Choosing the title is always the hardest part
Admiral Croissant replied to Haltiamieli's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm only 19 years old and so far I've never sold all my Lego. But it must be quite a step to start all over again. It's always good to hear that AFOLs after a long dark age start collecting again. -
That's a rather good ship I like the stern and the rigging looks good. The bow chasers are also nice. How did you make them? something with tires? But there is also some room for improvement. I would remove the yard on the bottom of each mast (ships didn't have that). Perhaps you can also change the red slopes (leading to the figurehead) into brown ones. Red seems a little out of place. And finally, you could try to change the 'ropes' to the crow's nests a little because now they aren't attached to the hull and they seem to long. Still, a nice and promising ship. Well done so far

That's a nice improvement. It has a very realistic rigging now. Now all it needs is a crew and then she will be ready to set sail!

The treasure chamber is a very good idea. It could have been the reason to build the castle around it I think the whole design is excellent and the stables look good. I'd like to see this one finished. A marketplace, some other buildings and a few paths would really make this a good looking castle IMO.

Yes changing the path would be a nice improvement (perhaps keeping the same elevation as the grass but just a different colour for the path. You could also try to make it with SNOT-water. But the lighthouse and the rocks look excellent. Well done

[Comic] The Adventures of Harry Potter
Admiral Croissant replied to Izzy's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
This is the kind of stuff that Rowling wouldn't have written, although I think it's quite appealing to try this kind of jokes Good editing by the way. And did you 'invent' the jokes yourself? -
Nice ship. I like how the acces hatches open, and the sloped stern and colourscheme are quite nice as well. Perhaps a bit more brown on the decks would look good and a sail or piece of rope going from the mast to the bowsprit would definitely be a good improvement.
-
It's been demolished, so my points of improvement are for the next ship. If you give your next ship the same rigging, you could let one of the triangular sails towards the bowsprit go to about halfway the bowsprit. If you let them go to the same point, one of the sails is taking the wind out of the other sail. And adding a sail on the yard there in the back would be nice as well. And finally, you could also remove the lowest black yard on each of the 2 masts. The brown decks are nice though, and the colourscheme is great as well, though the yellow line gets broken by black bricks. And good work on the stern Good luck on the Angelica 2!
-
Well that's not much of a secret really.. I just used ropes for it. Like on this picture: As you can see there's just a small black piece of rope tied to both sides of the yard and around the mast. And another tan/white rope going from the ends of the yard to somewhere above. I used mainly pin connectors for the masts and it's easy to tie the ropes there between 2 of those connectors.

Even though it's quite simple, it looks very nice. The slightly tilted entrance gate and the light really make it look like a valuable, old and mythical treasure.

Nice port MOC I like the ship, the church and all the activity going on. Details like a ship's wheel or swords on the walls are nice as well. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

My votes: 2 points to Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion by Bonaparte & Captain Green Hair. -The best m.i.s. galleon so far. And excellently coloured. 1 point to RTS Zavala by RTN LNA -very detailed and great working steam paddles. 1 point to Le Requin by CGH -One of the first good frigates on this forum. 1 point to La Mort Royale by CGH -A very fine ship. It has to be because it's more or less been copied. 1 point to HMS Prince of Wales by Bonaparte and CGH. -I think it's by far the best of its kind. 1 point to Achille by Perfectionist. -Certainly one of the best frigates out here. Very detailed and with an interior.

You have to upload your pictures first to for example brickshelf.com or imageshack.com. Then you can just click this image , and paste the link of the brickshelf folder there. Right now it's only the location of the pictures on your own computer.

Amazing! Comparing yours with the picture of the real one, it looks very real. Most of the techniques (at least, on the outside) don't seem very hard to do, but getting everything on scale and with the motors and stuff inside is very clever
-
Wonderfoul building. Especially the roofs are very clever, and they must have taken a lot of time to make! These Japanese buildings must be quite a challenge for every MOC'er, but you did a great job I think the water thing (with the horse heads) is my favourite part. Just looks beautiful with all those golden details.
-
Excellent car You've used some nice and original techniques there, like on the roof and the back structure. I also like the fact that the doors can be opened. Good job.
-
I don't think this can be done any better in Lego. It's amazingly detailed and the techniques for the roof, walls, bird (owl?) and other things are excellent. I also like the side of the house with the door a lot. The wooden structure there is well done and is also very useful for other MOC's.

No I actually meant that his torso piece isn't attached perfectly to the leg piece (there's a little bit space between both parts).

FINAL FANTASY LEGO: Crystal Hearts
Admiral Croissant replied to Sandy's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
I never played any of the Final Fantasy games, but I enjoyed reading this comic. Good layout, very clear pictures and I also liked the mix with a videogame in the beginning of the story -
Better late than never. Such a well-known pirate has to be congratulated! Happy Birthday Slyowl! And the other members as well ofcourse

Happy New Year from Eurobricks!
Admiral Croissant replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Ah the pirates forum on an honourable third place I wish everyone a Happy New Year! with a lot of happiness, bricks, fortune and stuff like that. -
Great I liked how the small turtle is threatening the boy with destroying the earth and things like that With a limited amount of brigs you're still able to make a good comic. Good job.
-
No it's not a sloop. It has the sailplan typically for a brig. (look here) And in case you consider it a sloop-of-war, then it's a snow, but a snow is a type of brig.

What was the last movie you watched?
Admiral Croissant replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I watched 'New Kids Turbo' in our cinema yesterday. It's a Dutch film so I think most of you don't know it. There was so much violence and cursewords in the movie that after a while it started to bore me and the story wasn't very good either.. But there were funny parts in it as well. (on a range from 1-5 and 5 is the best, I would give this one 3).
