Shut. Up. Computer. Why does anybody trust Riker, exactly?
-
What questions would you be expecting?
-
I don't disagree. I realize it could look this way, but I am Town so this would be a nightmare position for me and I truly do not want it. I knew as I was posting it, it could be read this way, but I have to take the risk because this needs to be addressed for us to get the clearest path to a Town victory. Dear Lord, if this ends up being the plan, Wesley, Forg, then me, for God's sake just put me first. If those two are both Town, I similarly would hate to either choose between you and Riker. I wouldn't mind defending myself on a Day Six but if I'm one of three remaining players on a potential Day Six and I get lynched, the Town loses. I'm the only one who knows that for sure, but we would lose. Can't somebody act blatantly Scummy, please? Whoever the remaining Scum is, you're doing an amazing job right now. Everybody is acting like Townies. And yet, I could conceivably see any of you as Scum. I am simply proposing to everyone that we create a plan to move forward and get all of these questions answered. The vote is currently split three ways with Picard and I currently withholding our votes. You've basically left it up to Picard and I to choose the best path forward and I doubt Picard is going to vote for himself. Wait, no, he's offered that several times. So, in what order do we want our suspicions answered? I guess it's silly to ask this when nobody's suspicions seem to line up. I'm trying to strategize so that we're all on the same page and have the best chance of beating the Scum. If I end up as today or tomorrow's lynch, fine. The Town would still have a chance, but if I get lynched on Day Six, the Town loses. Period. End of story. @Fugazi Please explain why I would be your next candidate if Wesley flips Town.
-
1000 times this. No more suicides! Sorry. I had to scroll down past a lot of text and I was like "Who is posting so much?" Spoiler alert: It was me.

This is the Scummiest thing you've said so far. People have to present a case to you? On Day One, you made a case for every player. You have no ability to look at every player's actions yourself? Wesley, it's not that I don't think it's possible that you're Town, it's that every solid argument you give can be seen either way. I trust you would be this skilled and determined to defend yourself, either way. You're one of the smartest players to play this game and I've been convinced enough that you're Town that I've switched my vote twice. Unfortunately, due to this setup, these questions still remain and it's the strongest case we've seen against anyone, in my opinion. Again, aren't you too smart to put yourself in that position if you were Scum? Probably! But, also, wouldn't it be worth the attempt, on Day One, to avoid a Scum buddy's lynch when nobody would be able to catch you with Night Actions and be sure of the perceived connection? Gaaar! Let's lynch me. I don't want to try to figure out who to vote for today. It's giving me a headache. Forg, Wesley, isn't it possible all three of us are Town and either Riker or Picard are like at us for continuously getting ourselves into a Mexican standoff? For Forg to be Scum, he'd have to have the knowledge of foresight to put himself in the best position by being the first to make a case against Beverly and vote for her. Perhaps, he noted all the Scummy things that Beverly was doing and found it best to set himself apart, assuming she would eventually be caught either way. Diabolical, yes. Occam's Razor has kept me from even considering this as a possibility but he has come in, day after day, and continued on Wesley without genuine concern for any other player. Except for me...because I'm inherently evil? Yeah, let's hear this. What else about me concerns you, Forg? Since I seem to be the only other one you have concerns about. For Wesley to be Scum, he'd have to have known defending Beverly was a risk and taken that risk to put himself in the worst position for the rest of the game. Would he take this risk? Would this format, that I don't believe he's played before, be enough to throw off his typical careful gameplay and take the risk to save his Scum buddy from a Day One lynch? I have zero clarity right now, on any of you. This is so frustrating. I can come to zero conclusions. I want to know what Wesley is already. Unfortunately, we're