  1. I got my full set of 18 yesterday. The minifigs in my opinion are excellent but the printing quality is not consistent across all figures like many have already pointed out. Luckily for me, all my minifigs have good printing (including Mickey and Minnie - I examined closely)except for Ariel. She has a huge scar across her front tail which is annoying and unacceptable. I am actually thinking of bringing her back to the shop to get a replacement.
  2. Thank you for the review Whitefang - I've waited for long for this. Your review is unique, always interesting to read and I like your photos - they are imaginative and hilarious! This was a pleasure read on the way to work this morning. Please continue with this for future series.
  3. Darn, I hope the poll results will change Lego's mind about not releasing series 2 next year. I hope the can squeeze it in somewhere next year. I'll buy them all!
  4. My pick is Ursula! I think she is an excellent figure overall, love the new torso/tentacle piece, very true to the original character design. I can't wait to read your review. I also look forward to future Disney series. Hopefully many more to come. I love Disney and I can't wait to collect every single Disney characters that Lego will release.
  5. Anyone spotted Lego Disney minifigures in the wild yet?? In particular in Melbourne?
  6. My list and prediction for Series 2: 1. Sorcerer or classic Mickey 2. Goofy (it's obvious) 3. Pinocchio (this would be really cool if they do it) 4. Woody (duh!) 5. Snow white 6. Belle 7. Beast 8. Mulan 9. Jafar 10.Tinkerbell 11.Cruella De-ville 12.One of the characters from Winnie the Pooh 13.One of the characters from Monster Inc 14.Lilo 15.One of the characters from Incredibles, maybe Elastic girl 16.Hercules 17.Tarzan (this would be so cool if it comes true, one of my favourite character and Disney film) 18.Evil queen from Snow white.
  7. Looking at these pics closely, the printing quality is indeed VERY poor. While the figures are excellent in my opinion, I hope the bad quality printing is not consistent. Anyway with only 2 weeks away from official release, I can't believe we still haven't got Whitefang's review. Whitefang, where are you? Hopefully won't be long now. I also think Ursula is still a well made figure, if not one of the best in this series. I don't mind the mould or the colour of the torso. I think Lego has put a lot of effort in this one, even though it is not perfect and should be credited for it. I also cannot wait for the next series, hopefully more classic princesses, like snow white, Cinderella, mulan, the lists go on and on.
  8. Stacks of Dr Who idea sets spotted in Myer Melbourne CBD for those who missed out. I'm still waiting for the Airport battle set and the new speed champion sets to show up in stores. Can't find them anywhere.
  9. Not sure what to think of these figs. I've been waiting forever for a reveal and now we have this. Some figs are excellent, others not so much. Cheshire cat is good, but not sure that it is suited in a minifigure body form.. it looks a bit out of place in my opinion. Some figures were really not needed and a waste of space like buzz and the aliens. agree that Buzz looks awful in the lego head form. It's true that the classic Disney characters like Mickey and Donald look very strange when you put it next to the other characters. The best for me at this stage is probably Ursula. Overall I'm not as keen as I was.
  10. Bought Crossbone's Hazzard Heist for $39 and Harley's bike chase for $35 at Kmart Fountain Gate which I think is pretty good value. They also have all the mighty micro sets which I'm not interested in. They have the new avenjet set but no sign of Black Panther pursuit and Airport battle set. Bought Dr Who's set from Myer Fountain gate 2 weeks ago when they had 20% sale, only paid $63. They only had 4 at the time. When I went back, it was all gone.
  11. I think Lego should just have a zoo theme, full stop. I will buy every sets if they release this theme. I hope someone from the Lego marketing team is reading this.
  12. Thanks for replying Artanis. Had no idea that they are February release. Cheers!
  13. Have anyone spotted Nexo Knight sets in the wild yet??
  14. Picked up a few lego minifigures series 15 from Myer Melbourne CBD. By the time I got my hands on them, they were fairly picked out. There were 4 boxes, many wrestlers and clumsy guys left. Picked the rests from Kmart, they had four boxes as well and they were fairly rummaged through as well. Fortunately I managed to get the whole set plus a few extras for the ones that I really like. Kmart also have a lot of the new Star Wars TFA sets and Ninjago sets. It looks like stores are now beginning to stock all the new Lego sets. Better be quick with the minifigures though or you will end up paying doubles on ebay. I got the following minifigures, still after a few favourites. Shark Suit guy - 2 (want 4, surprisingly hard to find) Farmer - 2 (for the pigs) Queen - 1 Jewel thief - 1 Animal Control officer - 1 Flying warriors - 4 (cuz they are so cool and highly sought after) Tribal woman - 2 (for the baby figure) Faun - 4 (another of my favourites) Ballerina - 1 (want another 1, hard to find) Clumsy guy - 2 (they're everywhere!) Frigtening Knights - 1 (might get some more, cool figure) Kendo fighter - 1 Astronaut - 1 Laser Mech - 1 Janitor - 1 Wrestling champ - 1
  15. Nothing at Myer Melbourne, in fact they barely have any stocks at all. Gosh they are very slow this year. Big W Melbourne CBD also have very low stock, nothing interesting, Target CBD have two new ninjago set, the zeppelin and sky shark at full retail price.
