Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day One
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yeah I understand, and no worries I don't take it personally. You're actually right about me "not having a solid plan" right now, and I've already said my piece why I did what I did (the night action suggestion, self-proclamation of honesty). If there is already a town block being formed by a more competent townie then it's great news! Even if I'm no part of that, nor I expect to be part of that anytime soon, as long as I know there is a town core forming behind the scenes then I'm all good with it. Ugn, Li'l Cornelius is right, I wasn't aware of this lie detector, so I wasn't making fun of it as I don't know anything about it. I need to read that book (EB I) and research about that. All players in Eurobricks Mafia II = all aligned with the town. There I saved the rest of the players the effort for making this silly proclamation in their posts. --- Moving on, since we have pressing matters like finding out the scum and since we're already allowed to vote, I have a couple of kids in mind, who I think are scummy I just have to compile my thoughts about this and post later... (Don't rush me again Li'l TrumpetKing! ).- 249 replies

Yup, there you go, observe the people making fun of someone of one who simply wants to help the town. Really very helpful. When I go down somewhere along the way (as early as tonight) remember these helpful people. Silly lie detectors and stuff, Pfft. Great. Anyone else here would like to proclaim their words in an counter-productive manner as being aligned to town? They're just words anyways, right?- 249 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day One
XimenaPaulina replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That was not my original intention, really. I'm just merely offering an avenue for townies out there to have someone to talk to, someone they could relate to for being all alone at the start of the game, not knowing who to trust and to initially talk to. If you're a real townie you'd understand how it feels, compared to those scummos sitting pretty right now formulating plans with their scum buddies. Townies don't have that luxury at the start of the game. And with me sticking my head out there and trying my best to do what I think is best to unite the town, hopefully it would reverberate to others that I could be trusted. If what I'm doing entails assuming an early position of leadership then so be it, but I'm not lobbying to be a leader for the sake of being a leader, just trying to unite the town this early. If I see there are more capable townies out there who could step-up to be a leader, I'd happily defer to them (my game history is proof of that: Rufus was our town leader in Bloodbrick II in a losing cause, def as a neutral led us in Gotham City victory, Cornelius stepped-up to lead is in IMHOTEP.) As you see, I've never been a leader, and honestly I'm more comfortable playing in a supporting contributing role. But my intention whay I'm doing this is simply to unite the townies as early as possible, conisdering with have a daunting threat with two scum teams trying to unite themselves in the coming days. I hope you see my point there. And I'm encouraging people to broadcast their night actions in public? I never said that, and you and I and everyone knows that would be stupid. If they tell me what their night action would be in private? It's a matter of trust. I expect the townies PRs to be careful and they won't even tell anyone unless they fully trust someone. You said it yourself that it's though people's behavior that we would know who to trust is. That's what I've been doing, since I'm just utilizing the greatest power of a townie: BEING TRUE AND HONEST ABOUT YOURSELF. I'm all for all scrunity you could throw at me Li'l kids. Like I said, I have the greatest weapon of a townie: HONESTY.- 249 replies

Oh my Li's guys and gals (before I address those questioning me about 'volunteering' to be "leader" ) PLEASE for the love of God DO NOT in anyway reveal the structure of your role PM especially with regards if you're a recruitable townie or not - the recruiting scum team if obviously fishing info right now and you're just falling into a trap! If you insinuate in your posts that you don't know anything about being recruitable then that just gives away that you are not recruitable and that would just be beneficial to both scum teams! (recruiting scum will ignore you and will narrow down their list of 'recruitable towie' and the killing scum would just simply kill you). Please be careful on what you post!!!- 249 replies

Hopefully the other townies would see the sincerity of my intention why I made that suggestion. There is nothing more valuable to an unorganized town this early in the game than someone to trust to. This is my way of trying to reach out of the rest of the town, hoping at least through me I've provided a much-needed headstart for the town. It's up to them if they would trust me. I have nothing to hide nor I fear getting killed this early, at least I'm doing my best to contribute and not simply trying to survive this game. How about you Li'l Pandy, what do you suggest to rally the rest of the town out there?- 249 replies