getting dangerously close to losing if we keep having to test people by lynching them. Is this the last chance to get the clarity regarding Wesley? If we lynch him today and he is Town, what does tomorrow look like? Do we lynch Forg, which none of us seem willing to do? Do we lynch me? I'd be happy to finally be out of the game, but there would definitely be a Day Six after that. What's the best path forward. If we're wrong about our current suspicions, who do you want around on Day Six in a two-one situation, figuring out who the Scum are? Do we vote Picard today and Riker tomorrow and leave the three of us bumblenuts to continue this same argument for another freaking day with the crux of the entire game as the result of what conclusion we would come to? Riker, Picard, apologies. All I mean is that if we're going to go the route of considering that Wesley, Forg and I are all Town and arguing past each other for days, the two of you are the only ones left to vote for and both of your games can be seen as flying under the radar. Riker more than Picard as Picard made some big moves at the end of yesterday, which I don't necessarily see as Town, but Occam's Razor-were Town moves. So, I would say, in this scenario Riker should go first. Then Picard. If you're both Town, I'd kill myself as I don't want a Day Six with me in this same fucking boat having to choose between Forg and Wesley. Am I asking you to agree to a strategy where we lynch you? I guess I am. But I can't be. Wait, what am I saying any more? Oh, that's right. My point to everyone is, do we want it to go down like that or do we put on our big-girl pants and answer the question that seems to have dogged this entire game? So far, neither Riker nor Picard seem to want to go this route. You know what, this was going to be a quick post, but a question has just arose for me, for Picard. You said you'd vote for Wesley or Forg today. You have your word to St. Data. However, you've voted for neither. You claim to have interceded for Wesley yesterday and yet your words to St. Data at the end of the day were that you'd be the first to vote for him. So, which was it? Were you interceding for Wesley? Or did you believe Wesley had to be Scum if Data was Town, because that's what you made it sound like yesterday. You haven't voiced an opinion on Forg except that he wasn't immediately here when today started. So, who is the Scummiest to you? Forg? Me? Riker? Obviously, you seem to think Wesley's your good buddy despite claiming to want to lynch him if St. Data came up as Town. I need a nap and then I'll go dig through everything Riker has done throughout this game. We cross-posted. This does make sense, I suppose, as it's basically the same plan I've laid out. I am curious, though, why me? I would say I haven't had much scrutiny in this game but let's have it now before a plan like this goes into play. Because I am Town and you and Wesley are both lynched and you're both Town, putting me next would definitely end up with a Town loss. If this is going to be a plan, let's lay it out now why I would be third in line.
-
What and what? I'm not sure a vote and un-vote is keeping your word. That's just odd to me. I'm trying not to dwell on it, but it's keeping my suspicion roiling. Throwing the option of your own lynch out there isn't a Town-tell in my book. It's a classic WIFOM strategy, "go ahead and lynch me then." Nothing you've listed for me is a change in behavior. I've told you all why I might be Scum and I've certainly said "If I was Scum" since Day One. Forg has hardly been MIA, he's been active throughout this entire game, what's your opinion on his actions? What is this second post, at all? I cannot wrap my brain around it. Who would Scum kill if they had the chance, if each of us was Scum? We'd all want to kill you? Why would Wesley not want to kill Forg for being too high profile but I'd just go zap him? Does high profile mean the relationship between the two players is too high profile? None of this rings true and I'm struggling to see the utility of it. And spelling it all out in this way would just give the Scum potential WIFOM for killing whoever they wanted and also a map for who would likely take the blame if a certain player was killed. Also, if you are Town, it gives them a great excuse to just kill you and keep everyone confused. This game is driving me batshit crazy.