  16. This set is listed at $400 Au. While 'some' of the minifigures are desirable (and the bat mobile is cool), the rest is quite bland look very disjointed. This is not a display piece. I think I will pass on this and bricklink the figures I want. I am too not happy with the rise in prices lately. Lego, get your act together.
  17. Rang Myer Melbourne CBD today and they said that they have none of the 2016 sets currently but they will be getting some new city and Ninjago sets next week. However when I asked about the minifigure series 15, the rep thinks it's a March release. I hope the sale rep is wrong.
  18. Any sightings of the 2016 Lego sets around Australia, or specifically in Melbourne (Beside a couple of Star Wars battle packs or Microfighters which are starting to show up in Kmart and Big W? I'm especially looking forward to the minifigures series 15.
  19. I think the next animal mould will be an aquatic animal, maybe a seal or turtle. I think we could expect an animal trainer or circus trainer minifigure soon.
  20. On the bright side, we do get two new moulded animals. So that's something to be happy about. People have guessed farmer and animal control (ranger) as possible minifigure and so now we have them. It's true that the monster rocker and zombie cheerleader are a bit lame.
  21. My guess is that they will all have moulded head and I hope they do otherwise they will just look out of place. As for accessories, here are my guesses. 1. Mickey Mouse - depends on which type of mickey they are going to make, this is a hard one to guess. 2. Minnie Mouse - - depends on which type of minnie they are going to make, this is a hard one to guess. 3. Donald Duck and Pluto - Pluto is the accessory 4. Peter Pan - Tinkerbelle would be a great choice. 5. Mulan - If she has armour, then the accessory will be a boring sword. I'm keeping my finger crossed for the dragon, but that will be too hard to make. 6. Genie - lamp or perhaps, dual tail and leg piece. 7. Aladdin - Abu or flying carpet 8. Lilo - Voodo doll 9. Stitch - laser gun 10. Tarzan - spear 11. Jane - Umbrella or a book 12. Captain Hook - a sword 13. Jafar - the parrot (can't remember his name) 14. Joy - No idea 15. Sadness - No idea 16. Anger - No idea 17. Fear - No idea 18. Disgust - No idea I'm a bit annoyed that they decided to include the whole Inside out characters. I watched the movie recently, it is not that great in my opinion. I guess it's better sooner than later and It is good in away that they get rid off the whole characters in one go, so if you are a fan you get them all and if you are not, you will be relieved that they hopefully will not appear again in future series.
  22. I must be the only one here who is excited to see Tarzan and Jane included in the first Disney minifigure series. Tarzan is one of my all time favourite Disney cartoon. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and watch it. It has really good story line, funny, well animated and also very sad. I think that Jane may be the first Disney female minifigure to come with the new dress piece in yellow and perhaps she will have an umbrella as an accessory. I am also happy with the inclusion of Mulan in the first series. I wonder whether she will appear as warrior like or in princess/femine form. Hopefully the tiny red dragon (can't remember his name) will be her accessory. I think the more obscure characters Lego make, the better. As someone has stated in this thread, we will see more of the popular Disney characters in the later series (if this series is popular, which I am sure it will be).
  23. Brick built dress may fall apart when changing torso or handling, Plus hard to print on separate bricks than 1 whole piece. Just my opinion..
  24. After seeing the high res pictures, I think series 15 is the best out of them all. There are a wide range of different themed minifigures and some of these are very well designed. Lego has done something very special to this series which they haven't done before. For example, the queen's new dress piece (instead of the slope piece), the baby piece, which can be attached to hand or back (who would ever imagined that we would see a lego minifigure in baby form), the tutu which is a new style of dress piece (usually a piece of cloth in the past) the new satyr's leg etc. This opens up to a whole new possibilities and goes to show that minifigures are constantly evolving for the better and there would only be more awesomeness in future series. I'm highly looking forward to the Disney series. Wonder how these would turn out.
  25. Guessed two right for series 15. Here goes for series 16. 1.Centaur (this needs to happen eventually) 2.Cow costume guy or girl 3.Terracotta warrior (C'mon Lego, make it happens!) 4.A Prince (We've got king, queen, princess, jester, so...) 5.Matador (A classic recognisable figure) 6.Marie Antoinette (Now that we got the new queen dress piece..) 7.Frog costume guy or girl 8.Cricket player with a cricket bat 9.Acoustic guitarist 10.Midwife nurse with a baby and classic nurse hat 11.Merman 12.Golfer 13.Hunter with a hunting dog 14.Aquatic animal trainer with a seal or dolphin 15.Space police 16.Alien of some sort
