[Review] #75273 Poe Dameron's X-wing Fighter
LegoFjotten replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review! I must admit I didn't pay too close attention to the info about this one, but in my head the color registered as dark orange, but it's actually orange... Ouch! Price in Norway is about €110... Ouch again! Jannah and the Knight of Ren figures looks nice, and I'm sure the build is good. Maybe I will pick it up at 40-50% off. -
[Review] #75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack
LegoFjotten replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree with that, the BP's are all about the minifigs so the regular scoring system doesn't fit that well. To me this is at least 9/10 overall. The figures all looks great, although I probably would prefer more subdued colors on the blue/green ones. -
Seriously... Maybe you should take a few minutes to read up on The LEGO Foundation before you accuse people you don't know and don't know anything about being greedy?

Yes, all B&P orders are handled by the consumer services (or whatever they are called, I forgot) in Billund. -
Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
LegoFjotten replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only thing certain is that the numbers being thrown around here are pretty close to 100% pure speculation. @koalayummies had it about right... That said, I do agree with JanetVanD that the AFOL community does a great job creating a positive buzz for LEGO with events & exhibitions - which LEGO acknowledges through through it support of LUGs, projects and exhibitions. -
I'll keep watching. It's alright but I'm not blown away. Some bits I like better than others, think they go a bit too far with the Mandalorian being slapped around like some hapless dummy at times. After bingeing the latest season of The Expanse over the last few days I can certainly recommend that to anyone who want their sci-fi fix with better storytelling, characters you actually care about and some classic cliffhangers.

...some months later... A little disappointed there haven't been any new rewards with actual bricks or minifigures since the launch. What is up with that? Still think they should get rid of all the fluff, basically everything at 10 points should just be given away elsewhere instead of cluttering up the list.

In addition to what has already been mentioned, they also do workshops at some of the fan events. Last year I went to two workshops at the Skærbæk Fan Weekend, one was purely for feedback on various topics, the other was two parts where the second part was feedback & suggestions. This year they had sessions on Ideas & Lead User Lab (did not attend any of them), but feedback & suggestions were probably a big part of them. ...and last but not least, quite a few AFOLs are now LEGO designers and keep in touch with the community. -
The Best and Worst of 2019
LegoFjotten replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Best theme: Harry Potter, but honorable mention to Hidden Side Best set: Stranger Things - The Upside Down is my overall fave set, but the Creator Expert Ford Mustang was a marvellous building experience I'd also like to give props to: 1989 Batmobile, T-Rex Rampage, Apocalypseburg & Ideas Tree House Most anticipated: Of the sets I know about I'm really looking forward to the Chinese New Year Temple Fair and Lion Dance.- 42 replies

I would have waited if it hadn't been for the smaller Batmobile. -

Cat woke me up last night, so I took the opportunity to place an order for the Batmobile. Shipped already (w/ freebies), that was pretty fast! -

Great BP! I would not have guessed we would get so many different figures. The only question that remains is: how many copies do I buy? -

No they do not. The examples demonstrate choices made by the designers of the sets - should the allocated budget be spent on decorations or more bricks. -
LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
LegoFjotten replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I dropped by a local shop today (kinda random, was just waiting for my wife to do finish her shopping), and they had 30% on all LEGO including the latest sets. Picked up the Death Star Cannon set on impulse since I was intrigued by the new hood piece, and it does look great! Haven't been paying too much attention, anyone knows if it is available in more colors / sets? -

The retail exclusive sets usually shows up in the Norwegian S@H, weird if that is different for Denmark. I'm talking about sets like: 76041 The Hydra Fortress Smash 76060 Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum ...and so on. Promos on the other hand, like the Target minifigure cubes, Bricktober & various polybags are a no-show. -
I'll have to disagree, I think the set is superb as is. A regular house & car would have been just boring compared to what we got. The set captures the essence of the show in a single build that I think looks great on display, and it was fun to build as well. I don't expect to see any more Stranger Things sets unfortunately, even though personally I would have like to have more ST minifigures. We can always hope though, maybe season 4 will have some memorable scenes just begging to be made into sets.

An interesting tidbit from the Q&A sessions with Jamie Berard and Jan Beyer at Skærbæk; Jamie asked if we liked the Stranger Things set (which a lot of people did, no surprise). He then talked a little about how it was an exciting time at LEGO, that they now are able to do sets that previously would not have been possible to do (I understood this as a change in internal policies with regards to sets aimed at adults, but he never said so directly as far as I can remember). The Upside Down was the first of these, and it was brought to market in about 6 months which is a lot quicker than what is normal for a LEGO set. He hoped they would bring us more sets like that in the future. Just to be clear, he was not talking about future Stranger Things sets, but in general. Pretty exciting stuff I think! Stranger Things is my favourite set so far this year, and I would love to see more high quality D2C sets from other current IP's. A quick disclaimer: This is all from memory (which has been proven poor on occasion), English is not my first language and so on. Maybe if someone else was there they can add their 2 cents.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
LegoFjotten replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
The 89' Batman & Joker figures looks great! A Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman would be fantastic! As for the CMF's... well... I'm starting to realize I don't know much about the DC universe. None of the figs so far excite me. -
They should just keep going as long as the market is there. Sure, after years of buying LEGO SW sets I'm getting tired of repeats too, but imagine children discovering SW and no products on the shelves? Or fresh AFOL's coming out of their dark ages with only the secondary market - that would suck. Plenty of AFOL's who could benefit from taking a break from LEGO SW though, and that is easy - just don't buy the sets.

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
LegoFjotten replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Except for Sinestro, I haven't even heard about this lot... Still, I love that we are getting figures other than the usual suspects - might be a cool series after all. -
To me it really hasn't changed that much... GWPs or exclusive sets have always been the only reason to shop at S@H, better discounts can be had elsewhere they still have regular GWPs instead of just a small discount on future orders, points can now be used for extra GWPs which is better in my book (the Iconic VIP set was great) There are a couple of things which I would like though: There should always be at least one GWP small set or polybag available, just keychains, posters & prints doesn't do it for me Get rid of the downloadable colouring sheets I'd be up for an e-mail notification when a new GWP (with actual LEGO bricks or figures) was available Why not offer some of the awesome posters they have on the walls at the LEGO House, those I would actually like to hang on my walls
