  1. Quite a nice LDD MOC efullner, though I have to agree the exterior design is a bit basic, but you could easily put some details on it since it's on LDD. The full red color scheme is really very Christmasy, and I really like the patterned bed sheet.
  2. Very nice entry dede_la_fee! I think a Pub is really an essential element to any Winter Village, you know, just to keep the guys warm with a couple of beers amidst the cold winter weather. But if may I suggest milady, I think it would certainly help your entry if you could deeplink some photos in your first post. That way, people will have more chances to appreciate your creation. Since you're using flickr, just click on the photo >>> then right-click >>> choose Medium 640 >>> right-click again on the photo >>> choose Properties >>> highlight the Address (URL), copy it >>> then paste on the Insert Image icon when you edit your first post, then you'll have your photos deeplinked, like this one: EDIT: Removed sample photo. Hope that helps! Very good work on this and good luck in the contest!
  3. Excellent entry AC! The whole build really captures the desert atmosphere perfectly, with the very effective usage of the tan and dark tan pieces, coupled with a couple of trees and the oasis water. And I really like the unconvetional shape of the base - a very unique and interesting aspect of this MOC. Great work as always and best of luck in the contest!
  4. Wow, this is certainly a very stunning castle creation! I just love the overall smoothness of the castle exteriors, as well as the fantastic details inside. What makes the presentation even better are the perpective shots that you did, so great job on the photography, and of course, the overall build CoolerTD!
  5. @Churchill, lucky you already have those new sets, thanks for sharing those infos. Though we're certainly looking forward for a pictorial review for better appreciation of the sets if you could provide one.
  6. For a non-HP fan who is not familiar with the real Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, I'd say this is a very well-built structure. I really like how you achieved the curved window part of the house, and the clever use of the minifig legs for the exteriors details. The interiors are very lively too, and I think the candle chandelier and attic beds are very nicely done. Great work overall and best of luck in teh contest pif500!
  7. Thanks for sharing this Darth Jar Jar, this may have been released a few years back, but this is certainly the first time I've seen this. And they really look great and very accurate. If only they were mass-produced...
  8. Excellent job on achieveing the overall shape of this huge ship pretty much accurately. Nice detailing too, and I really don't mind the studded surface, it looks good IMO. It's always nice to see builders creatings ships/vehicles that haven't been done in brickform before, so thanks for making this one trooper 278, great job overall!
  9. Slytherin Adept Johann Petershcmut versus Gryffindor Adept Ollivander Dippet SUDDEN DEATH Johann Peterschmut l 4 _____________________Ollivander Dippet l 4 Protego! - 0 __________________________________Protego! - 0 High - 0 _____________________________________Protego! - 0 Crucio! - 0____________________________________Expelliarmus! - 0 Low - 0______________________________________High - 1 Expelliarmus! - 0 ______________________________Expecto Patronum! - 0 Health: 3_____________________________________Health: 4 This close and intensely-fought duel has come to this sudden death round, as both Adepts aim to move one step closer to becoming a Magus. Knowing the one-hit-and-you're-done risk, both duelists start cautiously with a pair of defensive Protegos. Johann then attempts to strike his rival on the head, but Ollivander quickly blocks with a shield charm. The Slytherin aims to unleash his deadly Cruciatus curse, only to be surprised with a lightning quick Expelliarmus from the Gryffindor, sending his precious wand at the far side of the room. With the Slytherin disarmed and left vulnerable, Ollivander casts a high-arching spell that hits Johann, sending him unconscious to the ground, as the Gryffindor emerges victorious in this tightly-contested duel. Winner: Ollivander Dippet! Whew! That was an intense fight, great duelling guys! Congratulations Commander Fox! Valiant effort Admiral Ron, no shame on losing since the game was decided only at the last few sequences. You may now update your character profiles accordingly.
  10. General tips, hmmm.. let me see.. 1.) First, determine the character that you would want to make a custom minifig of. 2.) Search for reference photos of the character you want to make which will serve as guides to your customization. 3.) Plan - list down things that you'll be needing: required lego parts, custom pieces, decals, stickers, paint, etc. 4.) Acquire the things you need for your custom fig. Look for the parts you need in your parts bin, if they are not available purchase them on BL/eBay or any online store. For decals, you could make them on your own, or ask our helpful customizers here to do if they could make one for you. 5.) Once all the things you need are available, start customizing. There are a lot customization techniques that you could do (decal making, using sculpey, custom printing of lego parts, etc), so you might want to browse the MCW forum for these or ask anyone if you need some help/advice. 6.) Most of all, have fun doing it. You might not get it the first time, so try and try until you achieve your desired end product. Those are just general tips, if you have more specific questions, feel free to ask our competent customizers around.
