Over the past few days, I have attempted to recreate the new Hobbit sets as closely as possible in LDD. These sets may have small portions where there are absolutely no views of that part of the set, however, for the most part, they should be accurate to all the photos that we currently have. By building these sets I have found that the Mirkwood Elf Army set does in fact separate to allow for different arrangements as well as that Dol Guldur Battle breaks up into six separate parts that are connected using axles. I have included pictures and the LXF files below for you to be able to rearrange and view the sets from new angles. It depends whether or not you want the minifigures in addition to the train, I was able to find a 79111 without the minifigures and some acessories for only $44 (USD) on Bricklink. If train itself is what iterests you, I would go this way! The train itself is a great addtion. It is quite a bit smaller than the Emrald Night but, if you keep them separated by a bit of distance both trains look great! The locomotive really looks like a traditional Western engine. If you can find it for a discount, it surely offers more for your money than the Emrald Night in features and some of the small details (as long as you actually need more track).

I downloaded the LXF File, and it appears that in order to use the "flexible" catipillar belt, one must switch to a different kind of wheels. The belt in the LXF file is 32007 and 680c01. Both sets use x1681 and 56145 instead. It looks about the same, but for accuracy's sake it is not the same. While I'm responding to this topic, I thought I might post another set as well; one that I was surprised that it had not been done before. 2654 is supposed to go inside the clear Plate Round 4x4 with 2x2 hole, since I replaced it with 60474, there was no hole to place 2654 in, thus I could not place it.

I just picked up "An Unexpected Gathering" for $69.99 from Fred Meyer. They only had one left of this set, and there were no other Hobbit sets. I did see a price tag for "The Goblin King Battle" whcih was indeed only $89.99.

The X-Wing cockpit issue makes sense, thank you for the helpful screenshot. As for Interceptor, I sadly do not have the canopy piece in any of its versions, so thus I am unable to test the fit. However, I do know that past Interceptors have used that part in the same position...

I reverse engineered set 9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor in LDD using the pictures provided by grogall. LXF File I cannot guarantee that this model is fully correct. There may be color or piece mistakes, especially where I could not see from the pictures. However, this can be used to see roughly what the shape of the ship is from different angles. In this build I used 284 bricks, a small amount if this set is supposed to be marketed at $40.

I chose not to buy the advent calendars from this year; but, as a general observation from past years, specifically from the '05-'07 City Advent Calendars as well as the Kingdoms Advent Calendar in '10, I did find lots of extras, such as in the Kingdom's Advent Calendar, several weapons that were not usually extras appeared as extras and swords came with two extras when only one was used, also one day had an extra pearl gold jumper plate and 2x1 roof end. I even found one day to give me an extra hair piece. The advent calendars will also do the same in respect to jewels, any jewels appearing will have extras, even though normal sets usually will not include them as extras. Advent calendars in recent years seem to generous with extra parts. Most of the extra parts do not vary from calendar to calendar and are legitimate extra parts.
