"Oh! good good good!" cried the Hinckwell. "You're the fifth member of the party! Great to meet you! I'm Bartholomew, Master Dill Hinckwell's personal assistant Now we're all here. Oh wonderful." chattered the Hinckwell exuberantly. "Now w're just waiting for Charley, the man in-charge of rowing us to the ship... I told him to be waiting here, but the old-bloke has yet to arrive!" OoC: I'll move the Quest to Brendenton in about three hours. -

OoC: Oooh. Dissension in the ranks... Lovely. Bart the Hinckwell employee was clearly distraught from the anger and interrogation directed at him. He let out an involuntary eep. "I, umm. Let's just remain... calm. Master Dill heard how helpful you heroes can be in tricky situations, and right now, he's apparently in a very tricky one. He's been exceedingly tight-lipped about it though, and I'm afraid I don't quite know the details myself. You'd think the man would trust his most valued personal assistant with such details, but I suppose this is too important to even let me know about it. He hired you folks after all instead of employing the local guards, which would likely have been much cheaper. If I had to guess, I'd say it had something to do with the cloth-market that recently crashed. It's famous in Brendenton. He probably wants you there just to make sure whatever business maneuver he's cooked-up goes through without a hitch. Master Dill is always trying to make the most out of tough situations. That's just speculation though. As for my weak nerve, I am afraid it runs in the family, but it's certainly not helped by our current lateness and being in this new city. I've never been out of Sundestia before, even though the Hinckwell company is very wide-spread. I can't help but get anxious being in this famously chaotic city." "Oh, good! You've arrived! Excellent! Now we're only waiting for the Mage." he said, checking another name from his list. OoC: Does it have any in-game-effect? Edit: I won't be able to take us to Brendenton for another 3 or so hours, so take your time RPing if you want, and we'll leave once Legobodgers posts here and I've photo-shopped the next scenes. -

The nervous Hinckwell's eyes went wide with worry as he heard the Hero speak. "I-I-I-" He stammered. "My name is Bartholomew Corin." He finished, sounding surprisingly official. "I am Master Dill Hinckwell's personal assistant in Brendenton, not a soldier. The chain-mail and the Helmet are for my protection. I've heard Eubric is a den of thieves with no military what-so-ever, so I came prepared. Brendenton is much more controlled." He looked around nervously. "And the sooner we're back in Brendenton, the better. I'm afraid we're running several days late already due to disastrously calm weather." -

"I suppose so." He says. He doesn't sit though. Instead, he stands, fidgeting, looking from his notes to the ship in the bay to the sun to his notes again. OoC: I think I've got it now. Also, as a note, I sometimes edit my posts right after I post them. It's a bad habit I should stop, but I'll leave a note if I ever add anything to an Edit. -
Oh, I didn't say she's not evil with a side of omnicide, but, you know, Heroica's got its own shades of black. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Well, considering Heroica can be rightly viewed as a den of bizarrely powerful mercenaries who have been known to steal, murder, and alter world politics for better or worse, I'm surprised she doesn't have more popular support. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

"Yes," he stated, nodding his head as if to assure her of his sincerity. "I think it's... well, it's the first time I've seen one. It's unique. The vendor gave that to you for free? You must be a good customer." He chuckled naively. OoC: I realize now that I'm only supposed to read the red text as your speech. Sorry for the confusion. -

Thread's up! Also, I can't believe it, but I made a huge typo in one of the tags. It should say: Brendenton, not, Brebdebton. I can't argue with that logic! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

You wouldn't! Would you? Also, I finished the Library post. I kinda wish I'd written that down before hand. Sorry for the delay, 62ers, I'll have the thread open in about 10 minutes. Not all that information is crucial, but it serves to set the scene a bit as well. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

"Yes, my name is indeed Byblos. Of course I can tell you of Brendenton, or Sailor's Haven as it once was called. The City belongs to the kingdom of Sundestia, one of the Lower kingdoms. Sundestia's capitol, Orsedd, is allot smaller, but positioned on the same river that feeds into the delta by which Brendenton resides. Sundestia is ruled by Queen Cyrene, and the many Lords of the land. The nation has fought many wars with its neighbors in the past, but is currently at "peace" with he surrounding kingdoms--likely due to crisscrossed alliances and The Queen's powerful army of northern mercenaries. The City of Brendenton is the largest in Sundestia, and one of the largest ports on the Crystalline Sea (although it's not quite as large as Eubric). It's overseen by Lord Brenden, and his son (who many suspect is the true power in the city), Lord Brenden II. The city was once called "Sailor's Haven" due to the magnitude of trade that occurred in the city, particularly in cloth. The city's name was changed by Lord Brenden when he inherited the rule of Sailor's Haven from its previous lord, and it is now known world-wide as the largest producer and exporter of fine cloth. Odds are, you're wearing Brendentonian cloth right now. It's purchased by merchants near and far, contributing to a thriving market--usually. They've hit some hard-times recently, and the cloth market has seen drastic losses. Other than that, I can tell you that the other power in Brendenton is the Church of Ennoc. They've held power over the general populous for decades, likely due to the influx of Ennoc-believers after the Orcish invasion. There is also a high population of were-ravens within the city. The city is broken into districts, such as the Mage's District, the Market District, the Wharfs, the Peasant District, etc. That should be enough general information for you, but come back if you'd like to know anything specific."
