Sweet! I'm digging that jeep big time! See there...it's the licensed exclusives we were promised...the complainers can calm down a little bit now :-P So is it safe to assume that this will be the set that follows that little Creator dinosaur set (20003) we've seen already?

Nah, leave the white how it is and swap out the orange for gray and make the canopies transparent black or that reflective gold color...then you've got a winner ;-) But I was sort of thinking this earlier...with more "Spaceish" elements in the Factory, it'll afford us the opportunity for some color swaps in the Mars Mission sets...I hope

I think what he's stabbing at is that these sets might be better suited as a general-issue space theme and not so much of an exclusive aimed at adult collectors. I kinda think the opposite. Aside from a big honking flagship at around 120 pieces, these sets seem to have everything you need to be a single theme spread over two boxes, which...in the long view, is probably for the best. Doesn't make me want a big ship any less though.

I'd punch my mom in the face for a UCS Bongo or more entries for the Gungan Grand Army. We need us some damn Fambaa shield generators and some Falumpaset ammunition carts. I'm also going to say we need an updated AAT. I didn't used to think so because it's pretty much perfect. But I saw what they did to the "perfect" Republic Gunship, so now I think LEGO can improve any older set design

FOOLS! :-P Seriously though...the more I look at them, the more they're growing on me. Also, knowing you guys were, for the most part, limited to what was already in the Designer program helps me appreciate what was actually accomplished here. I know personally I've never successfully created any damn thing with that program...just not enough of the pieces I want

Those are WAY TOO COOL to be true *wub*

You're right... Stormtroopers! Those sets need about 2 dozen Stormtroopers each...and Tauntauns But, I'm glad that's not it and I'm delighted to hear about the possibility of open-backed bases and more small open space scooters. (Sadly almost all Classic Space Minifigs were killed in some manner of micrometeor strike) I'm still curious as to the Minifigs (if any) that make up the rank of the Space Skulls.

:-/ I dunno...Cafe Corner, Market Street, and the trains didn't look like someone's MOC...but these... I'll have to reserve further judgment until I see it all and in context. But I can tell you that I was WAY more excited by the images of the 3 new Mars Mission sets for this summer. :-$

:-D I just recently snagged that off Bricklink because I had it as a little tot and couldn't quite recreate it from my left-over childhood pieces. If I knew then what I know now I'd have never used my teeth to pry LEGOs apart. It is still a fantastic set, probably one of the best looking of the Classic vehicles. It now holds a place of honor on the shelf with the Mega Core Magnetizer and the MT-101 Armored Drilling unit. But you guys have convinced me I need to check out some Insectoids sets. Lots of big plastic wheels in those...and I haven't gotten a set with big plastic wheels that I've hated yet. And speaking of Exploriens, what about the Explorien Starship (6982)? Is it worthy to hang from the ceiling with my Mission Commander, Galactic Mediator, and Deep Freeze Defender...or is it really as ugly and ungainly as it looks? ;-)

Do we know the Skulls have the Black and Red Ogel/Skeleton Army color scheme or are we just assuming? I for one am hoping for black and purple...just 'cause we need more purple elements :-P

Well it makes sense. Factory has been larger one or two-shot sets from the beginning. Expecting an entire new theme was kind of getting hopes up a little...but who can say, if the sales are high the same theming could be introduced into smaller and more numerous sets...perhaps even a mass-market space theme after Mars Mission or at least a S@H exclusive theme. Don't give up hope yet!

Oh absolutely *y* I'd buy something like that big Skull Dreadnought in a second...super-expensive UCS-style be damned, but it doesn't fit too well with the "Legoland" vibe. True, the Factory buildings like Cafe Corner are a little more intricate and expansive, but they still fit in with other pre-established LEGO sets for Minifigs. I'm thinking more along the lines of Mars Mission, but conceived with more of an eye towards looks and sexiness of design and abandoning any sort of pre-determined price point or piece count limitations. Essentially...the best of both brick worlds

Space *skull* s? Star Justice? Awesome! It sounds like Blacktron and the Space Police for the new millennium! Fan designs along with all the new parts they've been using in Mars, Exo-Force, and Star Wars sets recently sets this up to be pretty damn good. I'm real eager to see what comes out of this...even if my bank account isn't

Deinonychus.com is some girls site...good thing when I went to register my domain, I wasn't interested in simply my name

7037, 7038, 7040, 7048 all found in UK TRU

Thanks for saving me the trouble of having to look all those numbers up *y* -
I never even knew Blacktron were bad guys until the Space Police showed up and started tossing them in space-jail. |-/ And coming back around to more recent sets, I've always been of the opinion that the Mars Mission Aliens were hostile invaders from somewhere other then the Red Planet because 1) We already have LEGO Martians, and 2) Having the human miners as the focus of the line who would be "stealing" their crystals doesn't fit with LEGO's theming. For a little while there I toyed with the idea of the crystals being the egg/larval/unevolved forms of the transparent green aliens...but pretty much rejected that when I realized that they too use the crystals to power their vehicles.

I wouldn't really worry about the Dwarf's Mine yet...they only released that in October as a retail exclusive and from the looks of Toy Fair and the retailer catalogs it'll become regularly available with the rest of the new Castle sets in the Spring.

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009)
Deinonychus replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Capitalization is a tricky mistress... I specified the TIE/ln, or rather the standard model hex-winged TIE Fighter, not the TIE/In Interceptor model. -
Oh...like this chap? Plausible?

Actually, for me it created the urge to scowl a lot and proclaim to my Wife that "I'm the goddamn Batman!" But that's just me

Crimson Skies! Air pirates, zeppelins, lots of custom fighter planes, 1930's style adventure...you couldn't loose! *wub*

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009)
Deinonychus replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'd say a UCS TIE/ln Fighter. It's big. It's Iconic. It's something we don't have already.
