Agreed. If anything, I'd actually sit and contemplate a specific pattern to do them in... like perhaps more of one type at the bottom dithering up into the other color above. So many people forget that when mocing. Taking pics as you go along GREATLY enhances the final product, especially if you lock an undesirably-colored piece too deep inside the moc to easily go back.

Those are some pretty good area-covering pieces there for just 40 bucks! Sure, some pieces are extremely large, but I also see wacky uses for them. It's a bit better than I thought, seeing your broken down pics of it. And the engines do indeed have the rotors, unlike the early pic we saw. On top of that, for the uncreative people who don't like to moc, it actually LOOKS like what it's supposed to without stretching one's imagination to depressingly non-credible lengths. I want this.

Yeah... that blue hair done in trans neon orange... that'd be adequate for a Ghost Rider figure. :oD

Glad to hear it. Lego's good like that. Rarely does any toy company ever give a damn to such an extent.
-
I imagine it being likely, as Lego gets to showcase further their newer barb / fang pieces. Wouldn't mind some tan ones this time.
-
Probably. The more I think about it, the more it seems that studs there would INCREASE the strength. So looking for an alternate reason... someone has to use more / larger bricks to cover a wider distance from each corner?

The first few times I used BL, it was stressful. I go in with an ABSOLUTE dollar amount that won't be gone over. Once I'm done in a store, I usually end up with an order around $60... then the great pruning begins. I take a DAMNED long time to do just one order. It gets easier though every time. Now that there's a few stores I completely trust, the stressful search for buyers (whose payment types / country jives with mine) is completely cut out of the process. Instead of walking block after block through a large city, I now know where the stores I want are. Some stores consistently give you discount coupons every time you order. Missing Brick usually has a 5% off coupon if you do another order soon after the first. So yeah... go in with what you're going to spend already known. Oh... I also notice that if you start a shopping cart, but fall asleep or come back hours later, there's a GOOD chance that some items purge from your cart due to some time limit... as well as other people entering in that time and completing orders with some of what you wanted in their checkout. If you come back 24 hours after starting a cart... I DOUBT much if anything will be in there.

This just HAS to come with a Sarlaac pitt. I hope it's suspended in the air with a few of those trans-clear post rods.

I find it weird how the new line's called Exo-Force so soon after they make a bike named Exo Force.

I'm wondering if that adds structural integrity to the plate... like, if you look at all the damaged baseplates that they sell on Bricklink, the breaks are usually on the edges, going around studs. Maybe not putting studs there, you can beat the crap out of the plate and not have the edges crumple. Kids are pretty rough with them. And when those edges DO break off, it's a mighty sharp edge to cut ya' with. Yeah... definitely structural integrity.

What version of Batman do you wish to see???

"Aquired" and watched Justice League Unlimited Series 2, Episode 13 "Epilogue". NICE. It made me want a (Lego-made) Batman Beyond figure all the more. ...and a return of that show. As for the planned line... I better be seein' me some nice blue trans getting tossed around on Mr.Freeze. It'd be awesome if there was a blue trans "flame" helmet that fit over a minifig head... because then if they made that in orange, you could slap a skull underneath and make a proper Ghost Rider fig. -
Interesting wheel-well pieces on the yellow firetruck. I'm REALLY curious to see the seams on the hull of the giant jet. It looks so one piece. I see me buying multpiles of the green and yellow racers. I'm GUESSING the motor on the larger Racers is pull back... it'd be sweet if they were 9V, but I'm admittedly talking out my butt on that one. :D

The simplicity of the original game was great, both in story and minimal animation. Also something I really miss is that the Tohunga were like these clever, bratty little squirts who seemed capable of anything. All these new things that've come afterwards depicting the lives of matoran and metruan are just "empty" feeling. All of the smart, prankstery humor is just GONE now.

