It's not. Key words: "had the right". This is another thing that became misconstrued. No different than a bachelor auction. Or escorting. Also here is something to know: Prostitution is illegal. Escort services are not. And mizuage isn't done anymore because of the connections you keep bringing up. And geisha are still around. And I don't think Lego would care if they made a geisha fig or not. I, like every other person, consider the Kimono Girl a Geisha. I like how you told us that the Kimono Girl wears a kimono. -Omi
-
Just like you assumed that geisha sold themselves without actually looking into further and going by misconceptions? Just sayin bro. -Omi
-
No, she is about Japanese tradition, as she writes haikus because as Lego puts it "The Kimono Girl’s most favorite tradition of all is haiku poetry. " Meaning she has other traditional interests. And the implication is there. And geisha keep tradition with their trade. -Omi

Dictionaries always include misconceptions, and misusage of terms. When I say companion for men, the examples I gave were example of what being a companion was. Anyways geisha are not and never were prostitutes. They were paid to sing and dance, but not for sex. And I'm sure Lego would have called the Kimono Girl a Geisha, but I'm sure they are just being clever with words, like calling the Native American/Indian figs Tribal Hunter and Tribal Chief, or the Statue of Liberty fig being called Lady Liberty, or Red Riding Hood being called Grandma Visitor. -Omi

Companion moreso in terms of hanging with the guy. I guess the kinda correct term would be escort, but not the sexual connotation of that word. Geisha can accompany you to theaters, restuarants, sporting events, etc. They are just for entertainment. It's a slippery slope, and most people often do confuse them with being a common whore. :/ -Omi
-
Not even. :/ Geisha were merely performers, but never prostitutes. The Memoirs of a Geisha movie even brings out that misconception with the whole "eel and cave" crap, which is was never true. But it did highlight the fact that during WWII, prostitutes did try to look like geisha, but never were geisha. The only sexual thing they could be accused of would be mild flirting. After all, they did dance and sing for drunk businessmen. -Omi

Neither does a geisha. Lego's description matches what a geisha does. -Omi

I dunno why you would even call that luck. I've been a supporter of this long before it was even up on Cuusoo. I helped inspire the creator, and he had fun creating all assorted items (and even various other ones from games), and you're putting down the project that he has actually worked hard on. You may not think it, but he put time and money into this project and even updated it throughout the time it was on Cuusoo with the input from the fans. And you're questioning the votes he received and saying he didn't earn them, as opposed to someone else who just builds a moc and says "here you go, please vote for it", without updating it or making a few changes based on input? And the fun is the excitement it brought to the fans and to customizors. And the excitement of the possible chance it has to becoming real. And you are being a debbie downer about it. You're doubting its votes and your doubting the fanbase and even lowering its numbers. If you want something like the Western modular to become real, you should advertise it, instead of complaining that it lost out like everyone else. It didn't lose out to anything, it's still in the race. You have to be the one to help get it to the finish line. If you complain about it, you pretty much just gave up on the project itself. Same with every other project on Cuusoo. -Omi

Some people who aren't into Lego actually buy Lego. Because it appeals to them in certain ways. This set can do that. And if Lego doesn't make what they like, I make it for them. I have made Lego stuff for friends several times in the past. So stop being a debbie downer on the whole thing, because it just ruins the whole fun of it. -Omi
-
Again you're doubting the fanbase. Most Zelda fans that I have spoken too, which is somewhere in the hundreds, have said they would buy it if it happens. This has been on many wishlists for a long time. -Omi

No. But this is: "I don't want that! All I want is" -Omi

Is Cuusoo too easily taken over by Rabid Fandoms?

I get you man. -Omi -

But look at it from the view that Lego gave for some: For BttF, the 30th anny is right around the corner, and a commemorative set is nice. For Zelda, while we just missed the 25th anny, we still have games to feed off of (Skyward Sword and Ocarina 3DS), not to mention it was made clear that the theme is popular and well known. We don't have many video game licenses. In fact we have -none-. Minecraft is the first, legit video game license Lego has done, and I am happy that two other games have the possible chance of being made. Why can't we have them? Everyone on here wants Star Wars, LoTR, Indiana Jones, Marvel and DC, etc, and when they get them. And when they get their wishes, they aren't satisfied and want more of what they want, and less of what others want. -Omi -
Star Wars isn't classified as a Space theme in Lego, and it is it's own seperate theme. We have had at least 4 Space themes during the run of Star Wars. -Omi

The only licensed theme to successfully get the 10K votes as well as become a set is the Minecraft set. The other 2 models are not licenses. That is 2 out of 3. -Omi -
That's kinda childish don't you think? -Omi

Are People using fake accounts on Cuusoo to Support?
Omicron replied to Meatman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Plus you need to consider the theme of venues these can be advertised on. Compare the Western Modular with the Zelda project. The Western Modular is limited to where it can get news (in this case just a few Lego fansites). With the Zelda one, it can be posted anywhere. In the last week it was posted in the Wii section of IGN. That is second best than the main Nintendo site. That is great coverage and helped get the last few thousand votes in. Also: I find it very laughable and somewhat rather insulting that you believe the strong, core fanbase only consists of a few thousand people. You should reconsider the numbers here. Because to be frank, there are still thousands of people are there who haven't and want to cast their votes in for that project. -Omi -

That cuz, as Aanchir pointed out, it gets the support from a bigger supporter, and influx of support is common. -Omi -

Zelda gained a lot of votes when it was posted on Kotaku, Silconera, and IGN. Not to mention the other Zelda fansites and nerdy sites. You can gain 10,000 votes legitimately just from the first 3 sites alone. Plus I been advertising it myself through my flickr, Twitter, and Facebook, which garnered several votes each. I think you're just doubting the fanbase. -Omi -
I like both equally, as they both bring different elements to the Fantasy genre. Castle actually brings castles, villages, and factions while LoTR brings more of the fantasy elements in that were brought in earlier years ago. Personally though, I'd like something new, Like Greek, Roman, Nordic, etc. -Omi

Lego CUUSOO Legend of Zelda Achieved at 6:05 AM today!
Omicron replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
No, Mario Kart is. I don't see Zelda K'nex. Do you? :P Not to mention Mega Blox makes Pokemon too. So Nintendo is everywhere. -Omi -
Lurtz is brown because he is covered in mud when he is born. -Omi

Says who? Stores usually push aside regular themes to make room for license themes. He should get Monster Hunters first. -Omi

Always wash with hot water after every use. Rids the build up. :) -Omi
