  1. Oh the poor sods seeing the "HOT" topic notification thinking there is new information...
  2. I had a witty reply to that written down, but I left it in my otter pants.
  3. @sebastian666 You can go ahead an believe whatever false information you want, nothing we can do about that. However, if you should decide to instead educate yourself with some accurate information you can read this nice article as a primer on how they work with those books: New LEGO Star Wars Build Your Own Adventure book — exclusive first look and interview [Feature] I attended an interview/talkshow with the very same Rod Gilles at Skærbæk Fan Weekend last year where he touched on some of the same subjects. He specifically mentioned coming with up his own ideas, eventually building them and having them go through model review, and after some years of working on these books he had a fair sense of what they wanted which made it a little easier. We are not making this stuff up as we go you know... Plenty of people on here sharing insight on some of the inner workings of LEGO, as long as you choose to listen.
  4. No. Any similarities to upcoming figures or sets are just because they share the same source material. The people working the books are not the same people designing the sets. They do not know what LEGO is planning to release.
  5. Sorry @sebastian666, but @Balrogofmorgoth is right. Everything he said is 100% correct.
  6. It will be interesting to see if the $400 D2C Diagon Alley turns out to be true. I am very curious to see what they could do with that budget. Had the old Diagon Alley set been updated to today's standard (same buildings & figs, just with more detail/pieces) I guess it would cost closer to $250. Another $150 on top of that should give us some good stuff.
  7. If you can find them on sale after the advent season they are actually not too bad. Prices on Bricklink for individual figures usually go down as well due to increased availability.
  8. Skaerbaek (if it's not cancelled, I fear it may well be) rules out september for me as well. I guess I'm somewhat pessimistic too... maybe pushing the event until next year is the more realistic option.
  9. Standard shipping, ordered just past midnight.
  10. Like it even more after seeing the official photos!
  11. I absolutely love the classic looking packaging! Having the set double as a pirate ship is a great idea! No doubt the original have much more of a moc quality to it, so I understand why some are disappointed. I was on the fence, now I am not. Looking forward to official images.
  12. Shame about the lack of leg printing on Bellatrix, luckily I got the old one. I agree with others that this points to a new version of the Burrow. Really looking forward to see what other figs come in that set. I'm guessing it will be along the lines of the previous Burrow, hopefully with a few extra figs as the HP sets so far have been pretty generous with minifigs. With the upcoming CMF Series 2 and the rumoured D2C... what a time to be a LEGO Harry Potter fan!
  13. Wow, those are great! Don't know why, but I immediately thought of this old video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLnWf1sQkjY&frags=pl%2Cwn
  14. So.... that was disappointing from my AFOL point of view.
  15. That was unexpected! Will see what the sets looks like, but there is definitely potential here.
  16. Your are looking too much at the answer, and not enough at what the question being answered was. My simplified version of the question & answer: Q: "Will you only allow sellers to sell elements that are currently in production?" A: "No, sellers can continue to sell old/retired elements".
  17. You got it wrong.
  18. Plenty of snorkelers wears wetsuits, and hoods are very common for divers unless they just do short and shallow dives.
  19. Nice figure! On one hand it is great that they do a new figure for a book, on the other not so great that I will have to buy a book instead of a LEGO set to get it. Beggars can't be choosers though, and I want as many unique figs as I can get my hands on.
  20. The answer is easy: They don't think those themes will perform as well as the ones they are currently doing. They go with what they think will be most successful.
  21. As usual it is somewhat of a mixed bag. I really like the piñata boy, Viking & Knight The bunny & turtle are super cute Space girl has some nice printed parts Nunchucks, Keytar are cool New combined hat & hair variants are always nice Hopefully the llama and pea pod will grow on me, not super excited at the moment Green brick, ranger, javelin thrower are the ones I'm least interested in. Overall I wish there were a few more figures that really hit home with me. I'll probably get a box though.
  22. Got an order yesterday, and counted the pieces for the first time. One small lot was missing, others had a little extra. In total I got a little more than I ordered.
  23. The set & figures looks pretty good. Looks like a set I would actually enjoy. That price though, EUR 158 in Norway. I think LEGO Star Wars is pretty close to over and done with for me.
  24. Those sets does not look the same at all to me. Based on the same source material yes, but completely different builds.