OK, fine. Let's take a closer look at what transpired on Day Two. If you don't like what I have to say...um, don't vote me out? Because that's not how it works. It's not "I disagree with your thinking, I'm going to vote for you." It's "I find your words and actions Scummy." So Wesley's entire diatribe of "If you don't like it, vote for me" is adding to my uneasiness of him continuously avoiding the lynch. Wesley defending his mother more times than just refusing to join the bandwagon that had formed against her. Here's the first one: Um...no? In a post where I am actually pointing the finger at Kyle and Picard, Why does Wesley react to this? I'm asking about the mechanics of the game and demonstrating the if we play like mostlytechnic did in Thack Desteck, the Scum will get to kill us at night. I'm not blaming mostlytechnic for spreading out the vote in this post, I'm simply pointing out that mostlytechnic liked this strategy in the last game. I'm warning against being like mostlytechnic, the Town player, not accusing mostlytechnic of trying to garner a kill for the Scum. I'm warning the Town to not use the Town-tactic that Town-mostlytechnic used in the last game. So, who am I metagaming? The game itself? Am I metagaming a game? Beverly sees it as a defense but Wesley is quick to distance himself, then mumbles something about a reaction to me. For why??? Why react to me trying to convince the Town not to spread the vote out? So, she "defends" Mom since I mentioned her name and now is casting suspicion on me. And does she vote for me? Nope. But she, later, votes for Picard for casting suspicion on me, but not voting, despite that being the thing she just did. And what is in that snipped part? Another defense of Mom. This can, of course, be seen two ways: 1, as he has said, he understood it was a joke and therefore a bad reason to vote for his Mom. But, also, another defense. How would he know this was a joke when people were reacting to it, already, as a Scummy post. Forg and I had already voted for Beverly and Beverly hadn't been there yet to clarify her statement as a joke. I still don't get the joke. I can, now, see it as sarcasm in that he was explaining that his first statement regarding Picard not being Scum because he's the captain as a joke, but the declaration of deliberate bad logic pinged me and Forg, clearly, yet Wesley was able to see it as a joke. And swooped in to do so. And then continued to distance himself from Mom, two sentences away. And while I'm at it, what was with that sentence in the middle regarding Beverly's claim of not understanding the rules regarding the voting to extend the day. "It wasn't just Geordi who thought that." And??? Why is that pinging me? Back to the non-defense defense followed by a declaration of non-defense for the previous defense. Maybe I'm trying to shove a square peg into a round hole here, but I'm trying to put myself in Scum Perspective and see how they would both, assuming Wesley is Scum, think that we should all have seen Beverly's statement as inocuous. In the mean time, here's Forg's case against Beverly: This is not, as Wesley claims, just a first vote to, potentially-assuming Forg is Scum, make him look more Townie later as the first vote against Beverly, or distancing himself from her by voting for her at all. This is a case against Beverly. It's one thing for Scum to vote for a Scum buddy to create distance, but to actually pick apart Beverly's contributions at that point and spell out a clear case against her is a huge risk. He doesn't just say "I get a crazy Scummy feeling from this statement, can you clarify?" He goes through the rest of Beverly's posts and finds other Scum-tells and points them out to all of us. Yes, he's capable of running this as a winning Scum gambit, yes. Genius Forg. But, Occam's Razor, let's look at all of these interactions from Day One together and look at it as Wesley is insisting we do, Wesley vs. Forg. What does it look like to everyone else? Of course, this is what Data's intentions were, but how can you be so sure about Picard? I wish I had the luxury of putting anybody in the definite Town category. I believe Picard was also around after Data voted for himself and had the option, as I did, of un-voting Data to keep a Townie. I've explained why I didn't try to save Data despite having the opportunity. Did Picard have the same option and if so, why didn't he take the opportunity? Wouldn't a "real Townie" have this question of both of us? Picard also had the easier option of voting for you to avoid the Scum getting a night kill. You voted against Picard for his actions on Day One and now he's a definite Townie, in your eyes. The player may have changed but the role didn't. Couldn't the change in behavior be chalked up to a player with more time to dedicate to a Scum tactic? We have evidence from Picard's posts yesterday that he did suspect you, making you a viable candidate for his vote. He could've just hammered you. I don't chalk it up to being a Townie that he decided not to. If he's the Scum and you're Town, keeping you around would keep scrutiny off of him as two vocal and active players have been building a case against you for days now. I do not trust Picard based on anything he did yesterday. If you don't like that...then, don't like it. Again, a difference in perspective or opinion isn't a sign of Scumminess. "If I can convince you all to lynch Forg, I know he'll flip Town, so I'd better start planting the seeds for a Deanna lynch..."
-
Ugh, the more I read Wesley and Riker's posts, the more confused I get about the best path forward. I need more cheeseburgers and a nap.
