Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
smokebelch replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've always used the scarred anakin head from the Darth's tranformation set from Revenge of the Sith, tried swapping over the headdress to the new piece from POP line but didnt like how bulky it was so have kept the original for the mo. You can see a bit from this picture- Bounty Hunters by smokebelch, on Flickr -
I reckon that a Rancor is very likely if we get a Jabba's palace set next year- they would have to add something new, and a rancor pit/ trap door would be a great play feature. Personally i'd love a Bantha- would be great to photo ... Though unfortunatly I think its unlikely to happen.

Nice shots everyone So nice to see the thread going strong- and we're heading to 100 pages too I'll have to pull my finger out and get a new Lego shot done to celebrate!

Couple of new ones from me, went out to try for a couple of Beach shots yesterday- The Indy one turned out ok (see below)... then the wind picked up, and then 5 minutes later it started raining! Ah the british weather for you ;) Managed to get this one, thought the sand blowing across added a nice touch (& this was about the only shot where both figs are standing upright without blowing over!) Alas the rain ment I didn't get a chance to take the Dewback shot I had planned... Mine's a S8100fd. Yeah a tripod's always useful, and as solscud007 says using a timer to take the shot will help with camera shake/ blur. Another really simple way to avoid this is to just place the camera on a flat surface when you take the shot- a lot of the time I just have the camera on my desk when taking shots- if you use the timer as well you should't get any blurs at all. Also make sure you have the camera set to macro for those close up lego shots, some of the blur could be coming from the focus not being correct.

Cheers for the comments on my shots Just a Fujifilm finepix- only a bridge type camera so has a fixed lens, but lets me play round with the settings. Only cost around £150 (bout a year ago). People always seem supprised that i've not got a DSLR, but just goes to show that you don't need a really expensive camera to take some cool looking shots. Though a decent macro feature is a must for Lego shots Oh and liking your shots, really nice stuff. The first with Luke under the AT-AT foot is my fav, looking forward to seeing more of your work

Some nice new shots there Burman! Your shots are really good- very crisp photography excellent stuff! Been a while since I dropped in here, thanks to everyone for keeping the thread going- some great new shots being added from some new faces which is excellent. And of course fenris is continuing with his awesome shots- great stuff buddy Quick shout out for the flickr Lego Star Wars group KimT has created on flickr for grouping all the amazing work on this thread. He's made me and fenris admins- give us a shout to add your work into the group- be awesome to have all the great shots on here in one place for people to browse through. If your not on flickr- join up!, its free for a basic account, and just add your shots over there. Eurobricks Star Wars Lego Photgraphy Pool Hopefully get my creative juices going for some new shots myself soon as well- been way too long! Quick edit to answer this- Can't speak for others but all my shots are pretty much photoshop free. Will usually just tweak the contrast & brightness a bit, aside from some cropping occasionally thats it- I know fenris is the same. Nothing against photoshop but I just like to use real locations/ lighting to get the shots I want... im also really rubbish at using editing software, and can't be bothered to learn

Umm shouldn't that be 'avoidING'... and I think you've used 'THEY' rather than 'THERE' in the last sentence... sorry just amuses me when someone pulls someone else up on their grammar... with bad grammar!. Anyways back on topic- nice Hoth Trooper pics Burman I agree with fenris the first one is really cool, the depth of field is really great.

Still has ONLY the lo-fi version when viewing on my Ipod touch- looks ok but as I do most of my browsing on my Touch its nice to have the full site accesible as well.
-
Any update on being able to turn off the mobile/lofi theme when viewing on an Ipod?
-
Looks the same on my Touch. The new forums look great on my PC :) The old ones looked exactly the same on my Ipod as they did on the PC, would be nice to have the option to turn off the lo-fi mobile version when viewing the new forum on my ipod.

Was playing round with a new Oola shot (Custom by Arealight)- and here's the result

Is there any way to switch off the lo-fi theme when viewing on Ipod touch/Iphone? I do most of my forum browsing on my touch, and its really frustrating to not be able to access the full site. Had a good look round and can't see any option to switch between the two :(
