Nice deal with the Death Star, they had 2 at my local KMart, one went before Christmas, the other after. They were always $599 when I price checked them. Though I'm kind of glad I didn't see them for $475, I would have been tempted, and that wouldn't be an easy purchase to justify at home The 2010 pricing does look steep (but don't we say that every year), especially that Tie Defender and Freco bike. I was actually surprised the Battle packs hadn't gone up sooner.

Nice you got one of these. I bought one when they were released, you're right they were released in 2007 and they were $64.99 (at least that's what I paid). I missed the Stormtrooper and Darth Vader ones, I'd really love both of them, but they are way too pricey now. I too like the way they did these, like the SW LEGO video characters. And nice you're wife got it for Christmas, she did well to know about these and get one from eBay for you.

Hardly news - but I noticed Coles has the Red Sports car for $5. They didn't have any Tow trucks at my Coles, so not sure if that was reduced, but I did notice they had a bunch of stuff for clearance so I assume that is a bit cheaper now. KMart had nothing reduced.

I was lucky enough to pick one up when LEGO released them at AUD$399 - so a second one is just being greedy Though I am wondering what will happen after Christmas if any AT-OT's hit the shelves for people who cancelled them right before Christmas, there's nothing greedy about another one of those

From memory the new kits will be released in Jan at their RRP. Then usually a few weeks later someone like KMart will have a 15% off (that seems to be the new 20% off, though to be fair Kmart's RRp is usually under LEGO's). So if you're patient you can wait a few weeks and get them a little cheaper. Boxing Day sales rarely include toys, outside of old stock they are desperate to get rid of. By the way I noticed my KMart this morning has run its stock down pretty well. They still have a few Farms and Harvesters and a little PM, but the sales / clearance has moved most of the items. I did notice that 1 then 2 Death Stars appeared recently, however 1 was gone today, and still at $599.

Kmart had a few extra clearance items today: - Galactic Enforcer $80 - Combine Harvester $28. I couldn't leave them there at those prices

Got a flyer that Toys R Us have 50% off the Twilight. Though it comes down to $85,which begs the question when did it ever become $170??

I'm going to bank on the Imperial Flagship coming to retail at some point. Maybe DJ's for Christmas 2010, or a KMart July 2010 Toy Sale exclusive. But the price point is better than I had thought.

I just grabbed that Drawbridge defense from DJ's with their 25% off deal and thought I was getting a good deal. I must have checked that kit on the price checker at KMart at least a dozen times these past few months waiting on the inevitable clearance price. They really are going to be bear come Christmas. I can remember last year on Christmas Eve having a big splurge on the Castle sets and the shelves were really well stocked with all kits. This year there wont be any last minute LEGO gifts coming from KMart.

Went to David Jones and their sale goes to the 13th and is 25% off full priced toys. Also has anyone seen any bus stop advertising for LEGO. I noticed one yesterday thst had a picture of the minifig Santa on a white background. First time I've ever seen LEGO advertising. It was right near my local Kmart which has almost been stripped bare of LEGO due to these sales.

Do we know if this 25% off sale was a 1 day only event. DJ's don't do a great job of advertising these events.

I picked up a Clone Wars YWing for $55 from KMart yesterday. I also noticed a further drop in the Indy items, the plane was down to $50 and the Temple of Doom down to $75. I wonder if Indy kits will be like Batman kits one day ? I saw a couple of Batman kits sell for crazy prices on eBay this week (Arkham Asylum and Two face chase).

Great price, well done. I just did a quick ring around and no stores within a reasonable drive had any left. I've actually grabbed quite a few toys (outside of LEGO) at KMart at greatly reduced clearance prices, they do now how to discount.

My KMart is now stocking the Pirate range, though no Brickbeard's bounty.

Yes they have some nice t-shirts. I was looking into getting a few, but with a minimum delivery charge of close to $40 I had given them a miss. With that discount you can grab a few + a Tantive IV and they'll all be delivered for the same price.

Thanks for the tip. I've actually had a Tantive IV in my shopping basket for weeks wondering if i should go ahead and get it. I was going to hold off and see if it showed up next year at a Toy Sale, given the heavy reductions we've seen on those items this year I thought it might be worth the punt.

Go for the Y-Wing, its a great kit.

My local KMart has been all but cleared of the Dropship / AT-OT. They had at least 10 there following the Toy Sale that just weren't moving, but since the drop to $170, they have all but disappeared. There was 1 left last week. Same has happened with the Troll's fortress. These "Clearance" prices are great, but as Svelte mentioned up above, its worrying that the shelf life seems so short now.

Bit belated, but thanks for an excellent review. I've been eyeing this kit of for some time now. I'm going to try and grab one at KMart's (Australia) clearance sale.

Thanks for the tip on Trolls Fortress. Gee KMart love to discount these large kits Toys R Us are having a 20% off (full priced items) for 3 days (Thursday - Saturday 1 November). I managed to grab another HSD. As for the Pirate exclusive they are carrying, I'm sure its $70.

Yeah me too. Though with one receipt you still get a chance for the instant prize, just need to print out the form and go and "de-code".

KMart's Briktober sale this week has: - CW Tank Droid $30 - Hoth Base $30 - Assasian Droid pack $15 - midi Falcon $44 Some not bad deals..............though nothing like the AT-OT. You've got to wonder if you had that on laybuy for $300 (or $350 - as they were in the first few days) wouldn't you just cancel it and get it for $170. I've noticed in the Hasbro SW stuff they've done something similar with the Turbo Tank - it was $300 (and was released at the Toy sale), now its on clearance for $130.
