MAGLEV?!

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! I plan on adding more in the city. I've got a good amount of the classic town street baseplates that i intend on using as a course for a Formula 1 track. I'm going to build the pits and grandstands, and it will have around 6 F1 cars. There is also a really modern structure that is located a few miles from my residence that I am planning on making a model that resembles it. So stay tuned for more!

Thank you Sirs! It is an addiction, with no end in sight!

I've been in a trance for the past month or so in Lego City. It's something about Lego that just puts me in the zone. Enjoy the pics! It appears this lady is also in the zone.. Minfigs have to eat right!? EAT MOR CHICKEN! Chickfila coming to a Lego City near you. Engine 22. The Police received their first batch of segways! Police Maritime Interceptor. Spy shots of the Lego City IKEA coming Summer of 09!!

I rate that level of destruction as being a category 4 hurricane. Wind speeds between 131 and 154 mph. Catastrophic damage to structures. Extensive loss of life. Mother nature is a powerful force. On a side note, it looks as though they had fun.

MOC: Lego City Pink Hotel. Under construction.

Thank you! Vibrant is a good adjective for this color. The colors are a little distorted between the photos and the actual model. I think it looks about 3 times better in person. I wish everyone could see it. Thank you! I'm loving the way it's turning out. haha very true about Las Vegas. This hotel would fit right in. In fact, if someone were to build a pink hotel there, i'm sure most of the lady tourists would prefer to stay at a pink hotel over the others. Food for thought! -
If i were to pick a favorite, it would be the white van. All of the vehicles look fantastic though! Did you make a Uhaul sticker yet for the trailor?

I loved your police vessel so much that it made me go ahead and create mine earlier tonight. It has a holding cell in the hull. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I had to tear that MOC down in order to construct the fuel station. Maybe if i order some new bricks off bricklinks I can reconstruct it. I remember seeing your town with the Ferrari shop! It inspired me to build a shop for my town, which i haven't gotten to it. So many ideas! I'll have to take some more pics of the Green/white F1 car. It is the Honda Earthdreams car. Ultimately, more space would be optimal. There will definitely be expansion in the future. Thanks for the comments! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you very much! There will be a bed in each room along with whatever else we come up with. I'm thinking there will be two elevators, and will use a motor to make it go up and down. I hope it turns out! haha i'm glad it looked better than you expected. Thanks for commenting! Thank you! Lots and lots of pink ! Thank you! -
Hello folks! So the Lego addiction is getting out of control at this point. After visiting my parents over the weekend, I returned home with all of my old Lego sets from the 90s. Last night my girlfriend and I started to sort through all of the bricks and began the task of rebuilding some of them. We started on the Octan station, Octan fuel truck, Pizzeria, and the marina. I also discovered an old MOC that I had constructed as a child. Enjoy the pics! There is also a shot of the Pink Hotel as it has made a little progress as well. Multiple projects all at once! Up first, the MOC from the late 90s. Truck, trailor, and speed boat. Octan Racing FTW! One of my favorite sets from the 90s. Old Octan fuel truck. I'm going to modify this and make it 6 wide to match the size of the newer trucks. Old coastal marina getting close to completion. I might extend the plank on this one. Update of Lego City. And lastly an update of the Pink Hotel!! Thanks for looking and stay tuned for more!

Welcome to Eurobricks! Very nice MOC there. It looks rather official. You have successfully inspired me to modify an old police boat that i have yet to build.

MOC: Lego City Pink Hotel. Under construction.

Thank you! After browsing through the different types of bricks and panels that were available on bricklink, it became apparent that a pink lego creation might be possible. We were thinking it might have to be a primarily white hotel with pink accents, but it's looking like the entire exterior will be able to display pink. My girlfriend also requested to throw in a fountain, so that will have to be done for sure! Hopefully we can get closer to a state of completion as it's also exciting to see creations once they're done. It's fairly difficult at times deciding how to put the pink hues together in order for it to look good. And thank you! Thank you! We are trying to figure out what to call it, and perhaps it could be called the Grand Hotel! We are not sure how many levels it will have once it's complete. Thanks for the suggestions! Ideas so far include: -valet and check in -revolving entry door -elevator -cabana/bar/restaraunt -jacuzzi -pool -fountain - !!?!?!? Thank you for commenting!! Oh nice! We feel honored to be featured! Thank you for doing that. Exotica land! I like to include the crane in the build photos, just so the construction workers can receive some credit haha. And you're correct about the pathway...we'll have to widen that. Thank you! Balconies is correct. My girlfriend is figuring out a design for the beds at the moment. Right now they're looking to be purple. I love the trans light blue panels. They occupy a lot of space which is good because the pink bricks wouldnt be able to cover that much area. We've got a plethora of arches, so there will be many more to see. And lots of greenery! I want it to be enveloped in green. Thanks for the comments and suggestions! -
You did an excellent job for this being your first modular creation. I look forward to seeing more from you!

Oh sweet! I figured someone had already tried it. So it looks like 136 2x4s can fit into the cup. Which makes the bricks about 9 cents each. I'm about to go look what the best price of 2x4s are on brick link. It's nice Lego even posted the strategy on their website. Thanks for letting me know about that.

So the only Lego store i have had the opportunity to visit is the Downtown Disney store in Orlando, FL. I was looking at the cup sizes and was trying to determine what was the best way to optimize the space inside the cup so you can get the most for your money. My thought is that if you actually connect the bricks together it will allow for more bricks to fit inside the cup. Has anyone ever tried this? In North Carolina, where i reside, we've got our first Lego store opening in a couple of months. When i go there, i'm going to experiment with this idea and see how much space i can occupy with the plastic bricks. Anyone have their pick a brick story?!
-
...i think this was my first Lego set, if i remember correctly. I almost remember putting it together.
-
I'm not sure if you will see this post but terrific job in simulating the real structure with Lego. It makes me wonder if anyone has constructed Falling Water by Frank Lloyd Wright out of Lego. Has anyone seen one?! Might be a good project for someone.

This is a lovely addition you have made for the modular sets. It inspires me to make one.

So my girlfriend and I have recently discovered brinklink! (which will probably be the death of me) I was always wondering how people were able to obtain large amounts of the same type of brick. Bricklink was the answer! As we were browsing the different stores we came up with the idea to create something using the color pink. So we brainstormed for a bit, and the Atlantis Resort came to mind. We google image'd the word phrase "pink hotel' and came across pictures of the Royal Hawaiian and Beverly Hills Hotel. Immediately we started ordering pink bricks of all kinds and different shades. I had no idea what these elements would look like together as a unit or structure, so i wasn't sure what to expect. But after I sat down and started throwing something together, the hotel is starting to look decent to my surprise! There is no limit to this project, and no design is set in place, so it can take many different directions. It started out as a rectangle, and once I showed my girlfriend the first glimpse of what I had done, she told me she wanted it to have some depth. She suggested there should be wings that come off the main section, and each room needs to have a balcony. We are very excited about this project and are anxious to see what it looks like as the hotel grows in size. If you have any suggestions for what you would like to see included with this pink hotel, feel free to share your ideas! Here are some pictures of where it stands as of now... Two bonus photos!... We also modified the airport. Moved the rotating doors to the back side of the terminal. Extended the gate. Firestation took a different design as well. Stay tuned for updates. I'll probably just update this thread as the hotel makes progress. Thanks for looking!

Very nice layout of the town! I remember as a child wanting that airport, because i had the older version.

haha the Ferrari team is setting up their headquarters in Lego City. Brawn made some points in the Malaysian Grand Prix this past weekend. I'm addicted to Lego now! Some progress has been made in the city!!... Hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for more from Lego City!
