DNR Shifter Issue
grego18f replied to StudWorks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi @StudWorks, From what I can see, the front part of your chassis is very similar compared to @Jeroen Ottens's DB11. If so, I can propose you the Mod done on the DNR console. https://bricksafe.com/pages/grego18f/mack-granite/aston-martin-db11---mods Feel free to use it if you find it useful! -
Wow, this version is amazing. Before seeing this, I could not think of a smoother version. I also like the area in front of the bulldog, which is very characteristic. This reminds me of the trucks I saw when I passed 4 months in Québec (along with the axle back ones). I Will certainly build it one day! One question: You always present your MODs using HQ renders. I love them but I wonder, do you build them in real life before or are you one of those peoples who are able to create working models digitally?

[WIP] 1:22 Volvo FH16 750
grego18f replied to grego18f's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You are right. This is why there is a mudguard between the two axles. Don't worry, it won't last long in this configuration -

Thank you! Thank you! You know, the chassis part took quite an amount of time to get it right... I am sure your version will be better -

Thank you @Void_S ! Indeed, compactness was a critical feature to make this project alive... Your rear axle is very much appreciated, even though I don't think it will be a "simple" tractor unit... I don't really know yet which configuration to adopt but I want to have a playable model . I am looking forward to seeing your Granite MHD! Will it be the axle forward Granite as the ones I see on Google Images? -

Actually, the poor quality photo doesn't make justice to the MOC... That's better now I am pretty happy about the result though, especially the door. In my opinion, the new design is much slicker (not a plate and slope stack), the transition is better, it has a correct mudguard shape, it is more Technic-ish and uses fewer parts. But this a matter of taste It is sunny today (even being cold) so I will try to take better photos. Done About the equipment, what would you prefer? Logging, knuckle crane, ...? -

[MOC] Iveco Skip Loader
grego18f replied to Thirdwigg's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice "little" truck! It is instantly recognizable. Nice color combo too, and cool functions. The only question I have is why aren't you using a differential between the rear wheels?- 23 replies

OK Then, I will keep this bumper! Time to focus on the cab! -

grego18f replied to grego18f's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@mpj, your version being at the very first stage, it definitely looks better than mine! I especially love the grill area, where the holes in the beams match the look of the real thing. and you have a proper footstep (even though to have this, the bumper has to be 1 stud deeper than it should be. Did you consider the way you will tilt the cabin? Because part of my ugly grill is due to the same linkage as in the 42078, and the remote steering... -

Thanks guys! I don't understand what you are meaning.. The cab will sit on the engine when lowered. Or did you refer to some paneling so that we can't see the engine revving from the cab? In this case, I don't know if I will hide it because it is hardly visible from the outside ... Don't be too optimistic my friend! I tend to develop concepts but not to finish them... Talking about this, I think I will open a thread when I could show some concepts. Narrower tires would be great but do they exist in this size (49.5mm)? I didn't find any on Google... Please, do it . Depending on how far you are in the development process, I think we could reunite the best parts of the two MOCs! On even better, collaborate! Regarding the WIP, I don't know yet which axle configuration to adopt. I am really thinking about making the entire thing modular. The steering mechanism allows connecting one or more steering axles. -
Hi, Lately, I have been trying to figure out how to build a 1:22 scale truck (using the same tires as the Mack Anthem set) in the European configuration, meaning that the engine and the steering mechanism have to be under the cabin. I think I succeeded. There is an inline 6 engine, and the steering uses levers as in the 42078 set. The steering HOG will be linked to the cabin by using a CV-joint. The movement is inverted, but I plan to put a 8:24 reduction in the cabin. The steering wheel can also be connected using the same mechanism as in @Void_S Mack F700. At this stage, I think I am going to reproduce a VOLVO FH16 750: Here are the pics (sorry for the messy background!): The DBG axle joiner shows the axle which will connect to the cabin. I am not happy at all about how the cabin is going. I think it lacks some fluidity, even though I tried to replicate the specific wheel arch... At the very beginning, this truck wasn't meant to be a Volvo but a Scania. As some of you certainly know, I love Scania . I just had issues figuring out how to build the front bumper... Here is the cleanest version: That's all for now! Any comments and ideas are very welcome.

Wow, that's a huge trailer . I really like your step deck trailer! I copied your steering system from the wheel hub to the steering wheel. This highly simplifies the mechanics of the European truck I am building. The most crucial parts (front part of the chassis + bumper ) are done so I should show something soon

The blue brothers
grego18f replied to Jeroen Ottens's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice cars @Jeroen Ottens ! I must admit I tend to prefer the Azur one For the PF Tribute, why didn't you try to call it "Gallardo" or "LP520 Spider"? I don't think you will create any copyrights issues with these kinds of names . As said earlier, I think a demo video of each car would be profitable, even more when there are paid instructions! -
Very nice work on the HOG version too! I also prefer this color combo and, given the very limited amount of parts in dark azure, it is amazing. The only drawback I see is the need for external gears "everywhere" to operate the functions. But don't take it to seriously, I am not able to build such a MOC .

Very nice rendition of an iconic truck I myself planned on building a w900 at this scale. As you have done it very well, I will move to a European truck! Nice use of the virtual pivot steering. Too bad your setup is too wide for my needs. I will definitely look at it!- 25 replies

Mack Granite 6x4 dump truck

Wow, a 9 + R pneumatic gearbox . From the image you posted, you show the transmission. Could we have more information on this? Very interesting specs, can't wait to see progress on it! -
Mack Granite 6x4 dump truck
grego18f replied to grego18f's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You are true there is a huge mix... Engine and interior from Anthem, Rear section from you . I am not a fast MOCer so I tend to prefer modifying existing things... Hard work has been done on getting accurate proportions (shorter hood, lower cabin, wider grill...) and I am quite happy with it. The 12t bevel gear is still here to power the salt spreader indeed. Just a few mods are needed to your design to fasten it (my tipper is 2 studs longer from memory). -

Hi, @Void_S kindly created free PDF instructions. Feel free to build it and indicate any mistake . Here is the link Please note that this version is a bit different compared to the original LDD model. -
Oh wow, wonderfull MODs guys I think my favorite is @rm8's.

I thought I was crazy Thank you for pointing it out! In my case, I observed that the tan 20t double bevel gear has more friction when put next to a beam than the old grey one... I didn't notice the different tooth design in the 20t clutch gear... I think I will use my old gears as much as possible in gearboxes...
