  1. ^^^ Other Lego lines included or not, there should've been a Bionicle fighting game loooong ago. And heck, now they've got dozens of characters that could be selected. ::imagines special moves with Rahi beasts temporarily jumping in off the sides of the screen::
  2. The folder might be down at times, but here's a pictorial breakdown of Zaktan: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=155149
  3. It was a pretty interesting period. It was one of the last times TRULY that war was fought by Americans where technology wasn't all over the place in some way. The civil war brought about tin cans & long-lasting food (after a few mistakes of non-pasteurization). It grosses my wife out, but I also find interesting that soldiers carried tins around with maggots, to place in their wounds and eat only the dead flesh. Hey, it's only as gross as your imagination allows it. Didn't the Civil war also bring about submarines? I'd be likely on the confederate side. I'm not saying it'd have been the RIGHT choice, but I sympathize with them more. Here they are, finally free from Europe and BAM! ...it looks like their own country is starting to emulate them. I believe a strong central government is the way to go, but I also hypocritically see the benefits of 2 competitive entities attempting to "outdo" each other.
  4. V, Empire Strikes Back. Not just my favorite Star Wars movie, but one of the greatest movies ever made PERIOD.
  5. Kinda'... redirect to a response from mfuss. This has already been gone into in-depth on the other Lego site I go to, but I don't feel like dragging the silliness out much further by repeating everything all over again. Long story short, I did not get the impression that communication has been properly conveyed between the staff, and this trickles all the way down to me. On a good note, the contest issue's being addressed and they're proposing ways of doing them better. I wish them the best of luck, should the feedback suggested be taken to heart. I can't say I'll still be there though if the next contest starts and my status is not restored.
  6. Violence and darkness ARE good for Bionicle, in my opinion anyway. But now that I think about it, I probably say that on the subconscious understanding that this is because the simple but effective humor and everything from the very first online game was a rarity that could never be accomplished again. In the absence of what the first one was, violence is probably more entertaining to grow the Bionicle user base. And hey... we have bullet-firing guns with this next wave. "Launchers". Oh oh yeah... launchers. X D If Lego could SOMEHOW get a clue and restore the original team to effectively emulate what the first online game was, it'd be sufficient advertising for the Piraka. I'd love to see the Super-Deformed style of Tohunga-like inhabitants doing clever raids against the Piraka. But like I'm saying... if they can't pull that off, go for violence and dismemberment. Hey, it works for anime. $$$
  7. Yeah, I think the flower weapon is one of those big, chunky pieces like the Vahki legs. The projectiles appear to be funky green marbles or something.
  8. Vader: When replacing plutonium rods from the reactor, make sure only to handle the safe, red, depleted ones and... and uh... and... Oh my. Malfoy: ... ... ...I'm never having kids, am I?
  9. I would not even dare to build a one-color castle just by buying retail sets. If I were to walk into Walmart right this second... yikes... I have no idea what sets would even come close to satisfying some large structure. And the cost of all these multiple sets? :| You have a point I didn't realize till now... you can do great things with say, 2 system sets and 3 Bionicle. But for system-only guys like on this site... HELL no.
  10. BZPower member Flintsmith started an auction on there for all 6 Piraka which he somehow already obtained. Here's the 3 pics: According to him, they come with 3 balls to shoot. I'm guessing this "marble-shooting" fetaure is a direct response to the recently-brought-to-America action figures called B-Daman. (Bomberman looking guys who shoot marbles out their chest)
  11. This is, believe it or not, many years old now. Doubt it'll be changed anytime soon. :|
  12. Dammit... why can't America get such a nice bucket o' colors? :|
  13. You have to admit though... if you're a broke-megablocks booger like me, it is pretty economical to JUST get the parts you need. But yeah, I'd prefer to directly support Lego's sales directly, if it were humanly possible. The things Bricklink CAN get you that you can't buy in a store are long-gone sets and weird parts that were only released to Lego employees, never in sets.
  14. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Quincy/S...ce/dscf0288.jpg Take a look at the first set there... Toa Nuva chest armor in lime. :oD
  15. That might be something not told until 2007 or whenever. You know, instead of like having Alpha Team jump from theme to theme with no explanation, maybe these guys tell more of a story.
  16. Any number of ways. An employee knowing the true costs of the items, an inventory clerk's numbers coming up wrong, being caught slapping stickers on by security cam, a manager proudly observing a high-end item being brought through in quantity followed by seeing a small checkout... maybe even Lego itself asking questions... could have been anything. Let's ask Bill. Hey Bill? How'd they catch on to you? Well that's rude. He won't talk. :oD
  17. OOF. I don't know laws, but I hope THOSE haven't been confiscated as "evidence". >__< I had no idea anyone but me on here would even know the dude, much less have outstanding orders with him. :'( EDIT: Ah, this may be of help: Worth a shot. You might still get stiffed, but at least you can try.
  18. I'm not sure of what the staff structure is like there, but I hope his stupid butt hasn't compromised / messed up the smooth-running awesomeness that is Bricklink.
  19. The inventory admin of Bricklink no less... crazy... http://news.lugnet.com/mediawatch/?n=1968 Printing up UPC codes from cheaper sets and slapping them on Millenium Falcons is BAD, okay? I was awaiting feedback from him on Bricklink...
  20. Oh...Oh... Oh my god... NEW fingers? F'ing FINALLY!
  21. Back in the house we used to live in before the last one, there was a grated panel directly on the floor itself, with a giant heating unit directly underneath. This was because the house was old & that's how the long-gone coal furnace used to heat the place. Long story short, some bastard of a basset hound we had walked by and toppled a very parts-rich bin of mine over... I shrieked like a little girl as HUNDREDS of Legos went falling through the openings. I got alot of them out, but it was too far to reach for a good deal more. And some of the parts I really liked. Stuff from older Throwbots and Roboriders sets, along with a bit of trans stuff. V__V I checked back daily at this nearby automotive store to see if they got one of those 3-pronged grabby snake tools in, but by the time they did, we'd already had to move. >__<
  22. Probably a helmet they could use again with the fangs of the mask printed on his face.
  23. ^^^ THat's a BIG thing to consider right there. Still, the extra income from this year will undoubtedly be put to good use for sets in 2006 and beyond. Really, 2006 looks pretty damned good right now. Bionicle, X-Pods, creator sets... there's a bunch of stuff I actually want coming up.