  11. My answers in blue. PS: I believe LuxorV has already reminded you regarding posting standards. Pls. observe the minimum requirements of proper capitalization and punctuation.
  12. I could still remember the time when I posted my first version of these JSFs and you were the distinct one to really comment on how could I improve the design of these ships. I really appreciate those constructive criticisms and somehow I managed to address some, actually, only one, of the suggestions that you made: 1. Pointier tip - check 2. Curved slopes in front - my problem is there seems to be no piece/set of pieces that is pryamidal in shape and will taper into a point for the front hull. Also, I have to take into account the provision of interior space for the astromech body. 3. Grooves in front of the guns - achieveable but it would require using various wedge plate pieces vs. one whole 6x12 wedge plate. 4. Back fin cutting into the bubble canopy - can be done too but would entail redesigning whole the rear part. Also, having the fin 'cut' or partly placed above the bubble will mean a one-stud wide tail fin (which I'm not fond of) and I believe the current thickness of the flags is more accurate. 5. Covered engines - achievable too, but I did not put any redesigning emphasis on the oft-forgotten underside part. Miscellaneous: I've also though of making a SNOT build for the wings, but I'm always discouraged by the difficulty of achieveing the signature patterns of each ship using SNOT approach. Another thing I had to consider is modifying the design would entail redesigning of all of these 8 individual ships, and due to time, resource, and inspiration/drive limitations, it took me several months to come up with an updated version. Overall, I know my JSF designs are far from perfect, but I will take your suggestions in mind and in the right time I might just be able to address these issues and make my JSFs more accurate. Anyway, I really appreciate your constructive criticisms fallenangel!
  13. I'm glad this thread was revived simply because of the hilarious (and some though-provoking) content on these SW single pane comics. Great job on these Cloney, keep 'em coming!
  14. Amazing creation DaveE! I agree the roofs of the village houses are the "star" of this MOC, they're simply accurate and uniquely-built, something I haven't seen anywhere before. And I must say you really captured the overall 'Village' feel in this build - a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere before the Vikings head to their perilous journey as the wives and family stay back at home. Truly a great work!
  15. Nice basic design erik, however I think you should've made a more accurate version of the flag, with the right number of red/white stripes and white stars. I know it would require more pieces which you might not have at the moment, but if you're making a Nationalistic symbol you might as well make it accurate.
  16. Hi MorgenoSkirata! Welcome to the world of minifig customization! I would like to help the best way I can, but you have to be more specific with your questions. - What specific troopers do you plan to do? - Do you need custom decals, helmets, accessories, weapons? These are just a couple of things you should take into consideration before making your custom minifigs. Also, there are a lot of notable SW customizers here which may be able to help you with their insights/techniques (brickplace custom, darth yogi, The_Customizer) Here are some of my works if you want to see some custom clone stuff --> KielDaMan's Custom Star Wars Figures Hope that helps!
  17. Welcome aboard MorgenoSkirata! Enjoy the site and see you around!
  18. Welcome to Eurobricks Cad Bane! Glad to know another SW fan joining us. Like Walter said, as much as there those who don't like the CW series, there are also those who see its significant contribution to the whole SW saga. I'm proud to be one of them, nice to know you are too. Well, enjoy the site and see you around the SW forum!
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks charles! Hope you'll have fun here. See you around!
  20. The 'Sliding' Slytherin would like to take your challenge Frankfurt, desperately hoping to finally overcome a Naturally-Talented Magus. Anyone care to ADJ?
  21. AFAIK, TLG will never make specific highly-accurate weapons/blasters which will have limited use elsewhere. They make the blasters/pistols to be as generic as possible so it can be used in various applications. Making a DC-15 rifle and blaster makes no sense at all since it will only be limited to the use of the clones. That's why there are third-party customizers which cater to this accurate minifig weapons market. Sorry for joining this off-topic a bit, just sharing my 2 cents.
  22. These are great customs Joris! At first I also thought the decals were 'shopped, but I now understand after reading your explanation. Maybe additional photos of these lovely customs would greatly help in appreciating these more?
  23. Simply an amazing creation lisqr, very beautifully-done Russian-style architecture. It really looks stunning especially in the town layout. Impressive work as always!
  24. Oh wow, I agree the curved walls are what makes this beautiful MOC a winner. How you did it is beyond my comprehension (I see you've used some type of paper-insert technique - quite clever), and it really looks great and just perfect for this tube train station. Exemplary work AJW!
