  1. Nice review. I really like this little set. I tend to shy away from the mini sets, not really my thing. I actually went to Target in search of the Easter Fire Chief set, and found all of the bagged sets there. I figured I would snag one of each and give the two mini sets a try. They are really fun. I was very happy with how much detail they can fit in the little sets. I am a fan now.
  2. Add-ons would be great. As soon as I finished building mine, I sat back, looked at it and started to think of a way to expand it to be able to hold the A-wing and an X-Wing. I agree it is a little weak in the imagination department, but it has Admiral Ackbar's seat that swivels. I had not seen that before I bought the set, but it really adds something to the set. Hmmm, off to plan. Now I just need a whole bunch more of the plating with diamond holes.

    MOC: Yachts

The sail boat looks great. I really like how the sail is mostly down as in real boats. Having the sides and back SNOT is outstanding. Using the curved pieces to make the slant to the front of the boat is top rate. One other part that really stands out is the seat on the back of the cruiser. Using the tan rounds really makes it look fancy. Nice builds. Can't wait to see it all together in place. You will have to post some pics.
  4. Looks great. The designs of each have a very familiar look to really keep in line for your designs. Great build. I like that your Undersea Dragon is yellow, and really goes well with the Aquaraiders line. Now you need to do one in red with the green glass to match the Atlantis line. It would have to be skinny too. :D Deapsea Dragon? Then a bulky lime green craft with lots of greebles to make a Power Miner support craft, maybe a Power Dragon? :)
  5. What a great vehicle. I am a big fan and collector of all things rescue. This is a wonderful design. Thanks for showing us how you created the front. It is hard to figure out stuff like that at times, and it is always fun and helpful to see how others create their designs.
  6. Welcome. Your Tie-I looks great. Good use of Grey/Black. I like the use of the black vent pieces on the center of the wings. It might look really good if you were to put more pieces like that on the rest of the black part of the wings to really give it the solar panel look. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Really nicely done. I really liked looking at your Flickr page. You have such good explanations on there about what you did and what you tried. Thanks for sharing.
  8. First of all, amazing review. Great back story, wonderful pictures, and a great explanation of how it all works. This is a great set. I would love to get my hands on one. I think the best part, and the thing I noticed right away is that the cargo ship is all brick made. I think there is a place for the giant hulls so boats can float, but to have one that is all made of bricks is outstanding. Thank you for sharing.
  9. I think your speeder looks fantastic. I like seeing these built with fairly generic pieces so you could build up an army of them without having to buy a lot of specific sets. Nice work.
  10. Hmmm, maybe speeder bike racks. They can be on the wall like a bike on the wall in the garage.
  11. HAHA! Soooooo cute! I think the AT-AT is the best.
  12. Ooh, so pretty. It would not take much to update this set to fit in with the Space Police 3 sets. Blue windows already. And such nice space men too. Thanks for sharing. A blast from the past.
  13. Nice build. I really like your TATTERDEMALION. The way you used the boats and cannons looks great. I also like CALIBUS. All of the gears look fantastic.
  14. I really like the roof. What size is it going to be? Will it be able to hold 5 standard drop ships like the Lambda or are you going to make your own?
  15. Very nice work. It looks much more like an actual store than the original, though it cannot service trucks any more. Oh well. :) Having more tools for the mechanic to use is great. I might have to 'borrow' some of those ideas for my shop. Thanks for sharing. It is fun to watch it grow and change.
  16. Ooh, the back is great. What a fun surprise, since the backs tend to be not only blank, but also built out of many colors. Excellent. The details on top are excellent as well. I have seen a bit of the style of using round 1x1s to make buildings look rocky. I think it looks really good in the crumbling castle, and even better in the cottage. The use of some round and some square pieces really give an interesting look. The roof is really well done with SNOT plates and it looks like some of the boards had to be replaced. The rock cliff is top notch. The rocks are great, as they blend into the jungle/heavily planted area up-top. Very well done.
  17. I was thinking that it would not take much to have the tractor pull an Octan team race trailer as well. I really like the color scheme. The tanker is a good build. Very solid.
  18. The hauler has a good look. I like the sideways engine. It seems like many of these industrial vehicles have strange orientations of parts in order to fit certain specifications. Nice job. I think it might need some lights in the front. It may not be able to only work during the day. :)
  19. Oh, man. This is a great City. I think the best part is the continual movement and changing to make it better, bigger, and brighter. I can't wait to see more.
  20. I had to go with trucks. I am a fan of vehicles in general, but when I picked up the dump truck with it's twin trailer, it was love at first sight, and I have not looked back. Thinking about what I am looking forward to this year, I really want the new LEGO truck, and the fuel tanker. At that, I knew it was the only choice I could make.
  21. That is a well designed building. I like the roof, and especially the sign on the front of the building. Great lighting. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the next building. Maybe an onsen. Now that was the best part of my trip to Japan. :)
  22. Your new design is great. I think with the larger scale, it would fit in much better with the Family Home that is so hugely out of scale for the rest of the houses on the street. Now you are going to have to go back and double all of your other houses too. :) Nice biuld.
  23. The hanger looks great. Just enough extras to make it interesting, but not so much that it does not look like a flight hanger. With the big door, Palpatine's new ship that is coming out will look great sitting there for take off... and then we will know he is the mastermind behind the entire Clone War. Mwahahaha!!!! Really nice job!
  24. Beautiful build. The whole truck is amazing, but I think the best feature is how you work all of the switches inside the back of the truck, so they don't draw away from the scale. Good job on the build. Really nice!
  25. I love threads like this. There actually are humans on the other end of the internet (no offense to any aliens who happen to be LEGO collectors). Here I am in my early 30s, and make trips a week to TRU and the LEGO store (yup I am lucky enough to have one down the street from my house). It was not that long ago that LEGOs became something that sat in a box in my garage, all but forgotten after growing up, and out of the hobby. I slowly got into toys, as a progress from reading comics. It was about the same time I was at TRU and happened past the LEGO aisle. They had an end cap that featured some Exo-Force sets. I picked up the two smallest sets, as they were less expensive than the other sets, and had a manga style guy. They actually sat on my desk at work for a long time, maybe a year or so. I started to collect MiniMates, who attempted a Lego type design with their C3 line. Anyway, with that progression in their toys, they started to put holes in their feet that fit onto Lego studs. I wanted to make a display for them, and pulled out my box of old Legos. The display stand was all but forgotten as I started to rebuild my old sets to remember what they were like. I had to do some research on the net so I could get directions, and found so many new sets. Now it is four years later, and I have probably have nearly 500x more Legos than I ever did growing up. I have been collecting everything from City (my favorite, starting with construction, Coast Guard, and Fire) to Agents, Indy, Star Wars, Power Miners, Space Police, and Atlantis. My house now looks like a toy store, with primary colors exploding from every pore. I would not change it for anything. Happiness abounds, and getting to come to a site like this and see what kinds of great imaginative things people are coming up with is an added bonus.