-
Things that make you go Hmmmm... So, why was Forg the first vote on Beverly? WIFOM? Yesterday's actions, even those at the end of the day, made me continue to suspect Picard, even with the personality-ectomy. He had the opportunity to achieve a lynch with Wesley. He pushed the Data lynch and even suggested that Data should vote himself out. This can be seen as attempting to not lynch. Why would Data vote for himself if he was Town? I'm seriously considering making a rule against self-voting in my next game. Ugh. Ugh, ugh, ugh. I've got a non-peaceful, uneasy feeling. I had the capability to un-vote Data after his "saint-hood" but I also (needed bacon cheeseburger) thought it would be a diabolical and risky move for him to make, and would chalk him up to taking such a risk, if he were Scum trying to convince us he was Town. I'm getting the same sinking feeling that I got the first time around with this setup. I was kind of hoping the Scum would get a kill. I'd be more inclined to believe Forg was Scum if they didn't kill him and was kind of hoping I would be put out of my misery... The end to Day Three was bonkers. I'm not sure I see Data's move as sainthood-worthy and Wesley's proclamation thereof feels off to me. Wesley's entire post seems off to me. And I've had two bacon double cheeseburgers, lots of fries, and two whiskeys and a long sleep so I'm seeing more clearly now. I'm curious, Wesley, why the line in the sand today? Why is it either you or Forg? I don't understand the sudden, definitive stance, solely based on the fact that he's been pursuing your lynch. This is Forg-y to me. He insisted on lynching The Traveler in the last game, due to unknowns. He's a smart, effective player, yet stubborn. He wants to be sure of things and there remain questions swirling around you, so pursuing your lynch is a logical course of action to take. I'm not doing so, only because I hate lynching someone without concrete evidence, because I don't want to hurt other people's feelings. I flail like a fish out of water. I'm curious to hear how everyone else...who else is left???...feels about this.

Vote: Extend the day
-
The day's over. Shut your mouth.
-
What the fuck is happening?
-
Okedokee. Unvote: Wesley Crusher (Pandora) Vote: Data (Trekkie99)
-
Furthermore, Data just sucks. Hardcore. This is either the worst Town game he's played in recent member or his cookie cutter Scum game. I'd almost rather just lynch Wesley would be painful because I just don't want to and the idea that he's Scum is fleeting faster and faster. However, I'd rather choose who gets lynched than let Data Scum choose who to kill. Mostly because, we won't get the awesome immediate turnaround we've been getting from the computer and therefore no immediate satisfaction of getting our result and moving on with the next Day. Unless Wesley is Scum, yada yada. But also leaving the death count in our control is our strongest tool. Why'd we extend the day if those who voted for it didn't utilize it?? Farg farg farg. Fuck. There's like 15 minutes left. What kind of response is this for a Townie or even a Trekkie? This is your response to all the questions raised towards you and us scrambling to get you lynched? Laughing at the member of our crew with the current highest vote count for voting for you?? You're suggesting he should keep his vote on Picard to save himself and you have no opinion of that lynch? Either Wesley or Picard is fine as long it's not you, because all you need is for any Townie to die. Should we kill Wesley to not let Data Scum kill one of us? I mean, he just told us he was going to kill Forg. I. Need. A. Bacon. Cheeseburger. Lots. Of. Fries. And. At. Least. Two. Whiskeys.
-
Here's the biggest crux for me. Wesley is too smart to associate himself so strongly with someone he knows would flip Scum, if lynched. Perhaps the reason I'm saying it still needs to be tested is because it might be what I would've done if I were Beverly's Scum buddy-try to save her. But, that's because I'm impatient and hasty and emotional. Wesley is not. He's patient and calculated and I am close to going as far to say that he would never ever ever ever put himself in this position if he was Scum. He'd probably glom onto the Beverly vote and if she got lynched, ride out the rest of the game seeming cool, collected, logical, fine white Italian wine fueled and cruise to a victory. It just doesn't ring true to me that he would choose, instead, to just paint the biggest target on himself, knowing there was enough time left to ... fuck... gotta run.
-
Ugh, I feel like I will do it, if they are around. @Lind Whisperer you feel better about the Data lynch than the Wesley lynch?
