10196: Grand Carousel/Merry Go Round discussion
The Green Brick Giant replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
We already knew it was going to be that much, which isn't really that expensive considering. -
That is amazing! I much rather have that as a set (maybe dark blue instead of dark red) instead of the fire station.

Latest updates on LEGO set sales
The Green Brick Giant replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Already sold out online.^^^ -
We will not be getting a monorail anytime soon. If you listen to the interview about the new Train set they talk about how they asked LEGO if they could make a few new Train wheel molds and LEGO had to think about it. Do you really think LEGO would waste their time making new molds and everything for a a sub theme of a sub theme that seemed to fail 15 years ago?

This is the type of ship I hope they will release next year.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Green Brick Giant replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That is really horrible. The sad thing is that it's a good idea in theory, it's a good start to the base, but there is just nothing there. Plus it uses Pirate ship supports? The sad thing is that the set is still most likely going to be $90USD. Just look at the $60-$70 crystal harvester with 400ish pieces. LEGO prices this year are all over the map. Eww.... -
I have almost all the none train World City sets, if not all of them besides this set, I loved them, however this one just is blah. I do like the minifigures through, the faces are neat and different and I like the design of the shirt on the set.

I really need this set, sure the opening is weird, but it's easy play for kids. Plus..... DOORS!!!

New Legoland Park to open in Florida
The Green Brick Giant replied to k_peek_2000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think it's a great idea, I much MUCH rather go to Disney World than a LEGO Park in Orlando. Good luck LEGOland through! -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Green Brick Giant replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Is the base an exclusive? It has a normal number so I can see it as a TRU/Target exclusive. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's a one year theme. It seems like they were planning on it 2-3 year theme (Didn't LEGO even say that late last year?) and now we have all theme sets. Maybe LEGO realized the theme is very very very limited, and they have too much planned for next year so they will ditch it and move on. Then maybe in 2011 bring it back as Super Power Miner or something. lol I still haven't bought a single set (I buy most sets in September to December, and will need to get a few small ones for the rock guys. :) -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Green Brick Giant replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Does anyone else here think Power Miners will be a one year theme? We usually get about 5 sets per theme per year, except for City which gets two main waves of sets, and there are like 15 sets. Just seems really odd to me. -
Power Miner Prisoner Transport
The Green Brick Giant replied to Infomaniac's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really like how it looks, could be a real set with a major mod (like LEGO no longer making the xpods). That is a great use of the pods through. -
I love it, but liek the rest, it's just too much. Sadly I was layed off around last Christmas when Amazon USA had the other $100+ sets for really really cheap.

Unless Power Miners is dead i do not believe this at all. LEGO already will have about 5 new themes for the Disney deal, then they already have about 100 other themes they will be doing. I would think it would be more likely just to have more subs in the Agents theme. However Aqua Raiders sold shockingly well for LEGO, and they never thought about continuing the theme, so maybe they realized there is interest in underwater sets. All I want is a theme where they have mermaids and the sharkman pieces. Also IJ took over Adventure, Wild West Might come back at sometime, but it's iffy because of the history of the USA. However there is no chance for a Space Port theme. The Space Shuttle is going to be retired next year and nothing will be replacing it for 5-8 years. So what would you make the sets about? However Space Port is what got me back into LEGO after the horrible 1997-1999 years.

I think the minifigures are amazing, but that's because they look nothing like Star Wars. The ship itself is horrible, but the review was fantastic!
-
They could always do the Toy Story minifigures like LEGO has done with Spongebob, just add some crazy thing on top of a normal minifigure. I too hate the Slap-her-chop and the ShamPOW!
-
The set looks amazing, it is what LEGO Space should be about, awesome space ships!

5980 is ugly! Easily the worst set to me. it does look like they took a bunch of small set and thrown together some horrible little base. It's a real shame that the first base set in the theme looks like it was built by a 6 year old. I was hoping for a nice prison cell for the cop, and a nice landing pad... dear god that this is horrible! The giant police car is neat looking, and I'm sure fun for children. However if the bad guy is on a little motorcycle looking thing couldn't he just fly away?

LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours
The Green Brick Giant replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
$13 for one minifigure?! -
Nice little set, but i think it's clear the only reason why the tree is in the set is because the set is at least $2 overpriced. Mayeb LEGO needed to make a new mold for it and figured this is a good way to cover costs.
-
I would like to see a link to where you think they publish set sales. Also this is from brickset... Deal with it, people have a different opinion than you, most have a different opinion than you, and the megablocks you say and try to pass off as fact is just stupidity or lies.
-
That would work nicely. LEGO already has a ton of themes coming out in 2010, so I doubt we will be seeing a lot more new original themes. Elves and Scottish would be awesome.

LEGO Sets Price Increase
The Green Brick Giant replied to brickbitz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
LEGO had already increased the price of some sets in the USA months ago, most were really old sets. The one that comes to mind is the fire truck was $20 for years is now $23. -
REVIEW:8963 Rock Wrecker.
The Green Brick Giant replied to Da Death Star!'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I think this is the ugliest of the PM line, and the biggest ripoff! That set looks tiny and is $35? How much does the rock monster cost LEGO? $15? The rock monster is awesome through. -
How do you know how well the Dropship is selling? Also the set satisfies no one? Have you read the last two pages? many people like it, but I guess no one likes it because you don't? I think the dropship and the AT-OP is one of the worst sets ever made and people who bought it lost their minds. You can get the AT-TE and the Gunship for $40 cheaper, it has many more pieces and more minifigures.
