Yay! I guess I might not have to spend a bunch of money just to get that Halloween VIP pack after all. -
Anyone else slightly disappointed in the new Venator?

Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Well I for one am curious to see all of these sets, and curious as to how the year will play out, if they'll go for a full second wave with bigger sets, or just randomly release a few more later in the year. I skipped the previous Hagrid's But, though it looked great, because I just don't have space to display it and wasn't desperate for one. I like that PoA+ hut design better than the PS/CoS one, but I'm sure they can do a good job of it. What's included sounds promising, and I do hope we get a different Hagrid print to match the scene. If we do, that could push it over the line for me, rather than trying to BL Fang. The magical creatures set also sounds interesting and I look forward to seeing what's included. As for the others, I'm unlikely to want them, but I like to see LEGO doing different locations in Hogwarts, and a small Ford Anglia set is a good idea in my opinion. -

It looks like they have now removed Pocahontas's hair piece as well, so it must have been a mistake to have hers and Aurora's on there to begin with. The only time I can recall getting CMF hairpieces on B&P was from Marvel Series 1, though all but Carter's hair ended up coming in sets later on. -

Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Well, now we know where that random new weave hairpiece in the City house set came from! It's kind of amusing how many Disney sets have this teal roof colour scheme. First Frozen, then Raya, now this. The designs do look great, which is no surprise given Marcos Bessa was involved, though they all look a bit small for their price points. The castle might have ok presence but still $100 for 613 pieces is never great to see. I'm mainly looking forward to the hairpieces on PaB eventually. -

I thought the recent entire first Infinity Saga wave for Marvel was created because other stuff had been moved around and there was a gap. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that somewhere. -

They didn't delay the Black Widow set as one data point for not delaying, but they have delayed other things tied to new properties I think (like Eternals?). -

Not sure if this will be old news to people here, but Luke's special hair from the Final Duel diorama and the Darksaber blade are both currently available on Pick a Brick, if anyone is looking for either of those parts specifically. -

It looks to me like Aurora's hair has been removed from availability, though Pocahontas' was still there last I checked. I'm very pleasantly surprised to see both the Luke hair and the darksaber blade. Ursula's hair (TLBM Joker in white) is also interesting to see given that the black version originally found in a Ninjago set (and now reappearing in Dreamzzz) hadn't been available. -

For Minifigure parts it looks like it could work out much better than PaB though. Is there a limit to Minifigures you can buy? I loved seeing this stuff on your Instagram. Never knew about it before that. -

Harry Potter has its fair share of exclusive moulds introduced every year: creatures (pixie and grindylow, Thestral and baby Thestral, spread wing owl), Minifigure parts (McGonagall hat, Sinistra hat, Pomfret hat), plus some other things like the newer broom bottom piece, the wand initially and now the new dual moulded wand, the magic blasts pack. And those are just some that come to mind introduced specifically in sets, not mentioning the special parts introduced in the two CMF series and carried over into sets. There are also plenty of printed accessories in HP like tiles and things. The only real difference compared to Star Wars in my opinion is that HP still has far fewer sets per year, and clearly has a decent budget, so perhaps we're seeing the effects of a good budget concentrated in fewer sets. -

I don't think that Gaston hairpiece is going to be real. It's like the animation team just took the current "receding hairline" part and attached a pony tail to it. -

Barely any action happens in Yoda's and Obi-Wan's houses too, besides character moments and people getting information. It's mostly just that those locations and scenes are in the OT, so people have had longer to grow fond of them. To be honest, the Dexter's Diner scene is both extremely memorable and just about the only time in the entirety of the prequels where a Jedi (besides Anakin) is shown to possibly have a life outside of Jedi-ing, which is a pretty big character moment too. I don't think it's top of LEGO's list to make for AotC either, but that's also a shame. It's a bit ridiculous that after nearly 25 years of this theme, we don't have Dexter, most of the Separatist leaders, an updated Zam (who could easily come in a very good vehicle set), and the list goes on. -

They've made huts for Like, Yoda and Obi-Wan, plus small Mos Eisley Cantinas, but people are sure a $30-40 Dex's Diner with small representative exterior, one booth, Dex, Obi and droid wouldn't sell? Attack of the Clones is just massively underrepresented in LEGO and I honestly have no hope on them ever circling back to cover the material. -

Totally agreed. I hope LEGO is smart enough to know that all of the fan fervour for a 501st Battle Pack didn't mean fans ONLY want 501st battle packs, because since 2020 the only clone ones have been 501st or 501st adjacent, while other legions are on other types of sets. I am glad for the people who either didn't get the previous set with a 332nd (which should've always included at least two of them - just one was pathetic), or wanted to army build in a cheaper and more accessible way, but for me I just have no interest coming off of the other 501st sets. Personally I'd most like to see either 327th or 21st Nova Corps. Both would look substantially different to the other available clones, and have either cool accessories pauldrons for 327th) or new moulds (Baccara's helmet at least). Though without kamas, the Nova Corps would look pretty inaccurate. -

Nope they're cheap on this with all themes. Even CMF have bad white (and sometimes yellow) on dark colour printing. That doesn't excuse it but they're uniformly atrocious! Actually LEGO used to be better on print colour and clarity in my opinion. Sure they were never perfect - some old castle figures also had white on red printing that was a bit too light for example - but it's gotten so common now that I literally expect white and sometimes yellow printed on particular colours to look horrible. There's really no excuse for it other than LEGO simply not caring. -

Plus the bat is more of a matte piece, while the helmet is glossy. -

They do? Star Wars figures are more detailed than ever. They almost always have leg prints and now arm prints are becoming more common in regular sets in Star Wars as well. What people complain about is incorrect details. The only actual lack I've seen people complain about lately is the lack of kamas, and the poor way they're represented in print instead.
