  1. Still trying to sort out how many from the Norwegian mafia are coming, I think we will be more than 3 so we probably need another cabin.
  2. I remember from a factory tour in Billund that the moulds were not always built to the same specifications. Moulds that were considered "one-off" were made with cheaper materials and would be close to worn out towards the end of their planned use. I think the specific example used was "something like a helmet from Chima that was only used for a single wave". It is possible this was the case with the goat. If I remember correctly they also had some moulds which were made with replaceable inserts (of extray durable materials) for heavy-hitters like the 2x4 brick. instead of replacing the entire thing they could just swap in a new insert. This was 4 years ago though, so for all I know they might do things differently now.
  3. @The Reader I've wondered about this too. My best guess would be that they need to provide the regular replacement parts service anyway, and by offering the B&P service they can keep the department running year round and offset some of the costs.
  4. I asked Jan Beyer & Jamie Berard about this at a questions & answers session at Skærbæk last year. They said all B&P orders are handled by the consumer something department in Billund. Keep the pieces with a clean conscience. I've seen multiple people this has happened to that has contacted LEGO and been told to just keep the pieces. If you want you can always send them an e-mail or call when you get the second order, but I'm pretty sure they will tell you just to keep it.
  5. All B&P orders are handled from Billund. If a postage stamp (I'm guessing it's printed, right?) says Germany then it is probably due to some practicality with logistics. Maybe the B&P orders are delivered in bulk by pallet to some HUB in Germany before it is split into shipments to different countries. The orders are definitely hand picked in Billund.
  6. I was the one who originally reported these Light kits to Brickset after finding them on the shelves at LEGO World. I tried purchasing the set for the Mustang since I was very curious about how they worked, surprised that I'd never heard of them before, and the Mustang set was not that expensive. The facts are: The light kits does not currently exist They may actually never produce this type of kit (but at least now we know that they are seriously considering it) The boxes are just mockups (they looked pretty good though) The pricing was most likely set just to have a starting point for their question (I was asked "What do you think about the price?") I know this type of kit has been requested by AFOLs on multiple occasions where LEGO have asked for feedback from fans, so nice to see that they follow up. For anyone considering a light kit for Hogwarts I agree with @BacktoBricks that it is probably better to get a custom kit now, rather than wait (a long time!) for something that may never happen.
  7. I have a hard time believing we will see a Grimmauld Place set. Just don't see it translate well into a toy that would spark the interest of children.
  8. I recently bought some LumeCubes, small photo/video lights that are well suited for photographing LEGO mocs and whatnot. I can bring them along if anyone is interested in a mini photo workshop. Maybe Markus could pitch in with some photo tips as well?
  9. Will be interesting to see how the gunship turns out.
  10. What I really love about that set is that there isn't a minifigure I want in it!
  11. I think the new sets all sound good. If we get a good centaur mold that would be fantastic. Not super excited about the patronuses. Would prefer Fred & George over Ron & Dobby in the Privet drive set. Getting the Dursleys is great. This wave does feel a little light on new characters though, especially for those of us that already have Umbridge & Horace Slughorn. I must admit I was hoping for a Burrow set with Bellatrix, Fenrir and some of the other Weasleys. Hopefully the CMF will bring a lot of the characters we are missing. Regardless, Harry Potter is still my favourite theme for the past few years. The number of great minifigures we have gotten so far is amazing... One can only imagine how it will look after one more CMF and next years wave...
  12. I thought this set looked pretty cool when it was revealed, but after (finally!) building it today I will have to upgrade my opinion to frickin' awesome! I found the build enjoyable, both the dino & gate looks great. Figures are very nice, I especially like the ones that we didn't get before (Hammond, Nedry & Arnold). The minifig stand is excellent too. Highly recommended to anyone who likes Jurassic Park. @RyanMe No stability issues here. I can shake the desk with no sign of it even getting close to falling over. You probably checked this already, but are both the joins on each leg clicked properly into place? That is really the only think I can think of that would cause it be unstable.
  13. If you look up the definition of fact you will find it does not say something heard from someone who supposedly was somewhere who may or may not be a faker.
  14. Breakfast is not included, each cabin has a kitchen & fridge so easy & cheap to make your own. No common meeting rooms as far as I know.
  15. A shame about the changes, but we just gotta roll with it. I like hanging out and talking to you guys so I would actually prefer less program and more time to mingle. Following up on what Skalldyr said, between the bunch of us I think we can probably scrounge up some stuff for a little prize pool? Edit: Oh, and the LEGO House/Factory tour - fine for those who are in Billund for the first time, but most of us have probably seen everything already.
  16. Last time in Billund a few of us stayed in one of the Lalandia cabins. They are a lot nicer than the tiny chalets in the Holliday Village. They will be a little more expensive (last time was approx EUR 220 per person for 4 nights). Something to consider if you haven't booked yet...
  17. Cool to have this kind of vote on Ideas! Haven't decided what to vote yet, all three are good candidates. Usually I'm just interested in OT stuff, but the Gunship is one of the very few vehicles from the PT that I like. The system scale ones were pretty good, so a slightly larger (but a lot more detailed) in the 2500-3000 piece range could be great.
  18. IMO they should change the print to a new generic face every year just for variety, even if it meant that later runs of certain sets had a different face. Just slip a new print into the system and roll with it.
  19. Thanks for the review! This BP looks pretty decent, I will probably pick one up at an opportune moment. The figs all look good. I agree that two regular troopers would have been better for for army building (not that I'm into that myself, except for regular OT Stormtroopers). The torso makes those jet troopers looks pretty good for more general Sci-Fi use I think, they look kinda generic (in a good way).
  20. Benny's Space Squad is now 40% off at S@H (with a limit of 5 per customer). Not sure if it is available in all countries or not.
  21. Found 15 Space Squad sets on clearance a week ago, €5 per set. Would love a similar set with red, black, non-scratched blue figs... we can only dream. Orange spaceman looks cool, probably a prototype.
  22. Fantastic work, love it!
  23. It would be a huge mess for the LEGO community if Flickr went away, hope that doesn't happen. I doubt it would go away overnight, but it doesn't hurt to make a backup of your images. You can cselect up to 500 photos and download as a zip file.
  24. Thanks for the review! This set unfortunately does not float my boat at all. Don't like the the shape of the wings, the overall look with those colors or the massive amount of studs / anti-studs. With just 3 minifigs, one of which is a repeat there isn't really much here that interests me. But that's ok, luckily I'm not a collector who needs to have every set.
  25. Built the 1989 Batmobile over the last few days, that thing is huge (cue that's what she said jokes)! Enjoyable build, nice figs, great display piece. I still want that Michelle Pfeiffer catwoman fig though.
