Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming

"Do we want to all focus on the Blade this round? If we don't kill it we'll have at-least made a huge dent in its health and be able to continue our assault on the blade next round with no fear of its retaliation? Or do we all want to focus on Rhodus? It would be nice to take advantage of the Guardian in that respect, but we might as well just deal with the blade, even though it will be blinded for two more rounds. Rhodus still has 8 SP." -

The bat dropped down and swooped over Blade D. -
Well, what you say makes total sense. I too (still) think that the minifigure is scorpion in design, so I think it may be a recolouration of whatever scorpion appears in the scorpion set. That, or the dark orange thing you mentioned. Or, it could be that the "Space Scorpion" is only the name of the alien's ship in Vermin Vaporizer, and the "alien insect" is of another species, possibly the beetle again. I'm not sure I agree with you about the beetle not having wings. The presence of wings is one of the defining features of all insects, including the Coleoptera Order (which means sheathed wing)... Unless those aliens not mentioned as having wings in the German write-up all don't have wings. I don't think the German-Write ups went by the colour of the figs that people saw in the catalogue, but rather, by what the designers/ PR folk wrote as a description of the set. It'll either be red or a mistranslation. My German is shoddy, and I didn't see the originals, so I wouldn't know. Mantises do come in all shapes and colours, from white and pink to deep red to brown, green, and almost every hue in-between. The "dragonfly" is definitely dark bley; the purple/dark blue you see is probably the cocoon from the dragonfly ship. (unless you're referring to the dark design on his chest, which could be black or dark-blue.) Furthermore, he has wings of the same colour as those on the mosquito. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

The bat swept down when he realized the humans and humanoids had figured out which one was the real Rhodus. Being a bat, his eye sight, stereotypical, was not keen enough to identify the bolded period on Rhodus B... "Order: Bat: State Battle Order, NR Punii: Mix Jellies, NR Johon: Drink Grand Potion, BR (If this is a problem, Johon, Sylph will reimburse you when the battle's over.) Elgar: Blind Blade B, BR Alex: Rhodus B, FR Galen: Blade B, BR Lycan: HeGone, NR Sylph: Chill, FR" Gotta throw in a colour-coded order sometime.... -
Hahaha! but don't kid yourself. Just because Rhodus is gone, doesn't mean Sylph is... On a side-note, would you check over the stats to make sure there's a clue for us to figure-out which Rhodus is right? I've honestly searched for an hour. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I don't think it's the scorpion anymore because of this: Note: I used gray for the dragonfly because he's visibly gray. (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8199/8185863578_0162843d3f_q.jpg) I don't have any particular reason for my choice of orange to colour the scorpion. Nor do I have a reason for colouring the beetle blue. The red alien minifigure is an exclusive and, while not a mantis, I can't imagine there would be two red aliens (although, I could see the same head-mold but re-coloured) The scorpion's colour has not yet been revealed. I predict it'll be brown or orange (or blue if the beetle's not blue, as I think it'll be.) Also, as evidence that alien species does not always correlate with vehicle species, the mosquito appears in two sets. I don't think both will be styled after mosquitoes. (of course, one is, and the beetle is stated as driving a beetle.) ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I think I'm in love with a scorpion... or it could be a centipede....
-
Oh my.... There is so much YES on that red figure! I can't even begin to describe how much I love it! It's definitely the scorpion (or maybe a centipede or some other arachnid (4-eyes)), so claws would be a nice, but certainly not necessary, addition, and, as others have mentioned, the mosquito is missing its antenna. This one's much less clunky than the mosquito. I love how menacing and Insectoid it looks! I hope it doesn't appear only in the most expensive set! That paint-job... The contour of the segmented neck... The flatness of the brow and the somehow-skull-like design of the head... Hello Beautiful. I just re-checked. Tragically, it's exclusive to the Space-Mantis, so I won't get more than one. I hope the beetle looks half as good. ~Insectoid Aristocrat... in love.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
Dannylonglegs replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well, if it isn't broke.... Anyway, I like the chicken suit guy! It's cool that we've been getting new arm molds recently (the bat). I'm not sure if I'll get it. It's not the highest on my list. I really want to see some of the medieval figures. I really like the trooper, and I'll probably get a bunch (2. I suck at army building. curse you money!!! )! Hyde is great too, but definitely not an army builder. So far, it's looking like a good wave! So far my favorite was the last one, due to the several recolours and a few of the new figs (Shakespeare ) but I have hopes for this one. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

The bat landed on Elgar's shoulder and spoke in batese: "Tell the Pillager to wait one more round. If at that time our position is worse than it is now, his request can be considered in earnest. As things stand, we could defeat the death Progg. Our escape is secured by the Werewolf, so we can devote all our energy to defeating the Death Progg. You need not use a potion either. Next round the Paladin can heal you. Also, tell the Turbaned Rogue, we agree." "Order (If everyone agrees): Sylph: Chill, FR Punii: Mix Jellies Alex: Rhodus A, FR Johon: Give Elgar 'Scroll of Blindness', BR Elgar: Recieve 'Scroll of Blindness', BR Galen: Blade A, BR Lycan: HeGone" That's alright. As Party Leader, I'll report your actions if you are unable to get online for 24 hours. This time of year is really busy for everyone, I think. "Also," added the bat, "the Pillager will survive this round even if jab-attack is rolled because of SP. No reason to run exists yet apart from fear of unknown. and not even that because, with the Werewolf helping others, the group can survive even if we do not make it out of this battle." -

Finally! News! I like this guy. I won't say love (yet) but he's not bad! I bet there'll be better, but he could have been allot worse (and honestly, mosquitoes are goofy buggers anyways)! He kind of reminds me of the Genosian minifigures from Star Wars. So far I'm still hopeful for the theme! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Whoops, forgot about the receiver... Blind Blade next round! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

The bat swept down, screeching in Elgar's ears. "Order (If everyone agrees): Sylph: Chill, FR Punii: Make Jellies Alex: Rhodus A, FR Johon: Give Elgar 'Scroll of Blindness', BR Elgar: Recieve 'Scroll of Blindness', BR Galen: Blade A, BR Lycan: HeGone" He screeched in Batese. -

Sylph's cloak moved, as if his hand were emerging from within it. Instead of his hand though, it was his oft-forgotten pet bat. The small creature clumsily flapped into the air and made its way to Elgar. It landed on his shoulder and whispered the language of the bats into his ears. "Friend told me that last round was round to run. Now, there is chance of hard-fought success. Tell this to Pillager. Small man-wolf gone to get Potion of Life for Friend, he thinks. Tell this too." With that, the bat ascended to the ceiling of the bank, from where she screeched at Rhodus in what might only be described as an echoing cackle. Oh, yeah, and the bat said this too at some point. She's been the one doing that in Sylph's stead... Retro-conned! Order (If everyone agrees): Punii: Make Jellies Alex: Heal Johon, BR Johon: Blade C, BR Galen: Drink Grand Potion, BR Elgar: Death C, BR Lycan: HeGone Sylph: Chill, BR -
Well, that would be somewhat inconvenient for the purposes of slaying such a creature. I bet it'd be Snarky on a galactic scale. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
