a pretty sweet little building! Would really fit the Market Village. Lovely interior and I absolutely loved the sitting lady and the painter!
  6. I loved the Western Lego alot when I was a kid, I used to have the Sheriff's Lock Up, Weapons Wagon, Sheriff's Showdown and Frontier Patrol.. Lucky me but to bad I have absolutely nothing left from it except for some wagonwheels, 2 baseplates, some plants, 4 minifig heads, 2 blue torsos and legs, a Sheriff's hat, the prison door and the Sheriffs sign from the Lock Up set I would buy all sets if they were sold again or if they laungh a new western theme with high quality sets! I recently got my hands on a complete original Bandits Secret Hideout tho, phenomenal set! My favorite would be the Sheriff's Lock Up, unimaginable how many hours I was satisfied playing with that set, great playability and quality. I also loved the special bricks and the number off awesome minifigs the sets came with..
  7. That's pretty nice, loving the colors and balance.
  8. Good point with those transparent bricks, forgot they existed. A couple of those 1x2 trans. plates are added to the list of seperate needed pieces! It is my very first time I try water, left alone a waterfall so I appreciate the kind words and tips! Thanks.
  9. Well yeah I posted this thread there but it got moved to right here, so I opened a wipthread dedicated to the diorama only in the History and Adventure subforum now. Thanks for the warm welcome! Kevin.
  10. Hi all, I recently took the courage to break down my collection of Castle sets and a couple of Creator houses to build this thing I've been thinking on for a while now. At first I was planning on creating several small Medieval MOCs but in the end I concluded building 1 or 2 bigger MOCs is a better use for my Lego pieces. OK, I love the look off boxes filled with brand new Lego bricks ready for building and it's nice to have them but I rather choose for a nice showcase model featuring cool stuff to look at. After brainstorming for days and inspiring myself from awesome creations I've seen here on this site, I just started building. I hope to combine my lil ideas to 1 piece/scenery/diorama and make it work. New for me is the fact I actually take pictures from the progress. Well I managed to bring you the pictures :) I hope it's OK to post this, it's my first MOC in years btw, some advice, remarks or any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks for reading and looking, I hope you like it! The first bricks, some rocks, start of the river with the fall and grass.. The rocks developped pretty quick. Note to myself: already used about 20-25 of those 1x1x2/3 dark bley slopes, gonna need atleast 50 more.. Also I'm not that sure I will keep the white pieces on the fall? + construction of the river, a quick and easy solution that gives me the effect I was looking for.. And how it exsists at this very moment.. the riverbase and connection.. That was it for now, cheers! Kevin.
  11. Hi all, as a kid there was nothing but Lego for me but there were years thet I forgot about Lego. Recently, and I still don't know how or what brought me into these bricks again, I bought some Lego again :) I was very pleased with it and loved the new brown colors/pieces of the Castle range. Also those orcs are fabulous! Anyway nowadays I own pretty much all Castle sets available and the utterly famous Cafz Corner, also the Green Grocer and Market Street are connected to it. Amazing pieces of art! Seems like I came back into these Legos at the right moment.. Feels meant to be :scared: The Medieval Market Village is the set that made me start MOC'ing again ever since I was a lil kid. I broke every set I bought down (yes including the village! but that's only cuz there's a second one on the way...) and noticed I have quite a good collection of bricks to start with. All bricks are new cuz I don't have a single brick left from my childhood collection except for a couple big rocks, flowers and trees which come in handy right now. I'm not an super subliminal artist but I'm curious in how my MOCs will develep thru time and good advice. With that in mind I would like to present you some wips. First one is this 'Orcs End Passage' or something like that which I started yesterday in an inspirational vibe. I worked on it for an hour or maybe 2 and looks like this now, far from done tho So who's gonna save the maiden?! Second one is meant to become a diorama featuring all my ides in big Medival scenery, I hope I can pull this off... The very first bricks are placed :D And some things for later use... Some advice and imputs for the wips would be appreciated! Greetings from Belgium, Kevin (22)
