Latest updates on LEGO set sales
The Green Brick Giant replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'm pretty sure the Border's Coupons do. However they don't seem to sell a lot of LEGO online. -
Latest updates on LEGO set sales
The Green Brick Giant replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
If you are a Border's Member (It's free) they send you 30% and 40% off coupons in emails. Those emails can be used on LEGO. I got the Advent Calendar for $15 (after tax and a gift card). Border's has the normal Price, they also had the $11 IJ set, the horrible $20 Castle set from this year, the red city car, the city people, the creator pirate $10 set and the $10 pirate set, and some star wars set. However selection varies by store. -
Really? My bad. Actually LEGO's bad if they can't make a NEW set that looks different from the last one.

Best and Worst Set: 2009 Edition
The Green Brick Giant replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Worst - 7078-1: King's Battle Chariot - Too much moneyfor too little and is horribly designed. 7752-1: Count Dooku's Solar Sailer - They make a set called sailer that doesn't include a sail!?! 10195-1: Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker - It cost $250 when you could buy the real walker and the real dropship sets separately for cheaper and get several hundred more pieces! 5980-1: Squidman's Pitstop - I forgot about the SP theme. How could anyone like this? It's three random little ships, all of which are horribly design, and a "base" that doesn't make any sense at all. Overally it looks like a 5 year old MOC with nicer colors. Best - 7638-1: Tow Truck and 7639-1: Camper - Both are cheap sets that I think are great for kids and nicely designed to keep adults happy. 8958-1: Granite Grinder - It's different, but still real looking. my favorite PM set. Also 10193-1: Medieval Market Village and 10199-1: Winter Toy Shop are great, but i figured we didn't need another topic about how great they are. -
There is also this one... http://www.flickr.com/photos/9824337@N06/3947276013/

I say it's a fake. it looks like a $20 set and LEGO already only has 1 $20 set and it would be weird for two. Second is the helmet is wrong. It looks like the old style, aka too smooth, and it looks whitte and not the new greay. Plus where is the alien?

2010 themes and sets?
The Green Brick Giant replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't have any inside info but I think Public Transportation Center will be made. I was really hoping for the park, there was a good chance LEGO would make the other two sometime, but we will never get a park. -
Exciting in the Atlantis topic? Wake me up when we see something exciting.

Power Miners 2010
The Green Brick Giant replied to Brickthing's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You never want to order things from TRU.com. The set is $10, and I'm sure that shipping will be at least $5 more. TRU has the worst shipping prices around. EDIT - My bad, shipping is only $4.77. -
The set is $15, it isn't a rumour at all. It's been onsale for a few weeks now. http://shop.starwars.com/catalog/product.x...category_id=336

This is one of the games that need to be released in the USA now! I love the minifigure heads! They are amazing!

Mustache or Mouth?
The Green Brick Giant replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
HAHA That's true! I never noticed but if you think of it as a mouth it does look like he is grumpy. I always consider it a mustache. -
none of those pictures are new! All the pictures I stole I added weeks ago to my Flickr.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/9824337@N06/s...57611971635724/

Didn't we already have pictures of that from Amazon? Also why isn't this topic PINNED to the top? Do we really need the 2009 one still pinned?

Limited Edition Sets
The Green Brick Giant replied to Destroydacre's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What makes a box limited? The printing on the box. Really, I mean LEGO just comes up with "limited" or "special" as a joke to sell more sets. X-Wings from 3-4 years ago is still being sold, yet some sets, like the Coast Guard "oil rig" (I can't remember the name) sold out in 2 months tops. -
Power Miners 2010
The Green Brick Giant replied to Brickthing's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Those are clearly fake. They should add Mining TIE Fighter! -
Odd, in the USA if their are any issues with the Post Office it's normally from the workers going insane, but that hasn't happened in years.

I like it, the black and white angel is a cool idea. However I have never heard of a Post Office being robbed, is that a problem in the UK?

Daily Mirror Free Lego deal comes to the City (and Creator)
The Green Brick Giant replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Town
Several more sets that the Americas won't get. -
Yeah You have to wait until 2011 for the new Police sets.
-
See you aren't getting it, there is a difference between childish and juniorization. All LEGO ever made (besides some exclusives) are childish because it's meant for kids, however when the sets are Technic based just to hold on the ugly huge pieces it's a mess, more so the "pod racer" set. Look at that set from any other angle than the box art and it's a hideous mess. Luckily the small sets looks great, a nice blend of old style and new.

How many Brick Separators do you own?
The Green Brick Giant replied to Big Cam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When were they that yellow orange color? Is that a special thing for LEGO workers or something? I have one old grey set and one green one that came in a Creator set. -
Yes. LEGO stopped making Technic sets years ago, you get more Technic beams in one Atlantis set than all of the 2010 Technic sets combined. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43184821@N04/...57622388131305/ <insert that tiresome argument> PM megablocks. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43184821@N04/...57622388131305/ That set looks horrible from other angles and might as well be a Technic set. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43184821@N04/...57622388131305/ The bottom part is 4 huge pieces. Most LEGO theme sets are dumbed down and <insert that tiresome argument>, you can't sat PMs are <insert that tiresome argument> and Atlantis is, they are both made from the same mind set. However just because they are <insert that tiresome argument> doesn't mean they are all completely horrible, it just means compared to 15 years ago they are. As long as LEGO doesn't go back to the late 90s and early 2000s everything is good.

Stargate: All hail the Ori! Presenting the Ori mothership
The Green Brick Giant replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Looks perfect. I hate the Ori through... what a horrible storyline.
