  1. Like the others, I like that you created all four elementals. The water shooting out of the sand is cool, and I like how the air elemental is spinning people around. Nice job!
  2. R6-EB (or R6-EBst as he likes to refer to himself) is the hippest Astromech in all of corridor K, especially hipper than R6-Y0 over in branch K33 who has the most dull circuits that never fluctuate or reverberate, which may lead to the highest efficiency ratings on the corridor, but makes for the lamest astromech duty on the whole sublevel! R6-EB(st) has been in corridor K since DS-1 became operational, and knows this branch like the data coding of his main processor and all his 'mechs love him. R6 (EBst) has led the branch 10-14 fusion league every season (except for two season, but one season his processor had a faulty capacitor, and the other season the R4 units in K13 were playing dirty) and he is the reigning champion, as demonstrated by the league trophy. Prior to his post on the DS-1, R6 (EBst) was stationed on Naboo for a few cycles, where he picked up some sweet art at the data fair he attended (the reboot seminars were a total drag, and he ditched before they even gave out the upgrades, but he met a hot R5 unit who's going to be comming him any cycle now. R6 (EBst) has been doing holo-research on the new R9 series, but not for personal reasons, just so he can be totally prepared in case they decide to station one in the corridor and he can totally give her all the data modules she needs and show her to all the scomp links - He just likes to look out for the new 'mechs in the corridor (but not the R2's or the R4's or the R3's really - they're so old, although he's seen a few nice new R8 models around) Yep, R6 (EBst) has a pretty sweet gig here, and wouldn't give it up for all the credits in the galaxy... unless of course K10 or K15 opened up, he's totally ready to move up the circuit, just like he was the last time K10 opened up, but he wasn't ready to leave K12 yet anyway - he wouldn't want to leave his 'mechs behind. P.S. Can one of the regs/admins please change the title of this to incorporate "Astromech Workplace Contest" for me please? Thanks.
  3. This is a great entry! I like the dragon, with all the flames as well as the burning building and the use of the flesh bricks. This struck me immediately as being very Kaliphlin-esqe and I love your variety of citizenry. Excellent job!
  4. Boy, is my face red! Yes, Rob never disappoints.
  5. I like that the first scene is one of panic which sets the scene for the build. I also like all the activity going on in the fight/ flight of the citizens. Nice job!
  6. You never dissapoint, both in the quality of your builds, and the "how in the world did he come up with that?" factor. Completely unique, and very well done interpretation of the painting. As always, your story is excellent. Very impressive!
  7. Thanks Kayne! I thought it would be interesting to use the microscale below instead of behind, and I am very happy with the results. Z - that is exactly what I was woried about. I interpreted the destruction to be ruining the tavern, so half of the stuff has blown away, and other things have been mangled by the winds so it's hard to tell what is what - just like it would be after a real tornado. Once I have posted the pre-destruction pictures it will make much more sense, but I can't post those until after the challenge since it's a one-scene contest. This was the reason I considered not using this build for this challenge, but I really liked the microscale concept. Soccerkid - the cyclone started off very blocky, but as I kept adding and adding to it I started getting more of a spiral form to it and I'm really pleased with it now.
  8. Raex Kilfana was a great adventurer who traveled to many lands and discovered wonders and a wealth of treasure. Deep in the deserts of Kaliphlin, Raex found a magic carpet that could perform many wonders, not the least of which was flight. Raex had always marveled at the magical islands that float above the Mystic Isles. With his carpet, he was able to travel up to them, and he claimed one of the islands as his own. He build a small stone outpost to keep his valuable treasures safe from thieves and rogues. Eventually he retired from adventuring, and took up residence on his island in the sky. He built it up over the years, and installed a windmill to harness the great winds that soar through the Avalonian skies, as well as a a common area on the roof so that he could run a small tavern to while away his twilight years. He was able to capture rainwater, and sustain a couple gardens of sturdier plants. The island was modest in size, and inevitably Raex ran out of room. He harnessed another small isle and secured it with great chains and used it as a landing for patrons of his small tavern. Raex lived many years ago, and he named his island Kilfana's Roost. It was passed down through the generations, to his current descendant, Laress Kilfana. With the help of her husband Dorain, the tavern has flourished, with many airborne patrons. Kilfana's Island was not safe from the rampage of the elementals for the skies are home to wind elementals. Although there have been many a storm to harry the Isle, none was anything like the Cyclone they saw that day. The winds grew violent as the cyclone arrived, and scoured across the island in great sheets of white turbulence The smaller island was sheared off by the force of the wind, and the bridge and chains that had connected them were tossed about like leaves in autumn. The tavern had been half full, but as luck would have it, the great Mage Lord Mirsk, the Sand Dervish, happened to be enjoying a cup of ale when the elemental hit! Using his great powers, Lord Mirsk was able to summon up a cone of pure energy to protect him with gales that buffeted him, so that they would not toss him about as they had the batfolk. The elemental wreaked great havoc upon the island, but luckily it has stayed aloft, high above the Mystic Isles. This started out as a free build, which I converted into an entry for this challenge, since I thought the microbuild part of it would work very well. I apologize if it is hard to make out what is what, but I will be posting the "pre-destruction" pictures once the contest is complete. I hope you enjoy.
