Would imagine its the Arealight Oola, nice custom- though looking forward to some shots of the new official version. Heres an old an shot of my Arealight Oola Oola by smokebelch, on Flickr -
Haha yeah sorry, didn't like to point out a mistake- its always the same when I build a ship, will end up with something I've missed and have 'spare' (or previously unseen ) I only noticed when I thought 'hang on a minute I didn't get all those cheese wedges extra!'

Nice review, definatly agree this is bar far the best Tie Fighter yet. As always a bit overpriced in the UK, but all the minifigs are excellent. The imperial trooper has a new torso also (with back print), and love the new Death Star trooper. And the new R5 heads are beautiful Also notice that 2 of the spare light bley cheese slopes you have listed as spares, are supposed to go either side of the pilot control panel in the front of the cockpit

Thats awesome! Im a huge Hellboy fan, I think you've captured the big red fella perfectly- nice job

I like some of the straight forward minifig shots- but the price!!!! Wow! I guess he can charge that much because of who he is, but seriously save yourself some coin and pick up some of Avanauts or Powerpigs prints from Redbubble- way cheaper (way, way, way! Cheaper in fact ) and much better to be honest. Much more thought and care goes into their work, and a love for Star Wars and Lego too, which to be honest im not getting from these...

Very Rare 'Smooth Hair' Leia For Sale - Star Wars

Quick update to add a photo- Dropped price down to £40 delivered. Drop me a line if any interest. Cheers! -
Hey guys, Just been sorting through my minifig collection and to be honest had forgotton I had this- http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw175a Its the very rare mis-mold of Princess Leia with smooth hair, mine is Leia in her Hoth outfit which came in my 2006 X-Wing set (6212)- which I bought at a store in 2009- but the hair is exactly the same as the one on Bricklink of Leia in her episode IV outfit. Been confirmed by several others on the boards here that this did indeed appear in a few of the 6212 X-wing sets as well as the tantive IV ship where the mis-mold was more commanly found. Not many of these about and very hard to find, and its a genuine Lego part. I don't really sell any of my Lego, but seeing how rare this is I thought id post it up here and see if anyone was interested. Figure and hair is in like new condition figure has been stored in a baggie since I bought it. Id be looking for £50 £40 delivered worldwide- drop me a PM if anyone is interested, priced lower than current prices on Bricklink. If you'd like photos happy to email to you. Thanks for looking

Great review Have to say I was really on the fence about this set after owning the last X-Wing, was thinking of just picking up the 2 new minifigs from Bricklink. However caved in the other day and have just built mine and it really is so much better than the last. All the little details really do make a differance, would highly recommened it if you are undecided having owned the previous one. The stickers are a pain, though I've got my printed tiles for the wing markings I can sub over from the last one, and they are pretty cheap to get from Bricklink to finish off the bottom wings. I would echo the setiment about the 'snapping' shut of the wings being a bit forceful, after a few open and shuts on mine the bricks loosen on the wing joints- however the upside is the mechanism not taking up as much room as in the old one. Also I know that here in the UK we are lucky to have this set availible already, but had to laugh when I was in ToysRUs yesterday and they STILL have the old X-Wing on 'sale' for £49.99! the same price I had just paid for the brand new one in Argos! Ah good old ToysRUs and there inflated prices

Thanks Mr Man Cheers Brickdoctor- yeah the sandpaper's not perfect, but was just a quick addition as had some laying around. Used a yellow light as well with that one. Would have ideally done a shot on the actual beach, but weather is horrible at the mo Here's another, again would have been better outdoors but have to make do with a quick indoor set-up Bad Motivator by smokebelch, on Flickr

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
smokebelch replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
See my reply above its NOT connected with a pin- its a black lightsaber handle with the end cut off. Works perfectly if your happy to cut it, and the colour matches the droid. For the white R2 units I use this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6587 in white, again with a bit trimmed off, unfortunatly they dont come in black so had an experiment with the saber handle. Shot with both droids with third legs- Blacker Than Black by smokebelch, on Flickr -

Nope- its a black lightsaber handle with one end cut off, works well for third legs on the black astromech droids. -
Getting there- shows what I said about the narrow focus- you have the pod blurry in the background, but also the Sandtrooper at the front is also a bit out of focus, where the Orange Pauldron Sandtrooper is in focus. Where they are stood apart there's gonna be no way round that, but maybe try having both Troopers together in the foreground the camera will then focus on them and they should both be sharp.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
smokebelch replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah thats always amused me particully on Endor Do you not think we're gonna stand out a bit here?... by smokebelch, on Flickr Ahem anyways back on topic Gotta say im very much liking all the new sets this year. Have to say there wasn't much that interested me in 2011, but most of the 2012 sets im gonna get. The new Tie (which i've just build) really is beautiful, and a lovely selection of minifigs. Really love the new Sandtroopers too. The new Astromech R5 head is so nice- Blacker Than Black by smokebelch, on Flickr And while not the huge set that it perhaps could have been, really like the look of Jabbas Palace. Some excellent new figs, nice to see that it appears to be a completly new sculpt for Jabba (when we could have just got the old one with print), new printed Gamorrean, Booshh, and hopefully a Jabba goon (would be so happy if its Ree Yees!). And im sure that somewhere down the line we will get a Rancor Pit- given how well the Star Wars Lego line does i'd be really suprised not to see it at some point. I'd bet that we will get a new Sailbarge as well at some point, given the new sculpt Jabba they are gonna want to use him in a few sets at least. -
Thanks, as always still lit with my trusty old iPod touch Yeah that'll be the macro function- they will often list it as flowers. Just make sure you aim it at whatever you want to be in focus in the shot, when your shooting using the macro function you get a very narrow depth of field, meaning you'll have whatever is in the background blurry but whatever the main focal point is nice and sharp. As an example using the shot you posted, you MAY find the camera would automatically focus on the escape pod in the background meaning the minifigs would be blurry. So long as you make sure you aim at the figs when focusing you should get nice result. Best of luck

Thanks just lit by good old sunlight, always the best- though given the weather in the UK often a rareity! Best place to upload I find is flickr, its free for a regular account and you can upload your shots in full resolution and then link to them in any size you like. I just use JPeg for mine, ive only got a relativly basic camera and now edit my shots on my iPad so they are generally not large file sizes. Really am a pretty amateur photographer- always pleased when people think im a pro and have a full DSLR, only got a £100 camera! Started out taking shots with my camera phone All my 'outdoor' shots are taken outdoors, either beach for 'tatooine' or forest for 'endor' best light you can have is real sunlight. Just need a bit of patience, and take LOTS of shots- will usually take over 100 and get em down to a couple when editing. If you get down low (very low!) you can get a great sense of scale with lego in a real world environment- just takes some experimenting. All my indoor shots with Lego I just use a plain white piece of A4 paper as a backdrop- no real room for lightboxes etc, and this works really well given the small size if Lego Minifigs. Best thing to do to get your shots in focus is to maje sure you've got the Macro function turned on on your camera, most cameras should have this option. Hope that helps