I'm sorry but I fail to see how my simple suggestion regarding night actions "should not have been talked about in public". Li'l Jesus Hinckley also called me out regarding this, and I'm not saying my suggestion was 100% fool-proof, in fact I admit it does have many loopholes, but I made that suggestion with the intention of "reaching out to other fellow townies" out there, particularly the town doctor and/or mason. At the end of the day it's still their decision on how they'll go about with their night actions. I was simply making a suggestion and "trying to reach out publicly". You know why? Because it's tough to be a townie at the start of any game, not knowing anyone, not knowing who to trust, not knowing who to talk to first. I'm sure townies out there would feel the same way and would understand what I'm talking about. It's Day 1, and I highly doubt that a town core is forming already in private this early considering (lack of) trust issues. That's the point of discussing things publicly right? You'd be able to gauge people based on their posts, reactions, etc. Hopefully, no matter how my suggestion seem implausible or not, it would eventually lead to townies reaching out to each other and start working together. I will not just sit around here and simply listen to what others have to say, if I have something in my mind that I feel merits discussion then I would say it.- 249 replies

I must admit it takes a lot of balls for Li'l Cornelius to step up to the plate and volunteer as mayor, and while that doesn't guarantee that he's 100% town, it speaks volumes of his intentions, noble if he's indeed town, and stupidly bold if he's scum as I don't see why a scummo would want to put the spotlight on them this early and be subject to scrutiny (a.k.a. investigation/recruit, potential kill target). I have a suggestion to somehow remove the fears of holding the mayoral position at least for today: how about the town doctor protect the mayor and the town mason recruit/investigate him tonight? That way, we could 100% verify if CM is indeed town, if he is then we'll have a trusted townie from this early who could lead and rally the town. With the town doctor protecting him, then we remove the possibility of him getting scum killed (barring any miraculous block on the doctor on the scum side). Besides, this is Day 1/Night 1, the town doctor/mason/investigator would have have better target in the mayor compared to randomly picking someone else out of the blue, right? The only loopholes I see with this one is how the town mason/investigator would publicize the night action results. We need another trusted and brave townie to be the spokesperson (much like a legendary townie Hinckley in the epic books I've read). Also, false investigation/recruitment results by the scum would also be a hindrance. Like I said, I'm very much willing to, just like Li'l Murdock. I'm also open for verification/investigation if needed, I don't fear it, only those coward scum dimwits do. Whether it'll be me or Li'l CM or any other Li'l Kid here, it would be of the best interest of the town to protect and investigate/recruit the mayor tonight like I suggested above (unless by any major miracle that the town doctor finds/verifies/trusts the town mason today then that would be a better course of action night action-wise).- 249 replies

Yes, because: a) I believe voting for Mayor isn't much of a big deal. If it was a one and only unchangeable lynch vote then I wouldn't have carelessly cast my vote like that. b) My one vote isn't crucial as it can be easily overturned by the majority. What weight does my one measly vote have against 20 more votes? I'll reiterate again, the vote was made as a light-hearted welcome joke to Li'l Walter, if people would take it the wrong way then I can't do anything about that.- 249 replies

It was supposed to be a nomination made in jest, but I guess it rubbed some sensitive people the wrong the way. I honestly see no danger in being Mayor (and I have no prior knowledge of what happened in previous games). But if people are going to chicken out for holding this historically dangerous position, then I might as well 'volunteer'. I realize I can't unvote Li'l Walter and then vote for myself, but the majority could still nominate me to 'punish' for my 'cuteness' and 'meanness'.- 249 replies

Killers among kids? Why on earth would young people like us kill? I don't understand why. I'll ask my mommy when I get home. Isn't it recess time yet? I'm getting hungry, and for the nth time, I have an ice cream yet again for snack. I hate ice cream, it's cold and boring, not much excitement. Oh well, not much I can do about it... Then I'll get the ball rolling and nominate you as our Mayor. Mayor: Li'l Walter Kovacs. It's been a while we've seen you here in school pal, nice to have you back.- 249 replies

Spidey will always be known as a mainstream solitary superhero, sure he has appeared as member of some superhero teams, but only die-hard comic book fans know that. Just ask people from the street and they'd tell you they only know Spidey as Spidey, not as a member of the Avengers, new Fantastic Four, Heroes for HIre, etc. I'd personally prefer for Spidey not to become a regular member of the Avengers MCU. But I do want him to make a one-movie apperance in one of the Avengers movies, I think that would work well for keeping Spidey's "one-man show" reputation and also pleasing those fans who want to see him battle with the Avengers. Marvel would be happy with his cross-over appearance, Sony would be happy piggybacking with the Avenger;s $ucce$$, Marvel fans would be happy to see prominent superheroes fighting together, everybody's happy!