-
I hate to say this, but Data seems so Scummy and Wesley is such a good player and it's all making me pretty confused and frustrated (plus, I've been in the hospital for the past 15 hours–not for me, and the person I am here for is going to be OK...) and I'm hungry and tired and I'm getting a headache and I'm being dramatic...I kind of just want the Scum to have a night kill. Let them remove someone from our list of suspicions. Wait, that's nuts. I need a granola bar or something. My gut feeling is to un-lynch Wesley and go for Data. If we're wrong, we're just stuck back on Wesley, though. This game is difficult when all your mental resources are depleted. Someone give me a back cheeseburger and some whiskey, please! Where was I? Who is that? Dad? Um...right. Un-lynch Wesley, why not? Because...it's going to suck to spend another day arguing with Wesley about why he's not Scummy but lynching him anyways. What am I talking about? Can I get a replacement, please? Data is Scummier, Wesley is the better player. But, Occam's Razor, when two people appear to be going at each other and arguing publicly, they're typically both Town. But Wesley and I might be going at each other in private if we could PM. That's not true either, though! I would never allow myself to have a private conversation with Wesley if I thought he was Scum and vice-versa. Hmmmm... I guess my desire to just let the Scum have a night kill is a desire to lynch stupid Data. Hey, my gut sucks, though! I can get really clever with evidence and strategy but I have the worst gut out of any of us. Because I play with my feelings, not my gut. So my feelings are to un-lynch Wesley. I feel like I'm high, I don't have the energy to edit this post to something coherent. We have like a fucking hour left. Do we even have the people around to spare Wesley, yet again, and lynch Data? And should we??? Where's my cheeseburger? Fuck the cheeseburger, I'll just take the whiskey and mass amounts thereof. Or at least two. What am I talking about????
-
So, the new Picard suspects himself?
-
Who the fuck are you?
-
I'm just trying to play the game. I'm not really hurt. I am desperately confused and I kinda want to un-vote but I don't want the Scum to have a night kill and I'm helping to dismantle a gym right now and I hate posting from my phone. How much freakin' time do we have left??? Are they?? F-word. I don't like that. Anonymous game please!!! How much time do we have left??? I just don't know that the case against Picard is as strong as that against Wesley, whatever that means because they're both weak! I understand Wesley's fight from either side, Scum or Town. Can I get a Jiminy Cricket please????
-
Oh, there was only one left. Wesley @Pandora This is a rough one for me. Would Wesley put himself in a position on Day One to seem so Scummy? Would he step in to "defend" his scum buddy in a game with no Night Actions and where our words and actions glean more scrutiny. I recognize the "sticky tape, fine Italian white wine and hope" and I do think it's par for the course for this particular teenage boy. He's also Welsey Crusher and would we be doing the Next Generation a disservice by not lynching him?? Part of why I switched my vote yesterday was because I can't imagine him putting himself in that position and rather believe he would have voted for Beverly, counting it as a first-day loss, and putting him in a better position to avoid detection. That being said, the question will always be there until either we lynch him or we get to the end of the game, at which point he could be the last one standing, letting Q win his devious little game. While I recognize the sticky tape, fine Italian white wine and hope, a part of me does recognize what Picard was referring to. Welsey's first defense on Day Two was rather passive, and as previously stated, lacked a significant amount of suspicion towards me, which is off for Wesley's typical Town game. He has seemed more aggressive since which seems more like Town-Wesley to me, but he's an amazing Mafia player and could have recognized he needed to line up more with his previous games and change his tone. I just don't freaking know! I mean, that's the point of the game, we're not supposed to know. I also probably would've un-voted Beverly had the day been more sober longer. Our only tool here is our vote. We can't just sit back and let the Scum get night kills. I'm still curious as to why Forg played the day the way he did, choosing to vote last and remaining relatively quiet. But, Wesley is in a position where we have many questions lingering over his actions. If we don't get an answer to the questions about his behavior, and the only way to do so is to vote him out, we will continue to wonder/be distracted by the case. If he's Scum, he's proven he has the ability to convince us to let him slid by. If he's Town, the Scum will continue to try and distract us or just let us be distracted by our suspicions of him.