EXcuSe mE, bUT thEY'Re LAUNCHERS, NoT GUNS! (typical Lego employee response) They look like handweapons to me, rifles at best. Launchers are things you gotta' carry on your shoulder. X D Lego not calling them guns is like when you're in an incense store and someone comes in "Hey, do you sell BONGS?" And the person behind the desk yells "Stop, we can get in trouble! PLEASE refer to them as water pipes or bubble blowers!" :| I can't quite figure out what I'm seeing at the end of their projectiles... green technic ball joints like from the Dino set, or something different? :/

I can't think of any decent criticisms for the Piraka. #8900 has a FLOWER as a weapon. That's about it. 2006 is kicking serious megablocks so far it seems.

Yeah, the old Riddler looked like that "free government money" Matthew Lesko guy. If the riddler's a cerebral nerd, I think the long-haired twigboy redesign can't hurt. I don't mind the anime look to The Batman or to Teen Titans, and I usually HATE most american cartoons. The thing I most don't like about The Batman is that the redesigns from the Animated 90's series were more cool looking... everyone wasn't a pumped up EXTREME monster. Bruce Timm's character designs WERE a bit redundant when it came to females though. I also happened to watch an episode of this new one where the ventriloquist guy built a GIANT freaking robot... it was so far-fetched and silly. I hate these "EXTREME!" fads. -
Didn't look as good as you might think. Tried it. No good. Also tried adding studless plates, also not good. Too many corners, not enough round. Unless you're using a different terminology, I think two tiny friction pin / stud connectors followed by a regular red smooth tile would've stuck out, but being a dragon cowl, it'd look kinda' snouty and right. Or since it's angled upwards slightly, two 1 x 1 red slopes side by side so the fatass part of them is hanging towards the bottom of the stud... of course being attached to frictionless pins means they may sway, but it'd look good in a pic. Bah. lol. This is a first-come, first-serve hobby. :-D No, that's love. Mr.Gray (Trobenjin in my BShelf) has been "done" for a few months now. Every time I went to throw him up on there, I got some brilliant idea and reworked something. There's merit in having the willpower to not just publish anything the second it seems done. Chances are noone'd ever care or notice, but them's the breaks. YOU'D still know.

It almost looks like the cloth cape that came with Jawa figures back in the 70's... minus the head part.
-
Absolutely. Thet thar's Bionicle parts. I see: neck shoulders elbows wrists waist (turns) pelvis knees ankles and maybe the wings. ACTION SHOTS! ACTION SHOTS!
-
Agh... after seeing Thraxis's creation, I was going to use a flame sword I'd built just for a moc looking very much like this one. Figures. X D Me likey. Good use of the white barbs at the top of the pelvis. Good use of slopes on the chest... works on this moc, whereas it detracted from one or two of your others. This dude's a dragon, and it just looks right. Forearms could be a lil' better, maybe skinnier, though initial size of the parts dictate that above what can actually be done. There's not much to dislike here. It's one of the best mocs I've seen from you for awhile. Now I have to go back and disfigure mine so it doesn't look as much like yours, ya' rat bastard. |-D (Not to mention, your proportions flow WAY better than the ones on mine... you've put it to shame and it hadn't even been published yet!)

Yeah, when I signed up here, I noticed that even under the correct settings, the clock was still off an hour.

LEGO Pinball
JINZONINGEN73 replied to Hobbes's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's awesome junk like that which makes me sad to not be clever enough with RCX Mindstorms units. Or just not patient enough, which is nearly the same thing. I'd sure hate to try and tilt one of those. Could be a disastrously heartbreaking maneuver. -
Some impressive entries popped up right near the end, not that the ones at the start weren't. Great stuff. Wish I'd joined this site sooner so I could really have whipped it out on ya'. You know, my brick...s. Bricks. My bricks. I said bricks. :D
-
I wouldn't say "cool", but the joints in some of them are crucial to good, large mocs. And in decent quantity, depending on set. (I can't believe they reused those awful Bohrok limbs again... uuuuugh). Worst. Part. EVER.

Did you see the JLU episode with Batman Beyond as an adult?? It was fantastic. I saw one where Batman and the other guys were stuck in a rift... and the black Green Lantern momentarily gets switched with the white Green Lantern. X D That was a priceless way to sneak in old characters. But nope, missed the Batman Beyond adult one. Dammit.
