Great set, looks beautiful on my shelf. I bought mine for full price when it came out and I picked up a second for half-off for my sister just recently. Almost bought a third for $30 US recently just for parts. Definatly go for it.

:-D I thought the same thing myself...perhaps stick it up in the rule link up top there /\

ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
Deinonychus replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here and there I get some gunky bricks from sets I buy from ebay or Bricklink. That's when I use some cotton swabs and some denatured alcohol to clean the bricks up. I don't even think to get that stuff near printed pieces. I've also mass-washed bricks in lukewarm water and a little splash of bleach with no ill effects. And I must emphasize LITTLE splash of bleach. *y* -
Enjoy! How to Behave on an Internet Forum

To go off topic a bit here... I've noticed LEGO never calls the Jellies "Martians" always "Aliens" Way I see it, during the Life on Mars theme, the human explorers made friends with the actual LEGO Martians, and in turn gained mineral rights to the energy crystals on Mars. Then, during the Mission to Mars mining project, they are attacked by hostile Aliens who desire the crystals as well. At least that's how it plays out in my head

Any news or photos on Toy Fair London or NYC??

I absolutely love that little detail myself. The collapsible handle is one of my favorite features of the motorized AT-AT, I'm glad to see the idea has carried over to another set *wub* -

LEGO Group will take over Czech production

So, obviously things were already in motion to correct the few rumblings I had been hearing about quality issues. Sounds like this is nothing but 100% win *y* -
Thanks everyone! As a gift I'll gladly take any and all Megabloks you guys have and don't want...well, any intact non-melted ones, or ones that haven't had...things...done to them ;-)

Well I'm on Comcast and I haven't had any trouble getting on Bricklink at all today... ...and if I did, so what. Like I can't live without Bricklink for a few hours :-P

Oh...I guess you have to have your country settings on UK or some other country in Europe to know what the heck is going on...cause the US S@H site looks the same as it has for months :-P

Eh...so I was wrong :-P So, another day and then we'll get Creator, Mars Mission, City, Castle, etc. -
You know...looking at some of those odd price points makes me think Marketing just said to the Designers; "You know what guys, go nuts. Do whatever you have to and use as many elements as you need to build these things up to look cool and pack them full of Minifigs because you know what, Star Wars is our top theme and the way we seem to sell just about every set, we don't think a high price will scare too many people off...especially if we load up with Minifigs. So just make them look sweet!" If that is the case, I got no problems over here

Okay...I've pointed this out like 50 times already but here it goes again... If you look at the pricing card for the other Bionicle canister sets, the ones out now, they ALSO say $12.99 As for the air vehicles, it seems LEGO is doing away with the Minifig-scale playsets this year (which never sell anyway) and are going with large Technic vehicles piloted by Matoran. These seem to have quite a few pieces and yes, will be more expensive then the smaller $20 Titan sets. But a big $80 vehicle with a rider seems better then a crappy $80 Minifig playset any day. Takanuva is $30 US...which means he's a big Titan like Vezon/Fennrak or Maxilos/Spinax. LEGO hasn't raised the prices per-se, just changed the price points the sets fill. And besides, they would be well within their rights to raise prices if they did. The price of a barrel of crude oil has skyrocketed in recent months, and when oil prices go up, the cost of raw plastic goes up...so we should consider ourselves lucky that prices have stayed as stable as they have

Oh...this one I just love *wub* I hope it's a female so it can have my babies

I wouldn't worry about the Bionicle canisters...the current sets are listed at $13 there as well. But the Gunship...well...at least it's 1034 pieces ;-) -

Great licensed and Bionicle gallery here... http://toyfair08.asmzine.com/gallery/lego/index.html Those Star Wars prices just made my wallet cry out in pain :'-( EDIT - Another quick note...ASM has an appointment to meet with LEGO tomorrow ( Sunday ) so I'd expect more images of other themes in this gallery in about 24 hours -

Problem is it's a $100 US limited edition toy with horribly apparent articulation points :-/ -
What do you want to see from the Batman Theme
Deinonychus replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Licensed
Now...if LEGO could pull this off... Bruce Wayne used to have a private jet that would transform into a Batplane. That'd be a fun set to build and mess with...but I'm sure figuring out the practical construction of that would be a nightmare 8-| And can't we get Gordon and some GCPD cops in full riot gear? That'd make a nice figure pack with a police car or something -
Deino's MOC/Mod Image Dump Part III - Saucer and Doomwheeler
Deinonychus replied to Deinonychus's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Yeah, if you look at the underside of the second picture, you can see the barrels of the cannons I mounted in shallow recesses underneath. Totally forgot to get any pictures of the underside. Hey, use the Deino smiley all you want, I tend to drag it to every forum I'm a part of and it usually becomes a cult favorite -
The special edition Toa Lesovikk is a pretty decent set. The only problem is, displaying him among the other Toa with his underwater sled is a bit of a hassle. So I just took some of the pieces from the sled, stuck them to Lesovikk, and I can display him easily without feeling I wasted half the set. I have a feeling that Toa Ignika will have the same sort of thing done to him. *** I was only slightly interested in the Toa Terrain Crawler set when I first saw pictures of it...especially since previous Bionicle Minifig-scale sets had been pretty banal. I picked it up after Christmas because it was on clearance and built it up discovering that it's not really all that bad...then I looked at it and realized what would make it totally awesome...BIG FRIGGIN' WHEELS! So, obviously all I did was yank the wheels off my Mega Core Magnetizer (6989) and attach them to the bottom of the Crawler using axles put through the convenient 2x2 hole plates attached to the bottom of the thing. And after sitting on my kitchen pass-through for a week, I decided to make the modification permanent and buy 6 more huge wheels off Bricklink. And I must say...I absolutely love this set now *wub*

I'm a huge fan of Mars Mission sets...but only half of them. The alien ships I like not so much, so I took some parts from unassembled alien ships and made my own saucer. It's nothing spectacular, but it's compact and I like it. The feel of it reminds me of the Snowpeeder sets for some reason. *** Back when I bought the Mobile Devastator this summer, I liked it, but not enough to burn as much shelf space as it would require to permanently display it. So I took the thing apart and built something else. I call it the Robot Doomwheeler. Love those big wheels! When LEGO revealed the Troll Battle Wheel from this year's Castle line, I couldn't help but notice the similarities, so I was very interested in how they had tackled the problem of keeping a central section up between two large wheels. I ended up having a trailing boom with a smaller wheel...their trigger handle on the Troll Wheel isn't too different. Guess there's only so many ways to execute this design :-P

Vladek's Dark Fortress has got to be one of the best castle sets ever. How could I ever remove it from my shelf? But I needed room for that cool new Skeleton Tower...what's a Raptor to do? Fortunately, the central tower of Vladek's pad was easy to remove, and even more fortunately, the base of the Skeleton Tower fits right on top of the foundation! Of course, the bone cage smacks against the walls some, but it's too cool of a feature for me to remove. The exising colors even blend well together. It's almost as if the LEGO designers planned this. And you can't miss the similarities to a certain Castle Grayskull. Oh, and don't mind the ninja in the tower...he creeps around my LEGO room and I'm never exactly sure where he'll turn up. And here's a little closer look at the central tower in case you want a better idea of how to do this yourself ;-)
