This really is an excellent build! You've done a fantastic job with the cheese slope floor, and it's always nice to see new roof techniques. The sculpture on the front is great - it turned out very well. you also have a nice border, and the pillars are well done too. Great MOC!

Beautiful MOC! The barge is excellent, and my favorite part of the build, but you've done a great job with the Avalonian walls, and your brick work is excellent! I really like the bird as well - Great job!

This is an excellent build! Indeed, a great job of conveying the feeling of a mass exodus - your choice of pictures really gives emotion to it. I assume this is a prelude to challenge 5...?

I really wanted to incorporate all three of the regions, and the different peoples, and dinosaurs, and it all kind of came together. Andhe/Mikel - I was dead set on eastern influence, and I wanted to include a somewhat African influence as well, but I couldn't reconcile the architecture with the colder climates, so I compromised. Kayne - there is a definite possibility of that - those gnomes are surprisingly mobile for such little guys. NiceMarmot - I really wanted to incorporate the gnomish technology while representing the volatile nature of their creations - I may have to make some crazy gnomish MOCs in the future.... Mikel/Ecc - When I found the mountainous eastern picture, I knew it was perfect for what I was thinking. I also really like the coastal jungle pic - it really has kind of a secluded King Kong feel. Ecc/Rast/Torgar - Black is my favorite color, and blue is close behind, but I had to let the shields and oriental flags determine my final color. The blue worked really well, but coming up with a good meaning for the black was a bit of a stretch, and I had to rewrite my description to fit that in better. Gabe/NiceMarmot - The lute player with the cherry blossom tree was the first thing I thought of, and the rest of the vignette worked down from there, I was worried about creating the tree, but I'm pretty happy with the result. Torgar/Gabe - I had thought the map would be so easy since I drew many maps when I was younger for D&D, but I had to go through so many drafts, and then I tried to use GIMP, but that just looked horrible - I eventually settled back on my original drawing, but I'm still not completely satisfied with my mountains. I have much more respect for NiceMarmot and all the other mapmakers now - Also Gabe, I was very happy to see another hand drawn map as well. Thanks for all the comments guys!

Great job with so many entries everyone! A lot of great ideas, stories, peoples and builds!

I like the deep underground concept, and I really like your microscale representation of the guild - the scroll is a nice touch. Excellent work on the minifig!

5th Guild - The Amafriends Guild
Rogue Angel replied to lego_legis_legere's topic in Guilds of Historica
I have to say, that the friends figs don't look THAT bad in the four different armors in your last pic. It's half travesty, half genius... maybe genius is a little strong -
I like your guild concept, and I really like how ramshackle your hut looks.

5th guild - the land beyond, Morgali. (WIP)

Your art just blows me away! I love it, especially the first picture - great job! I like your MOC as well, and I love your griffin. Excellent work! -
Wow, you've packed so much into this entry! By far the best Geography - I really like the way you incorporated root words into so many of your names. I also like the timeline - I was considering doing that myself, but ran out of time. Also, you map is excellent for a first time try! Good job!
-
I really like your military figs. Trying to add more Mitgardian allies eh? Nice job!
-
Great entry! This is my favorite history of the competition. It is so complex and fluid with epic battles and epic times - excellent work! I like your figures as well - the white legs work very well. You also have a great map - I am jealous. Good job!
-
Yeah, I often see your MOCs on T&B a few days after you post them here. Great entry! I really love your MOC with it's multi-level approach. The mottling technique on the top level works very well - my favorite level. The house is well done too, and I like the mining shaft on the bottom. Good job with the figs, but Ecc is right - those are Avalonian torsos. Are they traitors or kidnapees, or were the shirts on clearance at an Avalonian outlet store Excellent entry!
-
It's nice to see someone reviving the dragon standard - one of my favorites. I like the dragon rider concept, and the great clash between the two houses. I also like the idea of other islands/continents around Historica that are as yet unexplored or lost in legend. Nice map as well!

Well, that settles the Angeli thing once and for all, doesn't it. I am hesitant to comment on it in the main thread, because I don't want to prolong the discussion. Is there any chance he's going to show up with a new ID and IP?

This has perhaps the most solid and innovative backstory of all the entries, IMO. I really like how you've interspersed so many of your native words and concepts into the description, really making it feel like a new alien culture. The floating islands are a great idea, and your brick built map is excellent! I always am blown away by your maps, and this is no exception. Apparently these people have abandoned their Seahawk God even though he saved them from the Serpent God? Ingrates! And really, unobtainium, you had to got there?

Wow! This is my favorite MOC of this challenge - just superb! I love the different styles you've incorporated, and the studded roof works great! I also like the use of the log bricks and the little lanterns. Amazing! I was thinking of incorporating the snake figs from Ninjago myself, but you've done an excellent job of incorporating a lot of that theme into your guild, making this a very appealing option for new builders as all the pieces are in one theme! I really like your descriptions and your hand drawn map, and I love all the unique pieces you've used with your figs, and I LOVE the buckets! Can't say I'm thrilled about your pigs though Great job!

I'm glad you finished this up in time - it's a very solid entry. The island concept works well, and you have fleshed out a number of areas and inhabitants. I love the microscale MOC, it works superbly here, and it makes your entry stand out. Also, you may have one of my favorite militaries - that shield works very well, as does the color scheme. Lastly, I love your final picture! Excellent entry!
-
Great job on this entry! I like the standard, and the the history. I LOVE the guarded entrances and the underground passages and cities. We really don't have a large underground network (aside from the accursed Drow) and I love this concept. The spider is superb as well! I also like your techniques/style for the rock work and your small entrance. Your map is exactly what I was trying to achieve with mine but didn't! Excellent all around!
-
I love the white blue and brown combination - it works surprisingly well. The story for this guild is great, and magic really hasn't been incorporated that much in the current guilds. I like the variety of figures, and you've done a good job with that tower! Good job!
-
This is an excellent entry! You've done a great job fleshing out the guild with your description (although is it a 10 day swim by a Eauriosian or by a swimmer from some other guild, because that apparently would make a HUGE difference in distance ) and you figs and color scheme are superb, as usual. The MOC is very well done with a lot packed into a little space, and the island and tree meld is presented very well. I have to agree that the dolphin slaughter is a bit harsh. Great job!
-
I really like the concepts of this guild - largely unexplored, no guild leader having stepped forward yet, focusing on new plant, animals, diseases... Great idea! It's like a frontier guild with so much possibility!
-
Some great ideas with this entry! I really like the floating island concept, and you've done an excellent job with the rock work on the bottom, and the clouds are perfect! I also like the little platform with the railings beneath, and the of course the balloon is well done. Your residents do seem awfully angry, for the most part
-
Great guild entry! I could see the Mediterranean influence in your description, which is a nice original idea. I agree that the gold and white work well for the standard, and the CMFs (which you have already used once or twice in your MOCs) work well here. I like your expansion on the different individual scenes, especially the serenading of the lady. You also have some cool building techniques, especially the tower and the balcony. The canals are a great idea! Excellent entry!
-
There are many things I really like about this entry. You've done a great job with the standard and color scheme - the brown works great with the black and white. I really like the use of the LotR torsos for your soldiers, and the gruff faces and uniform brown/tan hair. I especially like the shoulder cape combined with the full size cape. You're MOC is gorgeous - The plate instead of block technique looks amazing, but it is too time intensive for me. I really like the angled balcony, as well as the windows and sills, and the roof is great too! So much to love with this!
