  1. I mean: (Linked to this from someone else, not sure who actually placed them side-by-side, but I didn't do it!)
  2. Oh. Those look real bad. Wow. Pat Lee style bad.
  3. I have always strongly disliked the Piraka talon foot, especially when used as hands. It is such an awkward and weird part. I would rather the new line move forward with new molds entirely.
  4. Again, per TLG's legal department, linking to leaked images violates their community guidelines. EB tightens the rules every once in awhile, but does so only when it is convenient and tends to flagrantly disregard the policy.
  5. Posting them, which includes linking to images posted off-site, is against the rules TLG has set up for community engagement. Eurobricks chooses to ignore this rule conveniently and enforce it sporadically.
  6. Oh, I got several of the piston add-on. I also have had zero problems with mask tolerance, all the ones I own and have used stay clipped up things easily and securely. I think people are exaggerating the looseness issue, to be honest.
  7. The first batch of parts they sent out to us consisted of: -trans-orange haus -onua masks -kopaka masks -onua shovels -yellow launchers -dark bley launcher inserts -white Tahu/Kopaka blades -silver boomerangs - trans-line eyes -silver new armour add-on -silver spider masks The second batch a few of us got at NYCC added: -Lewa masks -more Onua and Kopaka masks -more yellow launchers and grey inserts -dark bley spider legs -more lime eyes -clear haus -heads -more spiders
  8. It is one of the more numerous parts in the stuff TLG sent out to those of us under NDA before (and during) NYCC. As well as dark bley spider legs and the lime eye piece.
  9. You'd be surprised. The TF fandom is almost exclusively men who are at least 35. Heck, I'm 27 and this LEGO stuff still has me enraptured, and I'm one of the "kids" at several cons.
  10. Lowering the arms makes his arms longer, and awkwardly so. On that, it also removes the near-hunch the set possesses otherwise, and makes him a more generic humanoid instead of the trickstery- spiritely look the slight hunch gives him. Agree on the bits around the neck, but they don't work the same with the greater space between them and the shoulders. Seems dumb but the character- defining silhouettes and build aspects are one of the most important aspects of the new sets and one of the most impressive.
  11. I feel the lack of articulation on the neck, but moving the gearbox down just seems like the wrong solution to me, as it makes his set so much more generic and boring, and I really feel like it kills the visual character design on the set. I feel the same about the mods showing up giving Pohatu symmetrical arms. Really kills the visual design of the set for me, and makes the set far more generic, which I don't enjoy.
  12. Still think "ohwunner" doesn't really fit, since it seems in the past few months that earlier year fans are happier with the new line than latter-year fans. (Considering TLG has said they purposefully camped out in 01-03 when looking for concepts for the new line, I'm not surprised!) That concept art image of them all together is one of the best images from the new line. Looks great as a full-size poster, too. I've been thinking about the potential polybag... It'd be very cool if it ended up being the trans-orange hau. It's a cool piece and it'd be neat to see everyone else with one too.
  13. Sorry, I signed an NDA. But it doesn't take insider knowledge to see the new mask attachment system and new heads, the updated versions of the original masks which some containing massive variances from the G1 versions, and the "our mask of time will be a whole mask" comment, and realize the new mask of time won't look like the original. It blows my mind that people think we are going to get a top half of the mask that attaches to the limited edition, not mass-released mask of time from G1. That is one of the worst business decisions TLG could make.
  14. I can guarantee that regardless of the vahi showing up in all these animations, when we get a mask of time in plastic, it won't look like the one we had in G1, and it won't be the one in the animations either. Which makes arguing from the animations a little silly.
