Wouldn't a "Like" button improve the forum
XimenaPaulina replied to Vindicare's topic in Forum Information and Help
I would have to agree with those who previously disagreed with this idea. Sorry for the lack of a better description, but the "Like" system is for lazy people who can't even be bothered to provide insightful comments. Just look at it this way: a MOCer/Reviewer spends countless hours just to come up with their build/review, and the best thing you could show your appreciation is a lazy one-second "hit the like button"? If one truly appreciates the work of someone, the least thing one could do is to provide comments of praise and/or constructive criticism. Surely, a few words/sentences wouldn't take much of one's time would it? -
Brilliant MOC CM! Gotta love the extra effort on the "street backdrop" - as impressive as the diner interior itself! This actually reminds me of the HISHE Superhero Cafe:

What was the last movie you watched?
XimenaPaulina replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
This is bit freaky, but I just recently watched Armageddon the day before Michael Clarke Duncan passed away. He's one my most favorite "supporting actor" who always gives outstanding performance that rivals (Green Mile) or even outshines (Daredevil) the lead actor. You'll be missed Mr. Duncan, "Hollywood's Gentle Giant". -

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
XimenaPaulina replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I see no reason why we wouldn't get either an ARF trooper (existing helmet mold) or an AT-RT driver (new helmet mold), putting a regular clone in the AT-RT just won't look right. The question is where will this set be based on, ROTS or CW? Judging by the presence of commando/assassin droid it's most likely CW. And was it confirmed that the clone in this set would be a 501st trooper? If it is, then there is the possibility of getting the 501st ARF/AT-RT driver (below) from the Umbara story arc (which makes more sense since it will be compatible with the other sets - Z-95, Umbarran MHC). The 501st ARF/AT-RT driver is basically a cross between the regular ARF helmet and the AT-RT driver (transition from CW to ROTS). -

Not surprising coming from a TCW fan. I understand what you're saying from your CW POV, considering this year was an OT-heavy year (7 OT, 3 PT, 5 CW), so I guess TLG is just balancing out things giving the spotlight on CW sets next year (of course, much to the chagrin of OT fans, but there's still hope in the second wave). Personally, I'm glad to know that the sets that interest me the most are the small to medium-sized sets - the 2 BPs, the AT-RT, BARC, A-Wing, and Z-95 sets - they seem to be all quite in the 'acceptable' price range that would be easy for the wallet. Though I'm not so sure of the Umbaran set, simply not a fan of weird enemy vehicles, only the new-outfitted Ahsoka and Umbaran figs intrigue me. -

BARC with side car: It would be interesting to see if the design of the BARC would be the same as the last one or we'd get an improved version this time (though I highly doubt it). I'd assume this will also be the set where we'll get the Phase II Rex (and not in the Z-95 set). -

I'm officially envious of how you got this rare old set so cheaply! $2.50 for a then $30 set and currently fetching up for $230 for a MISB on Bricklink? GREAT pick-up indeed you lucky one! This really is one very fine set, having a good combination of solid minifig line-up, a nice little structure, an iconic vehicle, and a now-rare SW creature! Greedo is one of the best SW alien minifigs but for me the "star" of this set is the Dewback. I really really wish TLG would re-release this in a future set. I hope that the current wave of Tatooine-based sets is a good sign of things to come (a proper Cantina set in the near future). Good job on the review BTW, thanks for sharing!

Saesee Tiin had an orange Delta 7 starfighter (below), though I highly doubt we'll be getting that new orange Delta 7B-Eta 2 hybrid considering it's not prominent and looks a bit a "forced issue" IMO.

Brilliant review of an equally great classic Town set Luxor! I particularly remember the beautifully-printed baseplate of this set when you used it in one of your MOCs, I really wish modern sets could still give us these types of highly-detailed base plates. And hopefully more "countryside sets" like this one will be released in the future, if the recent Camper and Car & Caravan sets are signs of things to come.

There was also a CGI image of Galadriel in the game that has surfaced before, so either Eowyn or Galadriel might be the best bet(s) to be released in an upcoming set. Though if we base it on the cover image of the game, that already looks like a pretty good set (Eowyn, Merry vs. Witch-King in Fell Beast = the most lopsided match-up with the most unbelievable result ). Looking forward overall, considering there are only three prominent female characters in LOTR (Arwen the third one), it's bound to happen that we'll get those three after the license is over.

Indeed those CGI Fell Beast, Oliphant, Witck-King, and Eowyn do look awesome! Even if this is just from the video game, it gives us a great chance that we'll see them in future sets.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

Nah, too much random helmet printing for my taste. A generic Phase II clone pilot would do (and probably be a good bet for the set). -

I was thinking about the upcoming Z-95 set, considering it's most likely based on the Umbara story arc last season due to the presence of the General Krell fig, we might be getting Hawk (below) as the clone pilot who appeared (briefly in that arc). Personally I prefer just a generic Phase II clone pilot (new helmet mold with yellow linings) since it'll be more useable for other purposes. For the two rumored clone troopers of the set they'll probably be from the 501st Legion (under Krell's command) - so probably Appo and a generic 501st trooper in Phase II armor. EDIT: Scrap the possibility of Hawk, as I remembered he flew a gunship and not a Z-95 in the series (as well as in the CW movie), but still it's safe to assume we'd get a new clone pilot helmet like in the image. -
[Software] LDD2PovRay
XimenaPaulina replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I've experienced this recently with my last render attempt. After I thoroughly enjoyed my Batman Tumbler render, I became overly ambitious and tried to render this "nightmare" of POV-Ray: After more than 30 hours, the rendering stopped at around 35%, the monitor changing to a blue screen with the text "physical memory dumped" (that's what I remember) then the computer shut down. I know the model is composed of A HUGE amount of trans pieces, but I was ready to be patient even if it took days for this to finish, though guess I reached the limit of my computer's capabilities (Intel Core i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz, 2.00GB RAM, 64-bit OS) so the computer just "gave up". [Default LDD2PovRay settings (no changes), 512x384 No AA, 1366 x 768 image resolution] -
Welcome to the Heroica sub-forum!

Great to know the ol' idea suggested before got considered - and look at these visually appetizing results! Even if I don't play Heroica, I'm glad the players got to have their own dedicated subforum. Excellent work to those who did the graphics (the usual suspects Shadows, Hinck, Draggy, and Sandy) -

Yes this upcoming season will finally introduce the Eta-2s, though I don't think there's any difference between the CW and movie versions (except for the show's penchant of making custom rainbow-colored paint jobs). But knowing TLG's love for making small-sized starfighter sets (just look at the yearly Delta 7Bs they've released), we might just get a CW Eta-2 along the way... -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

At least in this case the flick-fire missiles would actually be used in the right way! (unlike that weird ball-rocket launcher at the back of the previous Tumbler which looked out of place) -

XimenaPaulina replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like the idea, but seems highly unlikely considering the exterior pieces are quite a lot to have additional black pieces included which would drive the cost too high. What I'm curious about is what type of camo-Tumbler would come in the set, would it be the regular one or the modified variant with rocket launchers?. I think this is the set-up where the idea of extra-pieces would play better - since you'd only need to change the top half of the vehicle. The idea of customizing the camo-Tumbler as either the regular or the rocker-launcher variant would be sweet. (though still wishful thinking) -

Finally, Eta-2s... It's about damned time! R2-KT (or not?) Republic Commandos Trailer looks good, but you know what they say about good trailers...
