Those arms make me a sad panda.

But Waspix was the best. :( Also, I agree that the Breakout line is the absolute best HF line so far. And I loved the animal wave.

Man, I'm getting tired of this "when will Breez show up thing". If someone in Europe wants to send one to me, I'll gladly Paypal back.

His cladding looks like regular, good ol' blue. His torso armour, on the other hand, looks almost trans-blue.

Robots don't have sexes. They don't have reproductive organs, or the biological necessity to reproduce. However, sex is not the same thing as gender, which is less biologically wired and is based more on personality and cultural assumptions. Your sex may help determine your gender, but your brain has more to say in that regard, and the interplay between your personality and the culture you live in will help determine it as well. Since the HF characters have AI, which means they have the robotic equivalent to free thought and will, equal in task and purpose to the human brain, and they have individual personalities, plus a culture that allows them to be of a different gendered mindset, they can, and do, have genders.

While the body is a little too short versus the image I super-imposed over it, the difference is about a Technic thin beam's difference, enough that I consider it negligible. From there, while the knees don't match up, you'll notice that the legs are almost the exact same length on the two images, with Breez's feet being the difference maker (since like I said, she's got rocket boots, and if the model used in the human image had heels on, they'd be the same height). Also, in the drawing you posted, the thighs and the calves are about the same length, about one-and-a-half heads each*. I think the biggest problem between that and the model you made in LDD is that humans have kneecaps, and TLG's figures do not. I've always built MOCs as if the knee was included "under the armour", usually as part of the lower leg, similar to the way people draw superhero outfits with high boots as having a flair that comes up over the knee and obscures it. Ergo, the two leg lengths should be pretty similar, if not outright the same. *"Upper legs", regarding the thigh, starts at about the same place the crotch ends, as to not include the hips and buttocks, which are not part of the legs in the sets, but are kind of part of the leg system on people.

The image is an actual person, with their features all removed in photoshop. The image and the set don't quite mesh, the biggest problem being that the set is at an angle, the photo not taken straight from the front like the woman's image was. And of course, trying to shrink one down to fit the other isn't a perfect science. When you account for that, it's an almost perfect match in the important areas. With the obvious exception of the lower arms, which I agree are too long (the biggest problem is that those fists are too big). But it's the legs that I am focusing on, because that seemed to be the biggest area of difference in your modification. The shorter legs create a torso that is too big, and Breez looks very condensed and dwarfish. Which is how the original sets looked, no doubt. But not as good as the legs on the set. Which is, of course, far better than the terrible proportions we got in the latter years of Bionicle, and I don't think this set is on sliding slope to that kind of awful. The sets are going the other direction, it seems, towards a more realistic portrayal of the humanoid body. The biggest problem with the 2.0 and 3.0 heroes was that they often had arms and legs that were the same length, and that's not normal. The arms should be shorter than the legs. And Breez here suffers the same, for sure. But the legs are in proportion to the torso, as much as they can be with the parts TLG is producing. And when you consider that it looks like Breez is wearing rocket boots, her feet should add some height, because rocket boots would add some height. I think the biggest problem is that it looks like you based your proportions on the mask, and I'm basing mine off of the head underneath.

Anyone who thinks that her legs are too long has gotten too used to the weird proportions inherent in TLG's constraction figure sets. Her 2012 version is almost a perfect representation of the average human body, proportionally. Her and Rocka are literally the most realistic humanoid proportions we've ever gotten. They are glorious. They are not the same proportions as from the first few waves, that is true, and if you define those as their "default" proportions, then sure, these realistic proportions are not accurate. But to people like me, who have been clamoring for a more realistic humanoid portrayal for years now, this set is perfect.

Yeah, she looks more realistically proportioned in the real set. Those legs are too short.

I am planning on buying the hell out of Speeda Demon. Love it.

Not to start a comic discussion, but he didn't transform because Bruce didn't want to. He liked being Bruce in the Hulk's body. But in the nineties, that was the Hulk. Professor Hulk is just Bruce Banner, the Grey Hulk, and the Savage Hulk all as one "person". So it is quite possible that TLG is basing their Hulk off of this version.
-
Do you? The Hulk was basically Bruce Banner in the Hulk's body for most of the nineties. He's only been the savage Hulk again for like, thirteen years. So it's not inconceivable to have a super smart Hulk.

Please no new blue shades. We have way too many. I'm still miffed about Green Lantern's green not being the standard green.

I'm more and more certain that TLG decided to switch Breez/Thornraxx and Stringer/Voltix at what would have been "last minute" for the company that does the movies/television shows. So while marketing still managed to have the proper sets on the bios and whatnot, it was too late for the movie, so the movie gets the wave as it was originally planned. Breez and Thornraxx still being absent from store shelves is still an oddity in that scenario, though. It really doesn't look too good that the female character is the one that TLG is fumbling the ball with right now.
-
It makes a little bit of sense, Marvel is doing better financially than DC, has more profitable movies, comics, and television properties. As such, the licensing fees might be lower for Marvel than DC, since the two comic companies are competitors, and Marvel is standing at a bit of an advantage in that arena.

What makes me curious too is that Furno isn't available online, at least not at TRU, and doesn't seem to be available in-store either. I wonder if the three sets are casemates and TLG sent out a staggered shipment?
-
I'm curious if Breez was initially not supposed to be inlcuded in this wave, and was switched with someone else rather last minuteish? Late enough that the movie and other promotional material couldn't be changed? But she should still be available at retail. She's in this wave, because TLG sent Breez out to reviewers.

Out of the sets I currently have, Rocka is by far and away my favourite. That green is so lovely it defies words.
-
What. The extra armour is his "suit coat". the tail parts are the tails of the jacket, and the purple parts up top are supposed to be like the big shoulders in a lot of formal men's jackets. The green armour plate is the button-down shirt, the lightning piece is the tie. While I think the effect would be better if the upper legs and arms were also purple, that's why his colours are what they are. They're a pretty faithful rendition of his comic form.

Bought.

The winter sets were available on Toys R Us' website the second week of December last year. They didn't hit stores proper until the very end of December, I think post-Christmas even. Reviewers for the main sites probably have them already (I don't know, I missed out on the message because I was at work).

Based off the Darwyn Cooke Catwoman redesign and artwork. For BZPower's BBC Contest 62. | |

Especially since other themes are starting to show up. I bought some 2012 Ninjago sets at Toys R Us this past week, and they had the new Dino stuff too. Should be real soon.

Pretty sure the Marvel ones come out after the DC ones?

If movies are the highest canon, and the credits can be proven to be real, I can't see how you can say it's not conclusive enough.
