MOC: The Lego Pink Dolphin Hotel is nearing completion
ACCURATEin replied to ACCURATEin's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the comments everybody! If I order about 12 more of the 6x16 plates, the main tower will be able to reach 10 levels. There are enough leftover pieces to make that happen. With this build i'm hoping to inspire a few of the female Lego builders. I'm about to start working at the brand new Lego store that just opened a month ago. Hopefully I will be able to display this hotel so everyone can see it. It will serve more of a purpose there than in my living room. -
The everlasting pink hotel project is getting close to completion. As always, there will forever be something that can be changed, modified, moved around, or scratched from any Lego build. We came up with a name for the hotel as well! 'The Pink Dolphin Hotel' After a quick google search, we discovered there are a few rare albino bottlenose dolphins in the world, which appear pink in color. It was a perfect match! Also included with the hotel is a working elevator. I hope to use the mindstorms program to control the elevator. A video as always will follow! Here are a couple photos and a flickr link to the rest. Enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/38995932@N02/...57622201772806/

I also meant to tell you the green on the tow truck reminds me of this famous towing company based out of Chicago. They have a show on SPEEDTV that I like to watch. I forget the name of the company. They have all sorts of trucks, big and small.

The use of tiles really makes it complete the look.

Maritime cargo transportation themes and sets

I remember as a child I also dreamed of having one of the seaports. -
The frequency between your batches of vehicles is picking up in speed! Yet another good set of creations. Is there any chance that the ambulance and flatbed that i've posted served as inspiration for you?! Nice work!

I really like that fire engine. Good work! What's next on the build list?

Someone's greatly expanded Airport Shuttle

WOAH! that's one of the longest monorail tracks i've seen. Reminds me of the video where the guy has an extended passenger train and the track goes all throughout his house. Have you guys seen that one?! -
I love that truck! Good work.

I volunteed at the Concord Mills grand opening today. It was a lot of fun! I enjoyed talking with lots of people and about their creations and ideas.

I wonder what you are working on next!

I'm truly sorry for the false information. I had received that information from the store manager of the brand new Lego retail store that just opened near where I live. He told me August 1st, but apparently he was entirely wrong. More recently, I visited a different Lego store over the weekend and the lady told me Sept 4 is the date that the Fire Brigade will go on sale.

pallet jack! great idea.

That is a very craft way to convert the van into an icecream truck! Very nice!

Thank you much! haha, no the house isn't built on ancient ruins despite the fact these is a an archway in the front. There is an intersection not far from my residence where there are four archways similar to the one I made out of Lego bricks. I think i know of the itch you're referring to...is it the 'i want to start clicking add to cart on bricklinks' itch? haha I get that itch a lot. The tan worked out well, thank you! The trans blue cylinder is very similar to a building near where I live. I should post a picture of the actual structure to see the similarities. Thank you Sir! Mixing the different styles is fun. Yes, definitely feel free to borrow any and every design you wish!

Next up is the progress being made on the Type One building. This is modeled off an actual building located in Tokyo, Japan. Spoon NSX entering the building. The building has two levels, and a mezzanine on the second level for more storage. Work being done under the hood of the Accord Euro R. Spoon S2000 under the mezzanine which is holding the Fit/Jazz. The building has an elevator in order to get the cars to the second floor and mezzanine. I am on the verge of getting this elevator functional via the power functions motor!! Thanks! Innovative is one of my favorite words. The tan and green pieces are mostly from bricklink, the windows, roof, and chimney are from the yellow beach house set, and the rest are from pickabrick. Black Spoon S2000 is about to have the motor pulled. Elevator on the bottom level preparing for battle. I tested the motor out later night using the chain from the bulldozer. It works! But the question is will it support the weight of the vehicle. I need to affix a counter weight to compensate for the weight of the elevator and vehicle, and then i think it will work. And in other motorsports news, Ferrari is preparing for their up and coming race! Also made some stickers for the school bus.. The goal is to get this building very wide and very tall. Over time, it will grow, and grow, and GROW!! Just need more trans light blue 1x2x5 bricks. They acquired an alternate source of energy! And lastly, a view from the 4th floor in the Pink Hotel.

It's time for some more updates from the City!! My girlfriend has been getting into the hobby and she designed her first house. We decided to break down the yellow beach house and convert it to tan, and she took the project head on while i worked on some other things in the city. Enjoy the pics!.. We'll start off with residential row.

I would have done a review on it, but as soon as I started building the house I began to modify it!! haha. Here is the first video clip of my city and the modified creator house can be seen. If you were to ask me, I would say just skip a review and go buy one now!! Great set.
