Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming
Dannylonglegs replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
Order? (temporary): Punii: Make Jellies Alex: Heal Johon Johon: Blade C, BR Galen: Blade C, BR? Elgar: Death C, BR Lycan: Hegone Sylph: Chill -
Endgame, is there a reason for C having a typo (disregerds) and D having an ether error? Also, I've been meaning to ask, what type of creature is Rhodus considered? (Mechanics-wise) Well, that's embarrassing. My posts didn't combine. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Not that I'd like him to have any more power, but you totally should have! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
-
Exactly, but his stats say 6. Sorry I wasn't clear. They should say 2. And thank you for this valuable information... May the gods have mercy on our souls.... Furthermore, Snark-Master should be a prestige class. Oh, Endgame, you forgot to include the result of Punii's bomb making. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Sylph's unconscious body pointed at the typo in Blade C. Furthermore, he was successfully unconscious. -
Endgame, two things: 1, the blade should be badly poisoned (I think) and 2, Rhodus still has 6 ether instead of 2. Oh, and did anyone answer whether inanimate objects that are attacking could be blinded? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Well, I guess that solves the wishing wand argument! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

What plan? I'm unconscious, remember? Also, I am a magical, plan-spewing hacky-sack. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

The unconscious Sylph rolled over a third time. The battle order changed. Order (?): Punii: Mix jellies Alex: Heal Self, BR (he's in front in-case he rolls 6) Elgar: Drink Grand Potion? Lycan: Run Galen: Blade E, BR (to avoid free hits.) Johon: Death E, BR (to avoid free hits.) Sylph: Chill Elgar, do you still want to drink the potion? -

Oh, Derp. You're right. I'll fix the order in a minute. -

Well, my thoughts are that, without me, Alex will have to do healing, which is not his most useful activity. He's best as a defensive/offensive front-line fighter. His high SP and SP ignoring blade are perfect for dealing with Rhodus, and if he didn't have to heal, he'd be there the entire time. Since he's not dealing with Rhodus, I would think the next most defended should. Unfortunately, Johon would not survive a frontal attack from Rhodus. I did the math. No one but Alex would. Therefore, I think it might be wiser to put Lycan on Rhodus. At this point we're not discussing killing him, but surviving longer. If at any point you invoke his jab frenzy Everyone but Johon will die. It may just be safer to escape while you have the chance. Here is my plan for maximum safety, assuming you don't just bail now. Order? (for now): Punii: Mix jellies Alex: Heal Self, BR (he's in front in-case he rolls 6) Elgar: Give Johon Smoke Bomb, BR (this is our contingency plan.) Galen: Blade E, BR (to avoid free hits. You will die if he deals damage to you) Lycan: Death E, FR (to avoid free hits. You will die if he deals damage to you) Johon: Use Smoke Bomb if Either Lycan or Galen died or invoked a special. if not, Drink Grand Potion, BR (this is our contingency plan) Sylph: Chill You could do this, or just get out now. -
It's my bad, I put Johon first in the order for no real reason, and I got screwed by my error. Not that you guys can't win without me, but Galen, as a rogue, you could bail and keep your nostrum for later. Also, who should attack Death this round, assuming Alex is healing our most valuable asset (the only remaining healer, himself)? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Yes, really! Looks like I'm not getting a level from this fight. On a side note though, at least I didn't snark at him at all! But Alex turned out to be right! Should I keep posting the orders, or should someone awake do that? ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Sylph rolled over, unconscious, soundly defeated. -

Sorry, the goofy names are all placeholders that I came up with about five seconds beforehand. (accept Ends-Meet, which I thought of a few days ago, but fully intend to change it.) I usually develop characters in my head first, then give them names. (The same goes for the exact location of the nation, but I did actually think that one through a bit.) The Lost Kingdom of Ennoc is still lost, right? The idea for why the small kingdom was placed there was that it was a brand new kingdom reclaiming some land from the lost lands, presumably dealing with frequent attacks from orcish and goblin raiders. I can understand why you don't want the kingdom there though. I don't want to encroach upon anyone else's kingdoms. Perhaps "the Autumn Kingdom" could be west of Draida bay and that forest and south of the Nathuz mountains? Maybe I shouldn't have announced my hopes before I had solidified my thoughts and devised better names. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Order: Punii: Make jellies Alex Johon Elgar Galen Lycan Sylph: Attack Rhodus B, back row *If revived -
Oh, shoot, forgot about that. Beat him up for me, men! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Ouch! I guess I can't direct my team's strategy because I'm all KOed and such, but, while Paladins heal, the don't remove bad effects from those they heal, and their Shield doesn't heal either, so you may go through remedies faster now that I'm gone. Strategically, healing me now would let me heal myself and attack, since I'm hastened, or healing me once he regenerates his sword would let you guys all focus on him while he's weak. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Hey, I've been fleshing out the idea for a quest. I'm not ready to give a write-up just yet, and I don't think I would actually host it until after Christmas. Its working title is: A Bit Batty, and would take place in the capital (called Ends-Meet, due to the number of roads that lead there ) of a fledgling Kingdom (or more accurately, Queendom) on the main-land, somewhere in-between (and nominally claiming) the Waldruk forests and the Nathuz Mountains, called the Autumn Kingdom, after the first (and current) Queen Autumn who consolidated power from several tribes and fiefdoms in the surrounding area. It would be a small quest to help me QM, but it would hopefully set the stage for a number of other quests I have in mind. I'll give you a write-up and an example of a few of the monsters I made for the quest when I have time. It can be adapted for heroes of any level, but I think it would be easier for me to take a lower-level group. Currently, the stats are written for maybe Lvl 15 players, but, again, they could be taken down or up. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

This wand is tearing the group apart! Just give it to me so that you can all be friends... ~Insectoid Aristocrat
