  1. I have been fiddling with the idea of updating my 4-Wide Flatbed Tow Truck for a while, and finally got around to do it. Here is the original: And here is the updated 6-wide version (I guess it's 8-wide if you include the bed): The idea to use the hinge hook arm from 6353 has been with me for a long time, and it was a good challenge to include it in this MOC. There is no elastic attached either, like in 6353. And Loaded and ready to go! It was nice to get some building in before the holidays begin. It's a great stress reliever too! Merry Christmas Everyone! As always, comments welcome.
  2. I am rather disappointed in this set, as it has been released many times over. I still like 6348 the best, but I understand the need to refresh certain sets. Other notes: - Not a fan of the gold brick, would have liked chrome better. - Don't like how the back axles of the trailer look. To simplified maybe? - Motorbike is too bulky (but that's another discussion) - I do like the cab of the truck and the addition of the jail cell in the back of the trailer. - Love the red car. Might be the only reason I pick up this set in the future. Looking more forward to the bank and chase sets coming out later.
  3. They should. I think the best route is to call them and do it over the phone. From my past experiences they are very helpful and willing to make whatever is wrong, right. Good luck.
  4. Wow that's a great MOC! Love the engine detail and cab construction. I think the only thing missing is big slicks on the back!
  5. One step closer to them in Canada, and one step closer to an empty wallet
  6. Hopefully this will be available, as I need another one. I have 10152, but when I was in college, the set was at my parents place. Got a little too much sun and ended up with yellowing of the pieces. Also the stickers all peeled. Probably one of worst mistakes I've made with my collection......
  7. Great review! I still need to find this set somewhere, most likely eBay. It would definately be a great addition to Century Skyway as well. Cheers.
  8. It was the WM at Mavis and Britannia Rd. So technically Mississauga. Good luck!
  9. I was at a Walmart in Toronto tonight and saw the new SW sets there. Hopefully the Minifigs wont be far behind......
  10. If they are $2.99 in the US, I can pretty much guarantee they will be $3.99 here. Every other piece of Lego is a cheaper price in the US, why not these? Man I remember when we used to get a small set for that price........
  11. Hey Ogre, what stores did you see them at? I have a complete set, but I know of people still searching for them in the GTA. Thanks.
  12. 6521 Emergency Repair Truck. Thank you eBay!
  13. This is great news. I could take on another PT job Hopefully they will have a PAB
  14. I deal with eBay a lot to add to my collection and I can never figure out why some sellers charge so much for shipping. I hardly ever pay over what the set actually sold for new, including shipping. That is a nice collection hes got, though.
  15. Okay, probably shouldn't have pulled that card, my rant got the better of me. I just find it amusing how on this site, and many other Lego sites that people seem that TLG is ripping them off somehow. If it's not these magnet sets, its the Minifig Series' distribution, or S@H and so on. I am just happy Lego is available to me and I can buy what I like. If I don't like something, it's an easy fix. I don't buy it. I think that's also one of the reasons I browse a lot of these threads and don't comment. Complaints seem trivial at most. I'll go back to browsing the threads now.....
  16. This is great news. Magnets are supposed to stick to a fridge and look good. If you wanted just the minifig, it was defeating the purpose. Buy them off Bricklink, or, here's a good one - BUY THE SETS WITH THEM IN IT! And for those saying that Lego wants to make more money - That's what they are supposed to do! They are a company that is trying to make a profit! I just can't get over the amount of people who hate everything that TLG does, and picks them apart piece by piece. They are obviously not true Lego fans. Enjoy the hobby, and be lucky TLG is here in the first place. If you don't like every little thing the do - quit buying and go somewhere else. They don't need you.
  17. You said it! I was in that store at Square One yesterday and couldn't believe how much their Lego was. When I left I kept wondering why anyone would buy anything from there. Prices were ridiculous.
  18. I've been lucky over the years. Here are a few: Model Team 5571 with box, Instruction and stickers not applied for $100 (missing a few pcs including a tire which I bought for $12 from eBay) Model Team 5590 and 5591 for $150 A tub of Lego at a yard sale for $75. (after going through the tub, it was really close to a $1000 worth of sets) Adventurers 5978 for $15, sealed. Happy Hunting!
  19. I know Lasting Toys in Mississauga has (or had) some Series 2 left. Most Wal-Marts had them as well. Also saw them at some Chapters locations. I missed the Series 1 figs in-store, but some TRU and WM did have them. For those in the Toronto area, I managed to get a complete set of sealed Series 1 off of Kijiji last week for $50 even (cheaper than retail!). The person I got them from had tons left too of both Series 1 & 2. Happy Hunting!
  20. Sent you a PM Thanks!
  21. Hi fellow Canucks. I was in 2 different Wal-Marts in the GTA this weekend and saw that some Toy Story 3 sets are Clearance priced. Most notably are the 7595 Army Men for $10 and 7592 Construct a Buzz for $25. Happy Hunting!
  22. Here is a pic of series 3: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54191445@N03/5015593235/
  23. It means I got a few of each. There were lots more left. I went to the Erin Mills WM today and they still had 3 boxes full. They had everything but I did not see any Spartans as you noticed. I did manage to get a box that wasn't torn up at all as well. A nice add to the collection. Happy Hunting!
  24. Minifigs are at the WalMart on Mavis and Britannia in Mississauga. It looked like 2 cases hit the shelves. I managed to get all the rare ones: 3 spartans, 2 Surfers and Pharaohs, and 1 each of Singer, Skiier and Disco dude. They had lots left.
