What If I missed my chance to buy a certain fig from series 1 for category B from local vendors, but am capable of making a very close fig with all the accessories needed? Could I use that fig instead of the actual series 1 fig? For instance, If, in my vignette, I didn't have the forestman, but had a Lego Castle theme forest man's body and the bow and hat and a similar face, than could I put that in and call it the forestman? I intend to enter this contest, and hope that my participation will be fruitful! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Wow, Great job! The Dragons needed a castle and boy did you provide! the first thing I noticed before reading your description was it's similarity to the lion's castle, but I still think that it's great! So far, I think this is the largest dragons moc on eurobricks! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

The Minifigs found in the battlepacks are made of inferior plastic and often are slightly off-colored or have print defects--not always major ones though. for the most part, I'm fine with it though, as the difference frequently requires a keen eye to spot. Also they have an odd indent in their arm pits. I wish they hadn't stopped selling the BPs though. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

No, they're just practicing total warfare. That doesn't make you bad necessarily ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I hate to be the devil's advocate in this circumstance, but I think I can solve your mystery. That beige color is quite probably gold--as in the gold worn by the king in the King's Castle. Additionally, the lack of battlements is likely due to the angle of the box, which would make them appear to be smaller/thinner. I'd love to be wrong, but until proven guilty, I doubt that this set is a new one. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Oooooh! Very sleek! I like it a bunch! Your color-scheme is sound and your execution is great! The only thing missing is a turret. What's the point of a tank if it has no gun? ~Insectoid Aristocrat Ps: First post of the new year!

Yeah! A lame submission! Since I'm away from my collection at the moment, I figured, "If I don't submit soon, then my chances of being picked in the raffle will be bad," so I searched through my Flickr photostream and found this Gnome wizard, now, migit wizard! see, I'm innovative! I'll try to submit a real one in a day or two, in the mean time, enjoy my placeholder! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Wow! These pictures are so tantalizingly blurry! I must say, I'm impressed with this wave! Chickens, goats, and draggy horses, oh my! The set I love the most, and I'm sure you all do to, is that fabulous mill! So many animals! So many civilians! So many Draggys! I adore the new peasant torsos! In the Mill they're all new! Also, the Draggys finally aren't outnumbered! The smaller sets are gems too! The blacksmith appears to have a new face and new two sided axe AND a chicken! The Draggy Gate has dark green barding.... Oh yeah. And that carriage is great too! I love the giant hammer in the trees! It seems the king isn't in control of his forests as entirely as he thought! Great new wave! I hope beyond hope that the theme continues. I still need to see the draggy king/queen and their castle, and a dragon, so, it can't end yet! Please!? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

OooOOooh! Pictures! Fun! Well, now that the sets are here, I've got a question; If the "defenders" are on earth, why do they need space-suits?! They don't seem to protect them from the brain-invaders (see largest set.) This criticism belies my true opinion on the theme. Despite its being on earth, the theme does not look half bad! The sets appear well designed and cosmetically appealing. The backdrop, chiefly the darkness, fits perfectly with the models, and the alien faction is very cool looking! I like the head-crab like alien and believe that one alien has a tentacle for a hand (as per the prototype of many of the SPIII villians! I'm impressed. 'Sucks that it's not Insectoids though. Ah well, our time will come... ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Dannylonglegs replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ha! Splendid, splendid, splendid! This game sounds perfect for the likes of me! Firstly, permit me to comment upon your well laid out rules system; I think it's simply marvelous! I'm positive that it will allow for a smooth and deliciously suspenseful gameplay! On to the formalities. As for number one in your list of requisites, I qualify. My plans involve much lounging in a house for the next month. Secondly, my Mafia-game participation, when applicable, has been admirable. If you recall, my first and so-far, only Mafia-game experience went quite well; My role was that of the loony night killer, and I lived to see the town's fall, and sent quaint rhymes to the host detailing who I desired to slaughter. When engaged in a Mafia-game, my presence on the forums grows stronger, and for the past few weeks I have finally recovered from a long summer vacation and tedious first week of school, but the true reason for my return was to enter into another Mafia-game! (I've been standing here waiting for this opportunity for quite some time...) Three: insanity. As to whether or not I am sane, I'm not sure; I've been classified as schizophrenic, obsessive compulsive, maniacal, and dangerously narcissistic, but I don't know if that qualifies me. I also kill people and preserve their organs for later consumption. Four. Well, here' goes! 1. Upside down, 2 headed alien robot; 2. Blacktron I torso; 3. Mantis-like insectoid head; 4. Insectoid head; 5. Blacktron operative with arms hailing the sky, cut off at the wrists and beheaded, legs missing. Ahh, that was exciting. Now, I do hope you consider me for the game. If not, I suppose I will have to find out where you live and umm, I'll figure out the rest when I get there. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Are you sure? That looks pretty trans-clear to me. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

When's the due date? I'd love to be part of this and will make mine ASAP! Edit: My question has already been asked(in the same fashion to boot)and answered. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

You're likely right, I just remembered that the first wave of PMs were blue. That also gives more credibility to the letters ADF meaning Alien Defense Force. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Well, well, well.... I think maybe my first post was a bit presumptive. These figs look good! I'm glad to know that the civilian is not an earthling, but instead an astronaut! I hope this means that the soldiers we've heard mentioned are also geared for space battle. I hope this means we'll get some civilian lovin' too! Additionally, The alien looks pretty sweet (or rather, sour)! That ray-gun is getting pretty popular! Edit: I just read the letters ADF on the blue fig's outfit. Alien Defense Force anyone? ~Insectoid Aristocrat (status update: not invading )

Well, this is news! Whether it's good news or not remains to be determined. I, for one, am not to excited with the idea of an earth based alien assault theme. Even though that type of movie has recently become very popular here in the U.S. (but likely elsewhere too) I am not fond of the concept. When I think of sci-fi, I think of fantastic planets and advanced spacey technology, and Lego has always provided me with those images in their sets. An on earth plot is not something I look forward to... Unless, of course, this is finally the INSECTOID RESURGENCE! I hope that this ugly green is an existing green, that would be nice. (I hope it's just plain-old green, so that we may finally get more green hands!) ~Insectoid Aristocrat reason for edit: spelling error

Marvelous! I really admire the cleanness of this piece, it is not overdone, nor plain and simple. The premise is quite amusing too, and I must Lol at the prospect of Squiddie doing kung-fu! (well, he can outrun a space police raptor on foot, so there's no questioning his leg strength. ) the human figs are great too, and the kung-fu poses are top-notch too! Might I ask how you managed to make the black warrior's legs attach to him? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
No way! You made Senet out of legos! As an ancientegyptophile, this earns my approval! Great Job! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I agree, the angle is pretty awesome, but the first thing I noticed was the mix of fleshies and yellow minifigs. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
Wow, your thatched roof is excellent! I agree that on the slope front, it's a bit lacking, but still very well done! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Although I skipped through allot of pages in the middle of this topic,I didn't read anyone mention it was over. If it is, that is truely tragic! I really like the theme. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

But, but, but, but I want a return of the Insectoids! I Really like all the nods to the old Space themes that we've been enjoying lately, and There's no doubt in my mind that the "Space Villain" would make an excellent commando. ~Insectoid Aristocrat (who will obliterate all non-believers of return)
