Great set! I happen to work in the Logistics field (in fact, Maersk is one of our main transport providers) and what a great piece of art to have it in your office! I've just found the perfect excuse to buy one more Lego set! I think that with some modifications it could easily be turned into a minifig scale ship. Not of course an actual scale ship but a smaller container vessel (just like the ship from the 7994 City harbor). The accomodation/bridge part is very well designed. The stickers don't really bother me because they add to the whole ship realistic look. Just one question: What's the ships length? Great point Freddie! And for those who are curious about the world's biggest ship CLICK HERE

Great work! You've certainly captured the feeling of those types of fishing boats! Excellent design! How about some shrimp fishing? ...or Lego "Perfect Storm"? *gets seasick after a while*

That's the picture I was talking about! The minifigs I was refering to, are the one in the barn in front of the window/opening above the tractor and the other one sitting on a bench under the umbrella on the left upper side of the picture. Thanks for sharing TheBrickster!

Outstanding review TheBrickster! Great pictures and focus on detail. The set is very interesting because we are dealing with a brand new theme and the desing of it is very beautiful. I really like the silo and the colours of the set! I got the official greek Lego catalogue a week ago and I have noticed something. In the pages where the Farm theme is displayed, there is -as usual- a display of all the sets combined together. I was when i saw two minifigs with the classic era face pattern. Has anybody seen this in their country's catalogues? (Sorry if this was off-topic but I was in a nostalgic mood. )

It's interesting that TLC includes extra parts even in impulse sets. The only impulse set i didn't find any extra piece was the 5621 Coast Guard Kayak (I have bought three of them and nothing in each of the three.) On the other hand, I was really surprized when I finished building the 7239 Fire Truck . I didn't find any extra piece in it, not even a small-tiny-little one. Pretty strange if you ask me, given the size and the piece count of the set.

I went to a local toy shop here in Greece and the new pirates were there! All the new sets were available except for the 6253 Shipwreck Hideout. I bought the Cannon Battle and the Soldier's Arsenal and i must say, although being sceptical about the new line in the beginning, the new minifigs are GREAT! (..and that new cannon colour.....amazing!)

NO! That is the answer you are looking for. *calms down and grabs a cigarette*--------- REMEMBER! SMOKING IS HAZARDOUS FOR YOUR HEALTH. I also have a huge number of classic era sets (mid 80's - early 90's),all of them bought at that time (important factor for me) and i can't even think of it as a joke of selling one of those. The thing is that every set i have had been bought because i liked it (so, no random gift sets or sets that ended up in my hands by "accident") . If you are attached with every one of those, don't sell anything. This is your Lego history, your Lego timeline. You 'll have chances of buying new sets in the future. Maybe even some old sets from E-bay or Bricklink. But not the ones.

This vehicle was the one that pulled me from my dark ages along with the 7902 Doctor's Car and the 7739 Coast Guard Patrol Boat & Tower. It is a nice little car but to tell you the truth i prefer the police car from the 7744 Police HQ and that is because: 1) The studless front part is nicer and the car looks more aerodynamic. 2) The driver's cabin is placed one stud closer to the front part resulting in being more "well balanced" for the eye. 3) The police lights on the top of this car look kinda odd IMO. Still, it is the first set i had built after dark ages and i consider it an all-time favorite set. The review was excellent matanui911! Very detailed and great photos! P.S The wheels .We had the issue of the size (scale) of the cars and now that is almost fixed, the majority of the vehicles use the same wheels.

Very relaxing mattress...

Very nice MOC Teddy! It can be excellently combined with the CC style buildings! It reminds me a bit of the Ghostbusters building, which was also an old fire station. You 've captured the New York style i think.