-
I'm going to pull a Forg here and go through everybody and what we know about them. Picard @Kristel Flying under the radar, with real life as an excuse, but not contributing too much but following whatever bandwagon is in motion once he does have time to drop by. Riker @Darkdragon Potentially diabolical here. If he's Scum, Beverly would've had to have tried to bus her on Day One. If he knew Riker was Scum and not showing up and likely to become some sort of fodder (he seemed convinced he would be mod-killed) and know he would flip Scum, perhaps a way to protect himself for the rest of the game by being the first to vote for him. Occam's Razor says this is too complicated and we should, traditionally, believe that it was a safe vote for Beverly. But, if he was being diabolical, this would've been a great move. And now we have Riker who seems trustworthy and active. He could be running with this advantage if it exists and cruising towards a win, with little scrutiny being applied to him. I realize Wesley also made this case. And since my vote is on Wesley, due to my worries over his Day One actions, this could be a desperate case being made to put attention on anyone else and avoid today's lynch. Data @Trekkie99 is way off, in my opinion in this game. As I've previously stated, my worries revolve around his lack of activity or serious contribution. In response to my previous concerns, he posted more about Picard. I think we have all seen how he behaves when he's Town, at least with the most recent example of Thack Desteck, and this is a very different game for him. I also remember KotZ's visitor game where we also saw a different Data. This reminds me more of the Ham Sandwich Data we saw in The Forest III. Metagame. Metagame. Metagame. Even regardless of the comparison of behaviors, he is flying under the radar and not making significant contributions to the Scum hunt. Deanna (That's me!) I'm always Scum, even when I'm Town so even those who trust me but me at 51% Town at the highest. I'm likely to be lynched at some point if we don't end this soon. I'm just that devious. Forg @Fugazi The Scummiest he's been all game is today. Wesley's right, he is in the best position to walk away with this and he's one of the smartest people in the history of Mafia. Here's true potential diabolical-ness. Which is a word? This would have to be major WIFOM and Occam's Razor keeps me away from serious consideration of it right now. My concern today, is that he sat around and waited for everybody else to vote and then seems to have voted Wesley only to avoid a Scum night-kill. Yesterday, he was pointing the finger at me if Kyle flipped Town, which he did. And yet, he hasn't voiced any suspicion towards me. Why the change in behavior today? Went from active to passive. I have to go to the gym, which is not a code name for bar. I'm actually going to the gym. I'll do the rest when I get back.
-
Judging by voting position and activity level, I still suspect Data. With one exception. He placed the fourth vote on Beverly on Day One. This put her within one vote of the hammer. I'm not sure Scum would take that risk on Day One, but it could also pay off in the long run as it doesn't necessarily look Scummy. But we're not getting much from Data and this isn't something I'm used to from his. Judging by post counts from recent endeavors. Yesterday and today, he's jumped on second and third to the bandwagons, without much input. Picard is in the same transport. While he cited today that he's been busy, his contributions have been short and far between and not as fully thought out as we have come to expect from him. The vote tally today seems like Beverly is still in the game. We're stalled, nobody wants to extend the day. I think there's quite a lot to discuss. Let's go. What are people doing? Or would you prefer the Scum get a kill tonight. Do we really want to play without Forg, because you know damn well that's who they'd kill.
-
Don't you look down your double-nostril nose at us, Forg. You said you loved the case against Geordi, you said you would marry it if you could. Those were your exact words, or something very similar to that, or otherwise not at all. But, regardless of what order we did it in, Geordi and Wesley are both the Scummiest so far. If Wesley is Scum then he is better at pretending to be Town than Geordi is, even when he doesn't need to pretend. Sorry, Geordi, it's true. I really thought we were on to something when Geordi appeared to give up at the end of the day. Never give up! That's not how you help the Town. Even if you don't successfully avoid the lynch, we can look at what you say and know that it was all true (albeit Scummy and bonkers in some instances) and have that to work off of the next day. Giving up as a Townie sucks Forg balls. I could log in as Bob.