  9. Stunning! This may be my favorite entry for this challenge! Mitgardia has sure lucked out! Your elemental is enormous, and very well done, as is the water and the waves crashing on the shore. The outpost is excellent as well! I love the architecture (it does looks elvish, and sand green is Avalonia's color, but it's still beautiful!) and I love how the whole fron of the entry is crashing off. This is simply superb! Welcome to GoH!
  10. This is an awesome build! I love the fact that it is all microscale, and I think you've done a great job creating the water. I agree that the use of the flippers for the ship is a great idea and works well. I love the elemental rising out of the water too. This is a great entry, as all of yours have been.
  11. Very good entry here! I really like the sept itself, especially the tower on the top. I also really like your microbuild, and I think it works great here (I like how it is all snow, instead of a mix). I like the action of the villagers coming to the defense, and I love the villager that has been frozen to the ground. Nice job!
  12. Very nice entry! I love the way the dragon's breath is freezing people and sealing the entrance. Your microbuild is awesome too (once I figured out what it was ) Your walls and the border of your MOC are well done, and I like the crossbows. Great job!
  13. Excellent entry! I like the people lined up to fight the elemental, and the use of the green heads. As others have said, the boy throwing the water on the fire is just brilliant, as is your microbuild - It looks amazing. Great job!
  14. I really like the mountain range with the volcano. Interesting to just create an entire microbuild entry. Good work!
  15. Nice entry for Avalonia! I love the incorporation of Quinn, and the piece usage for the vines. They look great! I too like the dark blue and the brown house. Excellent work!
  16. This is fantastic! The tower is excellent, especially the top tier, the cove is great with the jetties extending out, and the microbuild works very well from the right perspective. The elemental is excellent as well, and I like how he's shooting the water across. I also like all the activity going on ashore. Great work!
  17. It's got moving parts! What more is there to say? I really like your elemental. I think the head and the body are well done, and I love the way he is shooting the vines into the ground. The building are great, as always, and I love the way the vines are attacking everyone. You've done a great job of showing action with the vines (and....of course the actual action in the video). This is beautiful, and it will be hard to beat. Using the dungeons and dragons logic, I would say that neither earth nor water elementals would control plants, but I think it makes more sense to say there is a plant essence to the earth elemental, which would explain the plant control. I don't think the water elemental makes any logical sense in the standard fantasy setting. (of course I don't watch Avatar)
  18. Great entry for Mitgardia! I really like the ice walls and the tower with the beacon. I agree that you've done a great job of creating a sense of panic, and all of your different shots really help convey that. Excellent work!
  19. Nice entry! I like how you can see the men in the boats struggling to stay afloat and fight the monster. I love your microbuild on the top. It works very well with your cliff. Great job!
  20. Nice tower! I like the yellow and brown siding, and the snow scattered on the ground. I love the snow on the roof. Good MOC!
  21. This is a great Commerce entry. The winery is a great concept, and I really like the barrel and the wine. Good job!
  22. This is a great build! You've been doing great things with cheese slopes. The roofing is great, as is the sidewalk. I really like how the guy is cleaning up. Nice job!
  23. This is a really nice small build. The snot work on the snow is excellent, and you've done a great job on the crack in the ice. You've portrayed this scene superbly!
  24. This is an excellent build! You've done a great job with the wall, using a rather unique building style. You've also got great color usage for your guild. The bunk beds are great, as is the street and the horsemen (as others have commented). You're building skill has improved dramatically, and I'm always impressed by your builds.
  25. Very nice MOC. I like the interguildism in your MOC. I also like the mummies. Good job!
