  1. My working place consists of a medium-big desk on the bedroom where I sleep, and I have a small dresser next to it on the right side, where I put my laptop when I'm building. I usually switch between building and reading/posting here and other things on the laptop. I have 3 containers similar to Doc_Brown's on my desk, where I store my parts. Currently I have my sets and MOC's on the same desk, so I have a bit too little space. I'm considering to set up a shelf above it to put the models on, to have more space to build on my desk. I don't have any pics of it, but it's an easy set-up. EDIT - I realize that I can't "show" you my working place, like the topic of the thread says
  2. I seem to have made a mistake in the building of my crane, or when mounting the superstructure to the undercarriage, cos the motor doesn't move the outriggers at all. I also seem to have missed a step in the instructions, cos I was left with a grey 5L beam that was not supposed to be among the leftovers.
  3. So, the rubber on the outside of the cables just rot? Just like that, just from being stored?
  4. This seem to be the lowest number posted on this forum for the time being. Not a bad number, that
  5. Oh, you could modify the roof above the driver seat to look torn open and get one of the large Hulk figs to put behind the wheel, that would look even better although it might be a bit too bit to fit in...
  6. Holy shit, the articulation is awesome!
  7. Is that with the boom fully extended to the upper point with the LA's fully extended? Or is it with the boom lower?
  8. Your boss allows you to build Technic sets at work? Where is this heaven?
  9. I don't have this set, so I can't say anything about the realism. I'm just saying that I think it looks realistic. In my opinion, it looks much better than the older loader with pneumatics and air tank, but I can't judge the realism as I've owned none of the sets.
  10. Yes, it contradicts with the thread topic. But frankly, I don't have enough experience with Technic sets to determine which is the most realistic in functionality. Not even for a personal view. But 8265 is great and realistic by looks Of the few sets I have tested out this year, after my dark ages, 42009 would have to be my answer. But my experience is limited.
  11. For now, pneumatic cylinders and LA's are all we have Personally, I think 8265 is one of the best-looking models TLG have ever made!
  12. And it's not life threatening or messy if it falls apart
  13. The only thing that "crew" tells me, is a bunch of people working with something. I don't know any other meaning of the word. I guess that's why I can't figure out what the set will be given that this info is 100 % real.
  14. Perhaps the safest option is to cancel your order and buy one from your local Lego store. If they still have some left, you'll be guaranteed to get one.
  15. These are the sets I'm most curious about. Twin-Rotor Helicopter --- the design and look, the colors Snowmobile --- the size, and thereby how realistic they can make it Construction Crew --- I wonder just what that would be Container Truck --- upgrade of the 8052 ?
  16. The motor featured in the 42009 set is an L-motor. That's all I can add.
  17. Wow, this is one good-looking truck. I would seriously consider building this
  18. Received a BrickLink order in the mail today which I've been waiting for.
  19. Of course. I mean the thought of getting their hobbies messed up or ruined. Not him actually doing so. It's not a question of having or not having enough. Lego, like every other hobby, costs money. And that's what it is - a hobby. If your father collected rare stamps and your mother knitted decorations, they would not like to have stamps and half-finished creations ruined by someone who thought it was "stupid hobbies". You could try to play that card to make your parents understand how you feel when your brothers ruin your Lego. And besides, ruining something that belongs to others is wrong, no matter how "childish" anyone could consider it.
  20. I don't feel it daily, but overall I'm more happy now that I'm back into Lego than I was during my dark ages
  21. You can do as Leo Crimson proposed - talk to your brothers and tell them that Lego is your hobby. Ask them how they would like it if you repeatedly ruined something they spent hours to improve.
  22. Will be interesting to see what they have in stock for next year
  23. Hello and welcome to the forums! Good to see another one back from the Dark Ages Quite a nice bunch of sets you've got yourself there. I have the 8110 Unimog U400 myself. I just built the 42009 Mobile Crane MK II this week, you don't wanna miss out on it a great set if you're looking for parts, and a nice building experience.
