  1. This really looks great Gen. Magma! I think you really captured the shape of catapult very well. It's also nice to see some unconventional building techniques, using the flex tubes to achieve those bent catapult pieces is something we rarely see in most MOCs. Just a question though, how come in the ref. pic there is a circular wheel-thingy in front of the catapult and yours has none? BTW, your brickbuilt Falumpaset and alternative Gungan weapons are very well done too. Great job in all of these!
  2. Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce versus Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet Round 2 Carlos Peerce l 5 _________________________Ollivander Dippet l 3 Sectumsempra-Mid - 0 ________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 Expelliarmus! - 0 _____________________________Low - 0 Low - 0_____________________________________Protego! - 0 Crucio! - 1___________________________________Sectumsempra-Mid - 0 High - 0 ____________________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Health: 5___________________________________Health: 2 The Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce has taken a significant lead over Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet heading into the second round. The Slytherin wastes no time and continues with his aggressive ways, unleashing a Sectumsempra aimed at his opponent's body, but Ollivander adeptly counters with his Labrador Patronum. The Death-Eater then disarms the Magus with an Expelliarmus, and attempts to knock his rival off his feet with a low spell. Ollivander, showing great recovery, picks up his wand on the floor and blocks the powerful attack with a timely shield charm. Annoyed by the resiliency shown by the diminutive Gryffindor, Carlos casts a Cruciatus curse that even a Sectumpsempra from Ollivander cannot counter, dealing him a damaging blow once again. The Death-Eater tries to immediately follow-up with a head shot, but was surprised when a quick Expelliarmus from the downed Gryffindor knocks his wand off his grip. The Slytherin Death Eater continues to pound the Gryffindor as the duel progresses, increasing his lead going into the final round. Send in your Round 3 DS when ready.
  3. This one? It doesn't look like a Republic Walker, maybe from the CIS or something from one of the planets the jedi will be visiting?
  4. Sheez what's new, another loss. Not that it will affect the results, but the countered Stupefy-Crucio should have been a score for CM, and I would've been finished by the 2nd sequence. Anyway, thanks CM for the duel and Walter for the ADJ.
  5. Wow, the second half-trailer looks awesome! DoTF of course stirs up the excitement, but the stunning graphics are just lovely (Felucia at night is ). This might be the saving grace for the whole Season 3. Even if I like Ahsoka's character, I'm very much ok with her falling to the Dark Side, it really gives the whole series a much-needed twist of fate. I'm eagerly looking forward for the second half of the season. Some interesting screenshots:
  6. Here you go, for you and to others who might want to use it. Just resize to the appropriate size and print in paper or cloth. (Give credit if used).
  7. Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce versus Gryffindor Magust Ollivander Dippet Round 1 Carlos Peerce l 5 _________________________Ollivander Dippet l 5 Expelliarmus! - 0 _____________________________ Low - 0 Mid - 1 _____________________________________Sectumsempra - High - 0 Sectumsempra - Low - 0________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Crucio! - 0___________________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 High - 1 ____________________________________High - 0 Health: 5___________________________________Health: 3 Newly-promoted duelists Slytherin Death-Eater Carlos Peerce and Gryffindor Magus Ollivander Dippet resume their house rivalry in this promising-to-be-intense duel. Feeling extremely confident after becoming the school's first duelist Death-Eater, Carlos aggressively begins his Conquest of Terror by quickly disarming Ollivander and hitting the Gryffindor with a body shot. The Slytherin looks to bury the Magus in the early goings, attempting to cast a powerful low Sectumsempra spell, but Ollivander manages to deflect his rival's wand with an Expelliarmus before he could even attack. The Death-Eater swiftly glides into the air to recover his wand and unleashes a Cruciatus curse, only to be countered by the Gryffindor's Expecto Patronum. Carlos continues to be on the offensive, casting a high-arching spell that proves to be too powerful for Ollivander to counter and hits him in the head. The Death-Eater Carlos has clearly shown his distinct wizardry advantage in the opening round. Will the Gryffindor be able to come back in the second round? Send in your Round 2 DS when ready.
  8. Thanks for the comment, though I know how extremely unpopular these 'triangles' are among non-CW fans. Thanks Praiter! Regarding the spray painting, yeah it seemed to have been my signature technique, especially when desperate times call for desperate measures (read: lego parts in unavailable colors ). Close, but depending on the current rate, it might be earlier.