  15. Do yourself a favour and watch the . You only need to pay attention to the first two minutes. One minute and fiffy-five seconds in, the design director says "it's a reboot, so, all the talks and all the speculations, put them aside, it's a reboot."This is as close to Word of God as you can get on the subject. And it's on video, here for anyone and all to see. You know what's not on video, or recorded by anyone, anywhere? What we have no proof besides hearsay evidence of? Jordan Paxton saying the "Star Trek" comparison. The "we'll have the whole mask" comment. (I was there for the mask comment, standing right behind the TTV guys, they definitely asked the question, he definitely responded with "remember in the original line we had a guy in the movie make the mask of time, but it was different from the other masks, it was only half of a mask? In this line we will have a whole mask"). That they happened we take for granted (because, again, they did happen), but if you want to say people are taking me at too much authority (by the way, in this photo of the NYCC panel, that's me with the orange sunglasses and beard in the front row, in front of the camera, because I was there.) The facts themselves are that LEGO has said (repeatedly, if you watch the panel video) that the new line is a reboot. Everything else either of you two is arguing is the ridiculous part. LEGO, the owners, operators, and creators of the line, have already spoken. So when you're ready to talk facts please do so.
  16. Of course it was, you've seen it, right? Specifically referencing the physical look of the mask, as it covered only half the face. It was not a reference to the vahi being incomplete or missing part of itself.
  17. The talk from NYCC was -not- the "second half of the vahi". It was "we will have a whole mask" which is an entirely different concept.
  18. I don't think there was any doubt or debate about the mask if time being in the reboot. That was the only concrete part of the NYCC information Jordan Paxton gave out that everyone can agree on. That and the two team members at the NYCC panel leaned over to each other and said "should we tell them about the mask of time?" And the other said "they'll figure it out." Can be seen in the BZP video where they whisper to each other during the Temple of Time slide.
  19. Thanks! I've been wondering if anyone in the various communities has seen it. I got lucky, the guy who was supposed to have December broke his MOC and couldn't get it together in time. I hit the Clackamas Target today and they had everything but Onua and Gali. Gali's the one I really want, so that was unfortunate. But I finished out the Protectors and grabbed Pohatu. Going to pick up the last few at the LEGO store after launch with my display window discount.
  20. I hit Cascade Station, City Target, and Mall 205 Target today. Cascade was out (but they were the one with the spots for the entire assortment), City Target had the stone, jungle, and earth (but I already have those) but for 13.99 which is like, no. Mall 205 had nothing, though it had the new Chima polar bear mech. Go figure.
  21. Haha. The photo and text review were awesome though. I thought my PoF review turned out pretty okay. 2 Targets in Portland have the same three protectors, earth, stone, jungle. But no water, ice, or fire. The first three are marked on the shelf as "asst 1". There is a spot for the same priced sets that says "asst 2", so I guess that is the case divisions. People finding earth and water only are probably at stores only stocking one type from each assortment.
  22. Literally all he said. It is in reference to a question TTV asked about connections to G1. The problem, as I've explained before is this was a marketing department guy, and he's thinking "connections" like references or similarities to the original. Whereas fans hear "connections" and think lore. He said, roughly "remember in the first series we had the mask of time made by the character in the film, but it was weird, it was only half a mask? In the new series we will have the whole mask." So all the "LEGO said the last vahi was incomplete, we will see the other half, this connects the universes!!!" stuff is silly and misguided, and not at all in line with the one statement we have regarding the new mask.
  23. I don't know, my Tahu video review was pretty great. ;) Also meant to say I found the earth, stone, and jungle protectors in Portland, OR in the Cascade Station Target. Though a warning, they had one only of each and I bought them.
  24. Just real fast, but Germany is the number one LEGO market worldwide- USA is second. However for BIONICLE specifically, USA is the primary market. Also the half-a-mask thing is honestly getting tiring. The LEGO rep at NYCC said "we will have the whole mask." They aren't going to re-release the original mold vahi and an add-on. We will havea mask of time that covers the entire head. That's it.
  25. Not if you've got a good Fred Meyer. I've found so many new themes several weeks early at the one by my apartment here in Portland. I'm waiting to see if they break the BIONICLE street date too.