It's been a while since I've played, so I'd like to participate in this one. 1) Isla Paradisa, Bloodbrick II, Prison Riot, Gotham City Mafia, IMHOTEP, Yakuza 2) I like how you put up the gist of the game beforehand, gives people a good preview of what to expect. The factions and roles seem fair to all sides, and the set-up definitely encourages active participation from every player no matter what side. I like it, no complaints nor suggestions on my side. 3) Pussyfooting? First time I read/heard the term, had to look for the meaning. With respect to this game, if it means stealthily lurking / covert operation to infiltrate one side, then this is something I'd like to do more (which I haven't done in my previous games since I was always town). Looking forward playing in another def game.

If this was simply an upcoming April fool prank, then why would TLG involve another company (20th Century Fox) with this planned ruse right? I'm inclined to believe this is true, if not then they'd got us fooled big time. If ever this would materialize, I think it would be safe to assume all characters will require new head molds since the regular minifig head would simply not work (read: old Squidward).

I still don't get the rehash hate. It actually rubs me the wrong way that some (not all) collectors who owned the previous UCS X-Wing seemingly forget that they are NOT the only target market of UCS sets and they seem to fail (or refuse?) to recognize the fact that as time goes by more new AFOLs get into the hobby and would likely be UCS collectors as well. Don't also forget those old-timer AFOLs (like me) who, for some reason or another missed out on the previous version, appreciates this opportunity to finally own a UCS X-Wing. Again, I'll ask: why deprive new people from having the chance to own a UCS X-Wing? Isn't it a bit selfish if one would think that way? In the 13 years of TLG releasing SW UCS sets, this is the first-time a UCS set has been rehashed, so it's not as if TLG keeps on rehasing UCS sets. And I still stand by my opinion that if there was a perfect UCS set to rehash, it would be the X-Wing by virtue of being the most iconic ship of the SW saga. UCS TIE? UCS Landspeeder? Yes they are iconic, but not as iconic as the X-Wing or the Falcon. Come on, SW fans should know the hierarchy of the popularity of SW vehicles. Besides, whoever said there would be no UCS TIE or UCS Landspeeder or UCS LAAT/i? For all we know, these might already be in the UCS product pipeline of TLG, remember that TLG plans/designs waaay ahead, as in years before the actual release of a set. I guess some people need to re-learn the teachings of a great Jedi:

I share the same sentiments. This would have been a automatic pick-up for me if not for that crane, which makes this otherwise great-looking set prohibitively expensive. Really need to contemplate if it's worth to shell out extra bucks for the crane just to get the other elements (bike shop, pizza house, bus, street sweeper) which are really tempting.

ToR III Official Entry Round 2: Redcoats' Dirty Big Secret
XimenaPaulina replied to Esurient's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'm not much into this Redcoats vs. Bluecoats thing (though it seems to be 'fun to watch from the sidelines'), but I just had to commend the excellent comic work of this one: impressive graphics and effects, nice & clean presentation, good story telling, and an overall enjoyable read. Great job! -
I'm on the same boat as those who happily welcome this 2nd iteration of the UCS X-Wing and appreciate the opportunity to finally own this UCS set after missing out on the first one. While I acknowledge that there are indeed some 'questionable' details of the model (nose, small diameter of the quad-engines, not-so-hexagonal shape of the rear, canopy stickers), I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt to the designers who I understand had restrictions to work on (such as parts count, total cost, parts availability, build stability, etc.), and overall I think they did the best job they could despite the imposed limitations. With regards to some complaints about re-releasing this UCS set, it actually makes perfect sense if one would think of the overall picture: the X-Wing is probably the most iconic ship in the whole of Star Wars (alongside the Falcon), so it is the ultimate ship that every hard-core Star Wars collector need to have and even those non-SW fans can identify to. Of course, this re-release would also give new LSW collectors or those who have missed the previous version the chance to own this UCS X-Wing. (Why deprive new collectors this chance right?)

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like the fact that the two new Iron Man suits + War Machine + the villain Mandarin can be gotten from two relatively small cheap sets (my wallet will be happy ). And that speedboat is well-designed too.