  9. I just ordered a couple of the new 2011 SW Clone Trooper and Mandalorian Battle Packs off eBay.
  10. Happy Birthday Skalldyr! - from your fellow Crustacean Mr. Krabs! Happy Birthday to all other celebrants too.
  11. Natural Talent is a passive ability, which means it takes effect over the duration of the whole duel. That means every countered spell in your duel will take one HP from you. If he scores a Sectumsempra on you, he takes 2 HP from you. If both of you cast the same Sectumsempra attack at the same sequence, he gets one HP from you. BTW, you still have to modify your DS, Sectumsempra can only be used once in every round.
  12. Very nice topic, this has been brought up quite a few times in the New Member's Introduction Thread, and it's nice to have a topic dedicated to it. This particular issue is a normal 'challenge' to most of us male AFOLs, trying to make our significant others understand our childhood passion of LEGO. There is really no proven formula dealing with this issue, as it is always a case-to-case basis. Personally, it was also kinda difficult for me to introduce my love for Lego to my girlfriend, as she thinks it's a bit childish for a mature adult to still continue buying and collecting a kid's toy. Even if she thought that way, I still continued with my Lego hobby, and as she always sees me browsing in Eurobricks, she got curious and checked out some of the stuff here. Surprisingly, she was very impressed with the beautiful CITY/Town creations that our MOC Experts have posted here. Eventually, she was able to understand my passion, the same way that I understand her own hobbies. She even registered as an EB member recently. It's just a classic give-and-take scenario. Other possible tips: - Having kid(s) is always the perfect excuse to buy more Lego stuff. - If you still don't have a kid, one trick that really works for me is when you plan to buy some expensive lego stuff, always make it a point to buy your partner something that she likes too, so she won't really mind that you just bought Lego. Then both of you are happy. Well, that's what only I can share as of the moment. I hope you'll have a relatively easy time telling your significant other. Bottomline is, if she really loves you, she'll understand. Period. 'Nuff said.
  13. You're welcome Madam! It's nice to see the photos are now up and running, the entry looks much better-presented now. Best of luck in the contest!
  14. Since I don't have any HP stuff that I can work on, I'd just re-use my Wizard Duel character, the Seductive Slytherin Magus (and soon-to-be Death-Eater ) Ms. Diana Fabray.
  15. Received your DS CF, but you have to use Sectumsempra in combination with either a Low, Mid, or High attack to take effect. Pls. submit your modified DS so I can post the Round 1 results. Thanks.
  16. Cool! Another tag-earning avatar contest. Got to put my thinking cap on... How is that HP-related? Sorry, for some reason it' s only now that I've only seen Hinck's new avatar.
  17. It's not a surprise that we are still getting a huge number of police, fire, and emergency minifigs. But what has been a significant improvement in the past couple of years is the exponential increase of civilian minifigs in CITY sets (coupled with those in the Collectible Minifig Series) which IMO, TLG has done a very good job on. I really won't mind the recycling of the police, fire, and emergency subthemes every two years or so, as long as we keep getting more civilians to rightfully populate our city/town layouts.
  18. Great job on this Ute lightingtiger! I really like the very sleek build of the front, brought about by the perfect use of that trans-black slope windscreen. It looks pretty accurate based on the ref. photos.
  19. That's really incredible, Wow! Lots of patience (and minifigs of course) by whoever did that.
  20. Yeah I remember that wonderful Lego Euro map! Welcome and we're glad to have you here in Eurobricks Tobias! Have fun here and see you around!
  21. Welcome aboard tattie! Looking forward for your Technic MOCs soon. Enjoy the site!
  22. I hope I can sustain it. DS sent! Me! Just send your DSs my way.
  23. Welcome to Eurobricks ABS bricks Plastikman (a.k.a. Blastem)! Sadly, I don't think you could change your username that easily, maybe if you ask a mod or you earn the ability to change usernames. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the forums here.
  24. Wow, this is a mightily impressive creation Saint! Just the sheer massive size of that thing and the astounding amount of details are simply amazing. Although I think it would be better if you could actually post some select photos in your post (following EB's image size limits) for other members to fully appreciate your wonderful MOC. This topic might help you --> How to Deeplink and Post Photos. Again, outstanding work on this one!
  25. Very impressive Town layout Red Fox! I agree it's nice to see the combination of modern city, classic town, and modular building sets together. What I really like about this layout is the use of the classic green roadplates. Personally, I like them better than the newer more city-specific road plates. Great job on setting this up and keep on expanding this!
