Class feature. Sorry. Also, after rereading the feature, it looks like the answer to my last question; "Or does that only work when I say I want to heal someone?" is no. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Hey, I've got a question regarding the events which occured during the battle between my party and the books, and the Cleric class. I was effected by the special attack of a flying book; Bad education, and suffered the loss of my ether, however, as a cleric, shouldn't my Spirit Guardian prevent that from happening? Or does that only work when I say I want to heal someone? Thanks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Heroica RPG - Quest#3: The Missing Matriarch
Dannylonglegs replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
I'm sorry I didn't respond to this earlier, but all you need do is ask, and as long as you're insured, I'll heal you up. Same goes for everyone. I'm altruistic that way. So yes. To the nursery. I'm sure we'll find something to bash there. And Nyx, thanks for giving me a bone. It's most kind of you. -

"It seems like everyone's in agreement then. I'll target Goldraum the Cauldron from the front row. Also, I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'd like to try and draw his ire so that if he does get an attack, he will target me and not Shady." -

"Aww, I didn't get any time to read. I haven't even broken the binding of this black book. Oh wait, I did. With my staff. So, having drunk my tonic, I'm back in business regarding heals, although I'm afraid I can't be of much help with this trial by fire, as I have no new good ideas, except, fighting fire with fire, which, though poetic, would not appear to be practical." -

"Rest sounds great Nyx! And so does that tonic. That Black book was quite persistant. I wonder what's in it." Sylph then unpacked his sleeping bag and picked up the black book for light reading. -
Well it looks like everyone has been on a surprise trip in europe! For the past 7 days, I've been posting from my Kindle, which has free internet! Very usefull, though I can't see images. I too have plans for my character. I set him/her up with several mysteries which I plan to delve into as he/she develops. In addition my character has a goal. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

"Oh goody! Turns out I'm not entirely useless after all! And great going Nyx that shot was stunning! Nay, electifying! Unless you have any objections Nyx, I think I'll bash this black book from the front once more." -

"Well damnatations! Now I'm all but useless! I guess I'll swat at the black book again with my staff from the front row. Oh, Althior, why don't you target a book and let Nyx and Shady tackle the Table? The book can't decrease your ether, but it can their's." With that he swatted as if he had nothing to lose because, well, he had nothing to lose. -
I think that's a first! An RPGer who hadn't heared of the Balrog! ~Insectoid Arisrocrat

"Great! Combat! Nothing like a morally unambiguous brawl to get the blood pumping! I'll target the Book (Black) with my staff from the front row." -

"Library sounds fine to me." Said Sylph, his bat crawling out from under his cape and onto his shoulder. Sylph instinctively nuzzled it like one would a cat. -

"I concur with you Nyx, we'll pobably see Atiar again... I just hope he'll be in one piece. So, let's get moving! I suggest we make our way to the roof. Altier hinted that the spell came down the chimney, so maybe it came from the roof, or atleast a higher up level's fireplace. Also, If we can find it without Altiar, we outta check out Zelda's room." -

"Althior, I believe he meant afterwards. Just like I would like an amythest gem. Although if no one is willing to part with one, I'd be content with a substitute. Probably emerald." -

"I concur, this has engaged my interests. So, High Conjugator, do you think the spell caster cast this spell down the chimney from the roof? Also what about that history monologue? Did you hear what the caster said before becoming a chair? Also, I think our mage Althior would be a good candidate for the tonic, as he has the lightning gem." -
I'm really sorry, but I may be unusually silent for the next seven days. I am being subjected to an unexpected vacation without much computer access. I will still try to catch up every day, and it might not effect the game at all. But either way if I had known, I would not have signed up for one of the first quests so that someone who can devote more time to the game could play. If at any time you decide you want to replace me, that would be ok. Sorry again. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Heroica RPG - Quest#3: The Missing Matriarch
Dannylonglegs replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Well, that's interesting." said Sylph as he took an offensive stance. "I don't want to hurt you conjugator, but I don't think I have much of a choice. I'm assuming that the logic here is hit something to fix it." "I agree Nyx, a heal would be pointless at this point." Sylph draws his crescent adorned staff and attacks the armchair brutally. "Again, I'm very sorry. If it's any consolation, I've heard staffs deal non-lethal damage." Oh, yeah, I'm in the front row. -

"What are you insinuating? So far, it would appear that she damaged her mind with magic. An accident, not anything malicious. *whispers so that Chesterine can't hear* Do you think that she may have done away with her in an infantile fit of rage? The incident with her stray cat would certainly provide motive, but she does not seem the type for making a grand plan. I doubt her ability to evade security hexes.*" "What are you talking about? The High Conjugator DOES think a family member did it, or at least thinks there's a high possibility that one did." "It certainly does not. That 'Ssshhhooossshhhtttrrr' fellow looked like he could hold his own in a bounty hunt fight!" -

"Interesting, would you mind being a little more specific as to the seals and security system? I'm no mage, but maybe you could shed a little a little more light on the subject. Also, Chesterine. What is the manner of her 'disablement?'" -
Heroica RPG - Quest#3: The Missing Matriarch
Dannylonglegs replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"You miss understand me. That's not what I said at all. Although maybe I phrased it awkwardly. What I meant was, we have established that this kidnapping was likely perpetrated by a family member, and there would not appear to have been much of a struggle. A struggle would indicate that Zelda did not expect her midnight guest. So, obviously, she did expect her kidnapper, or at least was not surprised by the presence of her kidnapper. Therefore, I asked, who would it not surprise Zelda to see in the night in her room? Also I asked who has the closest familiarity with the protection hexes and the security system. Which family member installed them? Who could take them down? Who could restore them? Comprehend?" -

Dannylonglegs replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Sorry I've been silent, but watching my colleagues investigate has been interesting." Said Sylph, who appeared to be addressing Altiar. Altier pointed to himself and mouthed "Me?" Sylph nodded his head. "So, as you've hinted, the kidnapping was likely 'in family.' Who amongst you would it not be surprising to Zelda to see in her bedroom at night, and who is most likely to be able to disable, AND OR repair the hexes guarding Zelda's room? -
In preparation for his quest, and remembering that Signor, the group ranger, had traded away his Smoke bomb, Sylph stopped by Portia's and purchased 1 Smoke bomb for 5 coins.

I have 2 questions. 1; Is there a point to have money during a quest? (You don't really have to answer this if you think it's not appropriate) 2; Does venom work when applied to a staff? Rules say yes, but there's no penetration from a hit by that (which is why DnD v.3.5 label the staff's damage as "non-lethal.") Thanks a bunch, and I'm really glad I got into a quest! Edit: Also, Ether recharges with health after a good night's rest right? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

"Oh, good, I'm off. I'm glad That I was chosen for this quest, although that I was chosen is no huge surprise. There's a shortage of clerics in the realms." With that, the shady healer left, his bat who had been sleeping in the rafters, leapt down and glided to him, landing on his brown cape.

Well, the pic I've seen had 5 tails, each individual and similar to vertea's drawings. They were dark blue, black, purple, red, and dark green. To see the pic, google Ninjago 2012 and it should be near the top. Does anyone know if it's real or not? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Edit: Sorry, I'm wrong, What saw was not a leaked pic. I didn't read it properly. Here's the link so that others don't make the same mistake. Either way, this is super exciting and I hope to see some real prelim pics! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