Great topic Klaus-Dieter! Well, my vote could be considered not being objective because of the fact that i'm from Greece, but i too think that an ancient greek theme would be great. There is a vast amount of sub-stories, incidents, elements, characters, structures, buildings, monuments and myths that could be used due to the timeline that involves. If TLC wouldn't want to be history accurate in terms of combining different periods together, beginning from the late period of Minoan Civilization (approx. 1700 BC) and ending in the Roman occupation (146 BC) , with the addition of mythology the variety of ideas that TLC could use is huge. So, i guess that greeks have invented even soap opera... You 're right about that. Most of the monsters that mythology provides have their back story and what a great thing to see some of those in a Lego form (like Minotaur for example.) The Delphic Oracle was the place to be .Actually, the majority of the monsters or incidents that involved monsters or superficial facts, are the interpretation of the things that people didn't know why were there or afraid of, or were not in a position to explain. P.S Even my signature shows the way to TLC.

Excellent and very helpful review svelte_corps! (..as usual ) This is a great set for someone to buy i think, and that is because it provides a variety of elements, not necessarily strickly construction-themed oriented. The mobile crane is very very good! I think that the size is the right one. Not too big and certainly not small, although something about the driver's cabin makes me sceptical.... Maybe (i cannot believe i'm writing this... ) if the cabin was a little bigger the whole vehicle would look better overall. The cargo truck is nice. I don't think is something really special but the good part is that you can easily blend it and use it with the other cargo sets, or even recruit it for your cargo fleet for special transports (train wagons, train tracks , big parts for a power plant construction ). The buliding is a great addition in a construction set! As svelte_corps correctly pointed, it's really positive that the set you buy, you can actually use it alone. And of course an extra building in the City -small yes, why not? Not all of the buildings in a city are big.Maybe it's a Lego Shop only selling impulse sets! I personally like it! Modular also? The lift is also a nice addition. The alternative use? Bungee jumping tower! (after purchasing 5 copies of this set of course.) The only thing i don't like in this set is the little dozer. It is not very eye-capturing , the wheels kinda look odd, it is like a vehicle designed for one of those Basic sets. Thanks again for the review! EDIT: I found a construction related clip today. Believe me, it's funny! Click

Just got back from the cinema. "Eminence Front" by Who was playing in my car during the whole ride. Excellent for cruising i must say.

Very impressive MOC I Scream Clone! The SNOT sea really does the job with how you have manage to put the lights for photographing! It reflects like real water. I the way the boat's stern is in the water. Very clever thought considering the chest .(Those diamonds, sure are heavy!) The entrance is also great! These doors fit very well for a fortress. (oh, and you should call this guy to fix the popping stones on the entrance ramp. You don't want someone get injured do you? )

Nice MOC! To tell you the truth, seeing Old Man Jenkins holding the rifle reminds me of The End, a character with a sniper rifle from the videogame Meal Gear Solid 3. The expression of the running kid... hmmm.... i don't want to guess what he has in his mind for payback

This set is just great! I really like castle-themed sets and although my priorities when it comes to collect/buy Lego is Town/City and Pirates,(ok, i have bought 2 impulse castle sets ) this is a must buy!!!! There are so many details and the buildings are wonderful! I'm definetely going to buy it, as soon as it comes to Greece.

Come on, you know what i meant!

Actually, i'd like to thank you for bringing this topic to the surface Ralph_S what can i say, your vehicles are just amazing! I don't know if there is a topic about the whole fleet but since it's the first time i'm seeing these masterpieces the only thing i can say is WELL DONE! The bus is magnificient! I really the side doors! The cargo truck is very accurate and wonderful! The main field of my job is Logistics and this could be a great addition on my office desk ! I guess your MOCs are a strong motive for a 6-wide world. Keep up the good work! (Sorry for being rather off the main topic. Enthusiasm you see... )

I 've read some things about it, in their website and it is something like that. As far as i've seen, mostly action figures' owners have the tendency of this procedure. The only Lego set i saw (based on a quick ebay search) is the BSB above. It's almost factory-new. (odd term, i know )

The first Lego set i got (i think 1986) still remember the two firures and the door (it had impressed me, don't know why..) the first Legoland set i got (1987) ...and the wheel started turning...
